OUT OF CHARACTER! Unison Sign is officially open! We've completely overhauled the site giving it a new look, new backstory, and new role playing system. We're still rolling out information posts and making changes to the board but feel free to get started on your characters and jump into the role play whenever you're ready. Make sure you are familiar with all of our new threads before you do though!
IN CHARACTER With the release of the bijuu and chakra reappearing in humans, the world has become incredibly unstable. To protect themselves from discrimination and prepare for the trials ahead clans of shinobi have started to gather together to form villages. Two villages already exist and this has put pressure on other clans to start to come together under their own banners. Will you help create these villages or do everything you can to stop them?

The fall season had to be Tatsu's favorite. It was never too cold, or too warm, the leaves were turning an array of orange and above all else was the fall festivals. Now, he knows, as a shinobi and a jounin to the Raikage, business had to come before play. But damnit, if he had to see another mission scroll thrust in his face with only a few days left of the festival to be had, he might open his mouth sooner than later. The village was in celebration! A new year was on its way, and shinobi or not, everyone needed rest. Even the Raikage herself. No, especially the Raikage, who would rather sit behind her desk and work than enjoy herself. Good thing she had Tatsu to force her out of her comfort zone. "Knock, knock," he sang, pushing his head around the corner to peer into her office, a decorative mask of a kitsune from the festival strapped to his face giving him a strikingly comical appearance despite still in his Jounin getup. Anyone could tell from his tone that he was grinning like a cat behind it. "The great and powerful foxy Tatsu heard there was a beautiful lady sitting inside when she should be out enjoying herself." Anyone would know it is incredibly unsightly to speak to the Raikage in such a manner. But not Tatsu. Tatsu pushed his way inside, ignoring whatever protest or complaint the newly appointed Raikage wanted to make. He knew how to push Mei's buttons by now to get her to give in. After all, they were friends and teammates before she was made Raikage. And just because she was their great and powerful leader, did not mean Tatsu was about to treat her any differently. She was still Mei, and will always be Mei. At least to him. Nothing changed except her title. "Come on," he coaxed, pushing papers aside across her desk out of her reach, and placing pens back into their ink wells. "I am not about to go stag to the festival. It only happens once a year and Raikage or not, you need a break. The world won't fall into disaster if you let yourself have a little fun for a few hours."He sat on the edge of her desk and waited for her to either a) argue with him, or b) give in. He hoped for the latter, because he really wanted to just forget about responsibility for a moment and spend time with his favorite person in the world. Well, as far as he knew, Mei hadn't a clue how he felt, and given his recent... secret incursions he would otherwise have her not know about, maybe that was best. Being around Mei had always had a double edge blade aimed over his heart; he loved being with her, and yet it hurt all the same. Because they would never work. Not as long as he... Even now, as he sat, peering at her from behind his decorative mask, the corners of his mouth dropped only for a second. But he shook it off, and put his smile back in place. @meitachibana here comes the train of feels, woo wooooo~! THEME - From YesterdayMARI @ GS!

