The clash of two blades echoed through the forest in the Land of Rivers. Sparks jumped from the two blades excitedly. Aoi held his ground, with tip of his giant sword he called Gekido buried into the ground. More sparks rose up as more shuriken struck the heavy blade. Aoi held Gekido in place, one hand on the handle of the giant sword as he used the massive blade as cover. It was difficult to penetrate this blade indeed, but that didn't stop Aoi's target from trying. Finally, a moment of silence as the hail of shuriken stopped striking Gekido. With no hesitation, Aoi removed the sword from the ground, throwing it over his shoulder and swiftly throwing himself forward. One foot in front on the other, Aoi moved with incredible speed along the ground. Before he could reach his target, he was caught off guard by another hidden in the trees. A kunai moved through the air, slicing the leaf floating innocently from the tree to the ground. A sharp pain stuck Aoi like a bolt of lightning as the kunai pierced the skin of Aoi's upper thigh of his right leg. The target stood there, grinning, as though he had already one. Aoi flinched slightly, but did not stop. Only inches away, the target realized that Aoi was not going to stop, and as Aoi swung Gekido to the side with incredible force, the target raised his left arm in an attempt to block it. A lound crunch resonated as Gekido struck its target, shattering his arm in multiple places. The target flew through the air as Aoi followed through with the swing, Gekido now drenched in the blood of the target. The limp body struck the ground, rolling and flailing about until a nearby tree stop it immediately. The leaves upon the tree struck by the body quivered for a moment, and the birds currently resting there took off, startled.
Aoi came to a sliding stop, tossing Gekido, his massive sword, back over his shoulder. The leaves began to rustle as the second target ran off, retreating in hopes to fight another day. Aoi was not about to get in the habit of letting a target escape. He prepared himself to pursue when a sensation overcame his body. Aoi became weak and limp. "Tch... a poisoned kunai?" Aoi mumbled to himself. "Coward!"
Stumbling about, dragging Gekido behind him, Aoi made his way towards a large tree. Gekido hit the ground, leaving an imprint of itself in the soft dirt as Aoi dropped, leaning himself up against the tree. Gazing upon his trail, he could see the blood left behind from his fresh wound. Aoi tightly grasped the kunai, still inside of his leg, and quickly pulled it out. One more spurt of blood hit the ground before the bleeding slowed in pace. Aoi rustled through his pouch, trying to find something to relieve him of the poison travelling through his blood stream. His eyelids began to get heavy and his vision started to blur.
"Damn..."

Post by Demiyah Akiyama on May 25, 2014 16:31:03 GMT -7
D emiyah stared at the sky, laying out in the grass in front of her cabin. Why her? She wasn't anything special. She didn't even know if she could lead. Why her? The question ran over and over in her mind, never staying away for too long. She was perfectly happy to be considered, but there was always the doubt that it'd be too much for her. Not only would she have her sister and her father to take care of and worry about, but now, if she was chosen as the next Kazekage, she would have the entire village. A trembling sigh escaped her and she rolled over onto her stomach, running her hands back through her red hair. It was loose for once and she wasn't in any of her ninja clothing. To anyone passing she would be seen as a civilian. Not a threat to anyone. Yet, it wasn't like someone would pass the cabin. It was far off any sort of beaten path, that was for sure. Peace and quiet. That's all she wanted. The Kazekage candidate just wanted to be left alone with her thoughts. She had need to prepare herself mentally. Up until then she'd worried about nothing but her family and her missions. She had to be able to put food on the table for them. Her father was too old to work anymore and her sister was no longer a shinobi. She was too frail to fight anymore. The chuunin exams had made sure of that. No. No. She wasn't here to think about that. Letting out a gruff sigh, she pushed herself to her feet, pausing when she felt someone close by. Not just someone. Three someones. It was stupid, she'd felt their presence for a while now but hadn't exactly put any thought into who they might be. What a great way to start off her vacation. She was going to get herself killed, it seemed. Thankfully, Demiyah wasn't stupid enough to leave behind her weapons. There was always going to be a chance in which someone would recognize her. The feared Shotto o Osoreru. Dread Shot. Another reason she'd been considered for the position of power in her village. Her skills were feared and she'd make a better figurehead than most. It was a stupid ideal, honestly. Demiyah slipped into her cabin as quickly as she could, grabbing her bow and quiver of arrows, swinging them both onto her back. She grabbed her ninja pouch, clipping it around her thigh. In another second she was out the door and into the forest. By the time she reached the place where she suspected the people to have been, she noted that only one was left. Carefully, she inched around the edge of one of the trees, slowly pulling an arrow from her quiver and pulling it back against the string of her bow, aiming it out in front of her as she stepped into full view. Standard Demiyah personality was to show no emotion whatsoever when dealing with people. However, not wishing to stir up any suspicion about her being anything other than a hunter, she put a smile on her features, her one non-sightless eye watching the man leaning against the tree across from her. She watched him as he pulled a kunai from his leg, stepping forward very slowly. Demiyah didn't lower her bow as she started closer to him, "My, my. It seems you've gotten yourself into some trouble. I'm not going to shoot you and I'll help you as long as I don't end up like that guy." With her statement she nodded her head in the direction of the dead shinobi. "May I?" she asked a little softer now. If there was one thing that Demiyah hated was letting someone die. The people she'd killed over the years haunted her every waking moment. Why would she let someone die if she could help them? 658 - Aoi Inoue - wewt! lets get this started!

