"Say I never struggled, wasn't hungry, yeah, I doubt it"
Chasing chickens.....this was the level of task that Nobu Akihiko, Prince of Suna, was entrusted with. Every mission had its purpose, but retrieving some chickens all over Sunagakure, this just felt low. He wanted to go do bigger tasks with his youth and become a recognized ninja, not chase after some poultry, but he did it anyways. At the genin level he was at, Nobu first needed to rank up before he was trusted with important village missions, not to mention he really didn't even have a team at this point. Swallowing his pride, Nobu was headed for the market to find a loose chicken. Why the market, who knows why, he just figured it was as good a spot to start as any, although for some reason he didn't start at the Kazekage's residence but oh well. There were four chickens in the market and whichever one he saw first, would be the first one he would go after. He knew there was one in a barrel of fish, one pretending to be a squash, one pretending to be a duck, and another just in the vicinity of the market. Nobu was very confused about three of the chickens but he just let it go.
After entering the market place, he noticed that it was busier than usual. There were people all along the street and everyone was bumping into each other. Nobu would have a hard time trying to chase a chicken through these crowds but the chicken would probably have difficulty escaping also. His best bet would be trying to corner it in an alleyway. He could use a clone to chase it from another direction and use his Akihiko wire to capture it. The problem would be following it through the crowds.
As Nobu was walking through the market, thinking and looking around, a boy ran into him and fell backwards onto the ground. “Are you okay? You should watch where you are running especially in such a crowded place.” The young boy looked up in anger. “Who are you to tell me what to do, you aren’t my father so I don’t have to listen to you!” Surprised, Nobu replied “Now listen here, you ran into me and you are correct, I am not your father but you should still listen and respect your elders” They young boy got up and kicked Nobu as hard as he could in his shin and ran off into the crowd. Kneeling down, holding his left shin, Nobu swore under his breath and continued on with his mission.
Walking down the street, now with a bruised shin, Nobu heard some screams and ran towards the commotion using his Bunshin no Jutsu just in case. What Nobu found in the crowd was exactly what he was looking for. A chicken was flying dashing through people’s feet trying to escape the dozens of feet aimed at him. Finding a hole in the people, it tried to escape but was met with Nobu’s clone blocking it, forcing the chicken to go down an alley. So far, his plan was going well as the real Nobu ran down the alley which he knew was a dead end.
They say an animal will bare its fangs when cornered, well that saying also applies to chickens, especially chickens that can blow out fire streams from their mouth which somehow, he had forgotten that important fact. Nobu put chakra into his Akihiko wire and tried to tie the chicken’s legs together and try to capture it that way but the chicken decided that it was not yet time for it to go back to the farm. Turning around, the chicken blew out a small fire release stream right at Nobu. Due the fact that they were in an alleyway, there was no way to dodge it but he also had to be careful not to let the building burn down. As soon as he noticed the chicken turn around, he started doing a few hand seals. Concentrating his chakra in his palms he clapped and yelled "Fūton: Reppūshō" Nobu released the wind from his hands as he clapped them together and had put enough chakra into the jutsu to not do any damage to the buildings but still blow the jutsu and chicken away. Dust flew everywhere after his jutsu had finished and Nobu was being blinded by the sand being kicked up so he put his arm over his eyes.
The chicken had gotten away from him but it couldn’t have gotten far. The sand had settled in the alleyway and people were looking down the alley at him so he took to the roofs to see if he could find the chicken but did not see it. Thinking hard, Nobu sat on top of the building trying to figure out what he would do now. The alleyway that they were in previously was a dead end so two things could have happened, when he used gale palm, he could have blown the chicken out of the alleyway, or when he kicked up the sand and blinded himself to stop the fire stream, the chicken could have ran right past him. Afterwards, there were people looking down the alleyway at him so he doubted the chance of it escaping back out to the street.
First, he dropped down to the alleyway to search for any clues as to where it could have gone to. The alley was created through the sides and backs of houses and the alley they were in had a six foot, wooden fence with a metal lock on it. Even for a chicken with jutsu, it would not be able to fly over the fence on its own but with a little bit of wind to help it, it might have been possible. Nobu jumped over the fence and began searching and was greeted with a great hint. On the ground, there was a feather with a bit of blood on it, so Nobu knew he was moving in the right direction but this also meant that the chicken was hurt. Looking around quickly, found another feather in front of another alleyway and looked down only to find a fire stream headed straight for his face. Caught by surprise and staring right at a blast of fire headed for his face, (Why does everything have to go for his face, I swear, in all my solo threads), Nobu fell on his ass and the chicken started running out the alleyway. After a second, he recovered and got up to chase the chicken. He ran up the wall of the alleyway he was in to get a bird’s eye view.
After chasing the chicken quietly on the rooftops, Nobu saw the chicken turn down a street that wasn’t busy and slow down. Perching himself on the corner of the building above the chicken, Nobu decided to play this one safe. He quietly whispered “Kanashibari no Jutsu”. The chicken being stuck in paralysis, Nobu put chakra in his wire and tied the chicken up, and went to the chicken farm to bring it back.