OH, SHOULD MY PEOPLE FALL THEN SURELY I'LL DO THE SAME ❝ Flip. The page of the Bingo Book turned, crisp and smooth as the Raikage flipped through it's pages. It was clear how well she'd taken care of the small book. It's pages were crisp and straight, despite it's age. And the ink only showed light smudging from heavy usage. This small book in particular was a roster she'd requested. It detailed her Genin through Jounin, and it made the process of assigning missions that much easier. Though she kept a separate book for her ANBU members, simply for security reasons. "Hm," she hummed, glancing out the window. The leaves on the great old tree that rivaled the mountain her office sat on in size had turned warm in color. Reds, oranges, and even yellow as the leaves began to wilt. Every so often a gust of wind would blow through. Ripping a few tired leaves from the tree and carrying the excited voices of her citizens. Ah, wasn't there a festival going on? Mei nodded to herself, lips curving upward into a slight smile. "I'm glad they're enjoying themselves." she said, turning back to her paperwork, seemingly reinvigorated. "Knock, knock."Just as she'd been prepared to grab the next stack of paperwork, the familiar sing-song voice of Tatsu rang through her office. And she rose her head to meet the silly, decorative mask he wore. "Good afternoon, Tatsu." she greeted him, raising a brow and watching him through suspicious, amber colored eyes as he slipped into the room. She allowed the flirtatious comment to roll right off her shoulders. Knowing all too well that if she played into it, he'd have her. "Ah," she breathed, looking distressed as he pushed the stack of paperwork just outside of her reach. "Tatsu!" she whined, though the tone wasn't nearly as firm as one would expect of the Lady Raikage. She watched with a pout as he placed her pens back in their ink wells, "And explain to me again why I should put work on hold to ensure you don't go stag?" she laughed lightly, raising a brow and challenging him. But he was already way ahead of her, claiming that the world wouldn't fall into ruin if she took a few hours for herself. "Well, maybe not the world, but Kumo might!" she said rather defiantly, gaze drifting dangerously towards the stack of paperwork. Though she knew it was ridiculous to think such a thing. She had several capable shinobi who could cover for her. But that meant pulling them from the festival. Dragging them away from their families and lovers just so she could have a break. It just didn't seem worth it. And she'd happily sacrifice her breaks for theirs. Breathing a heavy sigh, she looked up at her friend and pursed her lips. Even if she shared her reasoning he'd still fight her on it. "Fiiiiiiiiiiine." she huffed, pushing herself up and out of her chair and walking around the desk to stand next to him. And like a pouting child she refused to smile. Refused to acknowledge that this little excursion could be any fun. And refused to laugh at that silly little mask he wore that fit his persona all too well. MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

Tatsu was entirely prepared to bring out the pouty lips and the whines that never failed to get Mei to cave-- or punch him-- but he had a feeling he caught her on a good mood. Though, for a second, he thought maybe she was going to reject his offer and pull those stacks of paperwork right back into her focus. But then she sighed out her answer, and-- oh, if only Mei could see his beaming face and the grin. But his mask hid his feelings just like everything else, only difference was that today he was actually wearing a mask over his face; so he could get away with a little more fondness in his smile than usual. Mei stood, and so did he. And as she came around her desk, he held out an arm to her, and would not accept anything less than her taking it. "Well, that went a bit easier than I thought it would," he playfully snickered, and hooking his arm with hers, he happily led the way out of her stuffy secluded office and down the hall. "But I'm glad you decided to go with me..." He trailed off for a second, his head tilting, but because of the mask-- at least he hoped because of the mask-- Mei wouldn't see the look of hesitation catching in his eyes. He paused for a breath, taking the time to reign himself in. If he had carried on, he might have said something that he would have probably regretted. Man, there was a book about this kind of situation right? Loving someone you can't have? Tatsu cleared his throat, and laughed out loud. "I can't bare to face the festival alone. My reputation would be at stake. What would the locals say? Tatsu? Single? The world has come to an end!" He laughed as perusal at his own joking as the two of them made their way out of the building. But an unexpected event barred their path, and two younger shinobi-- had to be Chunin ranked, or something, Tatsu can't begin to keep track of everyone like Mei can-- quickly approached them upon seeing the two of them descending the stairs. "Raikage-sama. We have some new urgent reports on those items that went missing from our vault last week," one started, and Tatsu felt a frown begin behind his eyes, but he shook it off and feigned perfect ignorance instead. "Unfortunately," carried on the shinobi. "We still do not have any leads on who might be behind it. We're still working on that." Tatsu cleared his throat a little, keeping his arm firmly looped with Mei's, quietly reminding her that she is on break. "Sounds like this thief is still giving you trouble, eh?"@meitachibana I have no plans but to be lovey dovey~ And drop hints of who Tatsu really is. MARI @ GS!