Startled by the sudden appearance of another person, Aoi began to reach for Gekido, laying on the ground next to him. The poison had already done its toll on Aoi's body. Even just reaching was too much work now. Aoi's arm fell, his hand striking the ground before Aoi pulled his arm back in towards him.
Am I going to die here?
The next words to leave this strange woman's mouth caught Aoi off guard. They resonated through the air and into Aoi's ears like a soft, peaceful song. She had offered her assistance to Aoi. A man she had never met before in her life. This complete stranger was willing to offer him assistance. Aoi froze for a moment, speechless. Unable to bring a response right away. His body began to loosen as he started to relax. Her voice had no hostile intent. It felt as though she genuinely wanted to help. Aoi opened his eyes as much as he could, given his current state. He began to examine this woman, taking notice of the bow in her hand. Or at least what he could only guess was a bow. His vision was still blurry, and it was progressively getting worse.
If I don't get help, I'm going to die anyway.
"Fine..." Aoi responded, weak, as he let his head fall back against the tree and revealed the wound to the woman.

D emiyah took in a slow breath, preparing herself to put her bow down. Slowly she slackened her grip on the string, removing the arrow from the bow and putting it into her quiver. She slung the bow onto her back, moving to the mans side without a single moment of hesitation on her part. The Sunagakure ninja settled on her knees next to him, observing his wound in silence. Frowning to herself she realized that she didn't have anything to treat poison with her. All of her supplies were back at the cabin. She debated silently with herself for a moment before deciding to catch his attention. "Listen to my voice, and don't close your eyes. I have to move you and it's going to hurt quite a bit. All of my supplies are back where I'm staying," she said lightly, giving her best smile, trying to reassure him. She wouldn't let the guy die if she could so help it, but her medical skills were lacking. She'd picked up a bow at such an early age that she hadn't even considered medical ninjutsu. It would have been useful in this situation, that was for sure. Luckily for him, though, her father had given her quite a few medical supplies just in case she ran into any trouble. Some of them were antidotes for various poisons. He'd always been a little overbearing, but at this moment she was glad for her fathers consistency in his care for his children. If Aoi was lucky, and the poison was generic in composition, he'd be feeling better in no time. Without waiting for his response and knowing quite well that he probably would have consciousness for much longer, she bent down, bracing herself against the ground and slowly pulling him up into a standing position. Demiyah slung his arm around her shoulder, her other hand resting against his chest to help keep him standing. If she was to get to the poison in time she'd have to move him faster than he'd be able to walk himself. Sighing lightly to herself, she brought her gaze back to him. "I need you to hold your breath, alright?" she asked lightly. "I'm going to move you very quickly and I don't need you getting sick on me," she grumbled with a bit of cynicism. She actually paused this time, watching his face to see if she'd have to take him by force or if he'd except the fact that he was about to go on the ride of his life. 425 - Aoi Inoue - wewt! lets get this started!

