A soft layer of pure snow covered the lonely landscape and the icy wind whispered to anyone brave enough to head out. Everything seemed to be frozen in place, except for two silhouettes moved across the white landscape. The shorter of the duo was actually just a little girl, perhaps around six years old. With a messy flock of blonde hair and delicate, cheery features, she looked like any other kid. She had a common, brown cloak wrapped tightly around her small frame, brushing the ground with every step. There was no identification on her, no symbols or markings, nothing to reveal where she had come from or why she had arrived to the cold country.
With clattering teeth, the shivering child turned to her companion. "Are we there yet?" And for anyone keeping count, this was exactly the hundredth time she had asked the childishly annoying question. This had been going on for the whole trip from Konoha, starting few minutes after leaving the village gates behind. Hara Kin, the trickster in an innocent disguise, had been mercilessly testing her colleague’s patience. Whenever a quiet moment had gotten a little too long... Are we there yet? Nothing more, nothing less. Again and again, and again. She had also adopted a whole act to fit her disguise, even referring to her travel partner as Mommy. Just because.
However, on the Kitsune’s defense, she needed all the distractions she could get to keep her mind away from the most chilling detail. The Land of Iron was harsh for visitors who weren’t dressed properly. Which was to say... visitors like Hara. As usual, she had dressed very lightly to maximize mobility and ease of travel. No tick coat, no warm vest, not even any kind of footwear... Questions about being cold were always brushed off with a cheeky grin and an assurance that she was fine. Even if it was a painfully obvious lie. She was starting to turn a little... bluish.
Luckily, their destination wasn’t very far anymore. In fact, Hara could already see it and picked up her pace with a quick dash. It was just a small inn near the edge of village, but it was still undeniably warm and cozy. There they could take a short break, get their plan together and start the mission... The Kitsune’s lips twisted into a mischievous smile at the mere thought. It was a simple one. Find the target and eliminate him. But first... Warm shelter. Swift on her feet, the trickster slipped into the inn and stopped to wait for her colleague while enjoying the dry floor beneath her numb toes.

HOPE IS JUST A RAY OF WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD SEE ❝ "Achoo!" the pink haired woman sneezed. The icy cold wind invading her throat and throwing her into a coughing fit. Despite the research she'd done on Tetsu no Kuni prior to starting the mission, nothing could have prepared her for the bitter cold. Not even the warm taupe cloak and plain white scarf she wore. Her companion faired no better, unfortunately. And she feared the young... girl would die of frostbite before they'd even devised a plan. But every mention of 'cold' was met with the reassurance that she was fine. Despite the shade of blue Hara's pale skin had adopted recently. It had been quite the trip, to say the least. Hara had lived up to her infamous tricks. Taking not only the form of a young girl no older than six, but her personality as well. Occasionally gripping to Keiko's cloak as she posed the never-ending question: Are we there yet? Everytime her answer was the same, 'no'. But her tone was always calm, and never chiding. Her smile only ever faltering when an icy breeze rattled their cloaks. Keiko was a patient woman, and if anything, she'd more than adopted the title of 'mommy' that the young Hara had given her. Constantly worrying over Hara's complexion and asking if she was staying warm. In the distance she could make out an inn. Dim, yellow lighting had never looked so inviting. But Hara, the poor thing, was way ahead of her. Dashing to the door and waiting for Keiko to catch up. Once inside the inn, she could finally breathe. And for a moment she just stood there, enjoying the feeling of her lungs defrosting from the warm air of the inn. "This way, Hara-chan." she smiled, even going as far as to take Hara's small hand in an effort to keep up appearances. Though it was a wonder how darling little Hara hadn't inherited her mother's unique hair color. Leading the small blonde to a nearby table, she sat across from her and brought out a map. On it she'd circled where the opponent and his bodyguard would be meeting a client. "Looks like they'll be meeting around here. I figured we'd wait until the transaction had passed before...saying hello." she said, choosing her words carefully as a customer walked by their table. "One can subdue the opponent with a genjutsu while the other handles the guard. As soon as the opponent is safely subdued, the other will assist in handling the guard. I don't want to underestimate him. Do you have a preference of target? Or method? ...I'd personally prefer to avoid anything too...messy." she asked, cringing at the thought and finally looking up from the map to see the flushed, rosy cheeks of a girl who was finally warming up. "I'm glad we found somewhere warm. You were about to become a popsicle!" she giggled, her mothering tone overtaking how serious she'd been just moments ago. tags: Hara Kin, MasakiMADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

Obediently, the sweet little girl took the mommy’s hand and followed her closely to the table. Curious golden eyes, full of wonder, darted about and sought anything interesting. Beneath the disarming mask, Hara was having far too much fun with the whole setup. Most of her colleagues would’ve already told her to knock it off, even at the risk of blowing their cover. Keiko, however, had adapted to the joke perfectly, down to the motherly warmth that felt so real. She was a skilled deceiver, the trickster had to admit. Or maybe it was just her true nature? Either way, no one would’ve believed these two were dangerous kunoichi on a mission. Just as planned.
The Kitsune watched carefully as her partner went over the basics. It was a solid plan, something she might’ve probably suggested herself. When the careful woman asked for the preference, the little girl’s eyes lost their shine and lips twisted into a smirk, a borderline creepy reminder that she was far from innocent. "I’ll keep the guard busy while you work your magic on the target." She held up her palm before her eyes. Just a little demonstration. Showing off was in her nature. "With my little gimmick..." Slowly, she curled her fingers and the unnoticeable illusion took hold. Her chakra vanished without a trace, her intentions were suddenly a mystery and even her voice was like a distant whisper.
"They will never see us coming~" After the eerie demonstration, Hara regained her cheery smile along with the role. The bright presence of little girl was back, as if nothing unusual had happened. "Don’t worry, mommy. Hara will play nice." It was her reassurance, well, a promise actually that things wouldn’t get messy. She had always disliked bloodshed. Dead people were no fun after all. Luckily, her arsenal had plenty of moves for keeping people occupied without hurting them. ...Too badly at least.
When the motherly woman joked about the freezing trip, the little girl’s flushed face turned even redder. Suddenly she stood up onto her seat and slapped her hands against the table in protest. "Nu-uh! Hara wasn’t cold at all! Honest!" Such an obvious lie, yet she clung onto it with a pout of childish determination even after sitting back down. "Hara is a big girl now... Big girls don’t get cold..." Tiny sniffles tickled her nose and a high-pitched sneeze interrupted the mumbling. Now a comically long drop of snot threatened to stain her cloak and no amount of sniffling would hold it for long.