As Aoi let this woman pick him up and sling his arm around her shoulder, he tried to stand himself. His legs began to shake, and his head became dizzy. The world around him was spinning at a high velocity. It was as though Aoi were on a fast spinning amusement park ride, and had just stepped off of it. His eye lids only began to grow heavier. Aoi listened as the strange woman warned him. Aoi knew exactly what he was in for. In his experience as a shinobi, it could only mean one thing. Before closing his eyes, Aoi took one last glace back. Gekido laid there, lonely as could be. Aoi stared at Gekido for a moment, as though he were secretly promising his sword that he'd be back for it shortly. With one last deep inhale, Aoi held the air in. Ensuring to hold every bit of it in, Aoi nodded his head slightly to signal this woman that we was ready to go. It wasn't often that Aoi accepted help from people. In fact, he hated relying on others. But this was not a time to be picky. Aoi would die otherwise. This could not happen until Aoi found the man who lay this cursed mark on his eye. Nobody would stop him until he found the one responsible for everything. Tagged: Demiyah AkiyamaOOC: Bad post. D emiyah watched the man carefully, making sure that he wasn't just playing her. She could tell he was badly wounded, but there was always that voice in her head that told her to be careful. He could be setting a trap for her. As she was about to leave with him, she glanced back toward the blade, silently noting the way the man looked at it. If she saved him in time, she would come back for his blade. It was clear that it was coveted by the man. Who was she to leave it out here to be damaged by the earth or the animals, or maybe even passersby. Giving Aoi one last look to see if he was alright, she took in a sharp breath, focusing hard, knowing it would take more chakra to transport two people, though she had no problem with it. A single step forward and it was like the world around them disappeared and then changed. Only a few seconds passed by before Demiyah was slowly helping Aoi into her cabin, settling him on her bed carefully, pulling an empty bucket over toward him just in case he was sick from the movement. "You lay there. I need to grab my supplies from the other room," she noted quietly, dropping her bow and quiver into a corner before slipping away. "Alright. I've got everything here. You just lay back and relax. We might have to try a few different antidotes before it works and kills the poison. I have no way of knowing exactly what type of poison was used," she said calmly as she reentered the room, moving to his side and leaning over his leg. Grabbing up a knife from her ninja pack under her bed and dragging it through the fabric, opening the cloth a little more so Demiyah could get a good look at it. Swallowing hard, she frowned to herself. "I need to clean this first, but I need to get water. Will you be alright for a little longer?" she asked softly. "I'll only be a minute or two. You need to stay awake," she said lightly, pressing her hand against his forehead to get his temperature. She didn't want to leave until she knew that he would be alright with it. Demiyah just worried that he would die before she got back to him. However, she wouldn't be able to ensure that the antidotes worked until the wound was cleaned and wrapped properly. 416 - Aoi Inoue - wewt! lets get this started!

As the world whizzed by like a blur, Aoi shut his eyes. The two of them moved forward with great speed, rushing to the cabin. Before he knew it, they had arrived at their destination. Aoi opened his eyes again, though this time he struggled. It was growing harder to keep them open, and Aoi could feel the weakness in his body growing. As the mysterious woman helped him into the cabin and onto the bed, Aoi accepted it and fell gracefully. The soft, cloudy sheets absorbed the fall as Aoi's body struck it, sinking slightly. The woman left him alone for a moment to retrieve the supplies, but Aoi laid there, motionless, deep in thought. How could I let this happen?
Finally, she had arrived with the supplies. Aoi exhaled a sigh of relief, hoping that he wouldn't have to die today. Though things were beginning to look up, he couldn't help but begin to feel a slight anger well up inside. Aoi's face winced slightly as the cursed mark began to sting, glowing ever so slightly with a tint of red. No. Not here. Not now...
As the woman warned Aoi that she'd need to leave again for a few moments to get water, Aoi listened. He struggled to keep his eyes open, and now his mark was beginning to act up. It was one thing after another. Aoi nodded slightly to inform his savior that he'd be fine for a few moments on his own. He remained silent, struggling with his own mind and will. He needed to stop his mark from getting worse again. Now was not the time. Tagged: Demiyah AkiyamaOOC: Notes coded by electric of gangnam style

D emiyah paused for only a moment, her brow furrowed and her eyes on his face. She noticed the mark and how he seemed to be reacting to its activation. What was it and did she need to be even more on her guard than she already was? Grabbing the bucket she used for water, she grabbed up the knife that she'd used on the leg of his pants, taking it as her only protection from others while she went to fill the bucket with the water she needed. It took only a few moments before Demiyah realized that she was staring at the man who lay out on her bed. 'This is no time for idle curiosity,' she noted to herself, closing her eyes and sighing. In a split second she was gone, stopping in front of a river with the bucket, her breathing heavy. She'd only recently discovered her kekkei genkai and learned how it worked and how to use it. It was just amazing that in all her power, she was already coming to her limit with it. Each time she tapped into the chakra that allowed her instantaneous travel, her chakra pool grew ever smaller, and Demiyah could feel it now. Her muscles were starting to ache, a sign that she wouldn't be able to use it much longer without putting herself into excruciating pain. Demiyah placed her hand against the bark of a tree that bordered on the bank of the river, digging her nails into dark tree and pinning her knife against the trunk as she caught her breath, her head bowed slightly. When she could breathe properly again, she threw her knife toward the ground, wedging it into the soft ground for her to pick up in a moments notice. Bending down at the side of the river, she dipped the bucket into the clear stream, taking only a small moment to enjoy the smell of the water. Being from Sunagakure, it wasn't often that she was out in the raw, temperate nature like this. The desert was a harsh place and water wasn't as readily available as it was in other countries. Demiyah pulled the bucket out of the water, breathing in sharply as she looked back into the trees, calculating just how far it was from the river bank to the cabin. She'd only be able to use her Swift release once more before she'd need to rest. She knew she wouldn't get any of that tonight, however. After picking up her knife again, a single movement of her foot and she was entering the cabin, the world seeming to morph around her. Refraining from staggering through the door, she walking a little slower than normal to ensure that she kept her balance, moving back to Aoi's side and setting the bucket on the floor. In silence, Demiyah slipped into the back room and grabbed a cloth, coming back and dipping it into the clear water. Her eyes drifted back up toward Aoi's face, deciding it was best to keep him talking if she could. A pang of worry filled her chest as she observed his curse mark. She'd never had to deal with anyone of her own village that had one, but from the perspective of past Kages and jounin, it was difficult to rein them in at times. Hopefully she wouldn't have to deal with it now. The last thing she wanted to do was kill this man. After all, wasn't that why she was attempting to save his life in the first place? "Tell me your name," she said softly, squeezing out the rag of water, and pressing it to his wound, working tirelessly to ensure that it was completely clean, and trying to be careful not to cause him too much more pain. "Introductions always start with the names," she added in with a smile, looking up at him gently. This was one of the few times when her motherly instinct kicked in. She didn't know how many nights that she'd sat at her sisters bedside after the chuunin exams simply to tend to her wounds. At this point it was starting to come more naturally. But Sunagakure didn't need a mother. They needed a leader, and suddenly this man was just another worry on her mind, another thing to bring back the thought of 'Why me?' that had already been plaguing her mind for the extent of her vacation.

As the woman cared for Aoi, he took notice of her eye movements and facial expressions. He could tell she was looking at the cursed mark that covered an entire portion of the right side of his face. He didn't blame her. It was ugly. Aoi observed the worry in her eyes. He began to feel bad. Bad for putting this kind woman out like this. He felt bad for worrying this stranger. They had never met before, so Aoi couldn't fathom why she would go to such lengths to help him. Why not just let him die? It would have been so much easier for her.
Finally, the woman had broken the silence with an odd demand. She wanted to know his name. Aoi just laid there on the bed, silently, deep in thought. His focus was entirely on keeping his cursed mark in check, though he was entirely aware of what was happening around him. A deep breath in, and a slow exhale every few seconds to keep his heart rate down and his mind clear. The last thing Aoi wanted to do was to lose it. Hurting the one person that was willing to help him in a time of need was not something Aoi wanted to do right now.
"Aoi..." he responded, mustering up the strength to open his mouth and force the words out, just as he finally began to regain full control of himself. The red glow of the cursed mark began to fade into the purest black.
" Thank you..." Aoi struggled to get these words out. It could have been because he was still so weak from the poison, or perhaps it was because he was so uncomfortable thanking somebody. Aoi quickly turned his head to the side, looking away from the woman with red hair. " Sorry..." Tagged: Demiyah AkiyamaOOC: Notes coded by electric of gangnam style

D eftly working hands moved from his wound to the bucket, rinsing out the cloth from time to time, trying to ensure that the entire thing was clean. When she was sure, she took one of the bottles of medicine that she had with her, dropping a few drops into the wound to kill any lingering poison before getting up to look for a small cup. She poured a small amount of the same liquid into the cup and went to settle back next to him again, pulling up a chair. Her body was aching suddenly, overworked from the swift release. Now that the adrenaline was wearing off, she was starting to feel the pain, though she'd never outright show that anything was wrong. Demiyah smiled when he said his name, setting the cup aside to start wrapping his leg. She'd give the antidote to him after she finished bandaging his wound. She worked quickly, wrapping the wound tightly to prevent anymore bleeding, nodding to herself when she was finally finished. "It's nice to meet you, Aoi. My name is Demiyah," she said gently, sitting silently for a few moments to watch his reactions, glancing down when he thanked her. She'd have done it for anyone, regardless of what village they were from. It was hard for her to let people die, especially if she had a way to help them. Killing people left a deep mark on her, and letting them die was an even worse feeling. It only took her a moment to notice that the mark had stopped glowing, and she sighed, reaching out and touching his chin, turning his head gently to look at her. "I'm going to help you sit up so that I can give you this antidote, alright?" she said softly, standing up even though her legs protested by tightening in agony, but she ignored it. Placing her arm under his shoulders, she lifted him up slowly, propping up the pillow so he could lean against it and lean his head on the wall behind the bed. When he was all settled, she grabbed the cup with the small amount of liquid in it and put it to his lips, helping him drink it. "If it's the poison I think it is, it'll start working soon. If it isn't, it'll at least slow down the spread so that I can give you the other antidote," she said gently, glancing away for a long moment. She couldn't even remember how many times she'd had to help the students in her village when they were messing with things they weren't supposed to. She'd had to administer quite a few antidotes in her time. It was standard to keep quite a bit made, seeing as many of the puppeteers dealt with poison. Settling back into the chair with a heavy thump, she let out a relieved breath, swallowing hard as the pain started to subside just a little bit. "I take it that the other shinobi that you were fighting got away," she said with a lifted eyebrow.
