WANTED: SAO!Ninja

It's the Seven Swordsmen 2.0 but better because Sword Art Online face claims are the bomb.

I've been wanting to use an SAO face claim for the loongest time and so this happened. This request is for a group of genins/chuunins from Kirigakure who all utilize some form of kenjutsu. They're at fairly low rankings now, but they're all going to train together and eventually become fab. I have face claims listed at the moment, but if you'd like to have a spot but with a different SAO face claim (or different face claim in general, but SAO preferably) then of course that works too! And just an FYI - you don't need to watch SAO at all to be in on this plot. I'm cruel but not discriminatory (jkjk I'm lovely). I just used the FCs and the general character ideas as inspiration.

I was also hoping that the characters themselves would be based off the SAO characters to some extent because all of those people are simply adorable, but feel no pressure, my dears~ the only thing set in stone for me is that the characters have got to all be close. Regardless of rank, regardless of age, regardless of hair color or sword material, they've all bonded through the art of kenjutsu and have become close friends. I mostly spoke about each character's abilities in the description section as opposed to personality because I want you guys to have freedom with the characters :3 Don't feel pressured to make them a certain way - just have fun!


One more thing - they aren't necessarily on teams with each other. This is something like a kenjutsu clique - they can associate with whomever they wish, but they always come back to each other at the end of the day for group meals and sleepovers and sparring sessions. Think Rookie 9 dynamics, but closer. I know I refer to them on a whole a ton, but it's a confusing frame of mind that I have gotten myself in to - don't take it too seriously. c: But there's potential for them having been in a team together at some point if they're close enough in age - just let me know if you'd like that and I'll edit it in.

The other thing I'm using as inspiration for each character's abilities (I have this thing about themes) is dragons. While that might seem very general, it's actually not - I've isolated seven separate types of dragons that fit the character themes. These are flexible as well; just an outline.

I shall be referring to this adorable girl as Silica until taken. She'd be the youngest in the group and maybe be slightly babied for it, but nothing too drastic. I'm pretty open about her fighting style, as she'll definitely be developing as time goes by, but the one thing I was really hoping for was that she'd have a fighting companion. In SAO, it's a little dragon named Pina - it would have to be altered for the Narutoverse, but Pina is a big part of Silica's fighting style and I was hoping it would remain the same. Silica wouldn't use as long of a sword as the others - it would be something like a chisa katana or kodachi. Silica would probably have a water/wind affinity as well, but I can see her focusing more on her taijutsu as a secondary than ninjutsu.

AYANO "SILICA" KEIKO

This silly kid shall be referred to as Kirito until taken~ Kirito is, to say it simply, a prodigy. He'd be one of the strongest in the group, no doubt about it. In par with Kirito in SAO, I'd like for him to have dual wielding (using a pair of swords as opposed to one) He'd be a bukijutsu primary, of course, but would also specialize a bit in throwing weapons. He'd be among the fastest in the group and would be a leader in the group for his skill level. He'd be one of the best at stealth/espionage and probably takes genjutsu as a secondary skill.

Also can whoever takes Kirito do a romance plot with Asuna bc Kirisunaaa~

KIRIGAYA "KIRITO" KAZUTO

Asuna shall be the temporary name of this lovely girl. She is about equal to Kirito in level of skill, one of the best in the group. She's a very fast slasher, Iado style, and a skilled fighter in general. She'd wield a light sword that would allow for fast and precise movement. She would be something like a surrogate mother for the group; I can picture her taking medical ninjutsu as a secondary skill and cooking for the group as well. Despite this, I can't picture her ever staying in the background as support - she'd be out on the front lines being her feisty, fantastic self and letting her skill speak for herself.

Cookies if whoever plays Asuna does a romance plot with Kirito~

ASUNA YUUKI

Klein, as he shall be referred to, is the most force-focused sword user of the lot. He's not as elegant as Asuna, nor is he as dangerously precise as Kirito, but he's just as dangerous due to his ability to wield his sword with immense power - he's a powerhouse, to say it simply. He'd definitely take taijutsu or ninjutsu as a secondary skill and I'd like for him to have fire affinity. I can see him being slightly reckless at some times and always being on the front line, most likely as an action of protectiveness but it's up to you.

A personal headcanon of mine (don't feel obligated to take it) is that he'd be extremely protective of Silica. He'd also have been one of Kirito's first friends and I can see him being the uniting force of the group at first - the one who brought the seven together in to their little training party. Despite being isolated in age, he'd definitely have been the outgoing one at first who made the atmosphere comfortable.

TSUBOI "KLEIN" RYOUTAROU

Leafa, as she will be called, would be the most ninjutsu focused of the group. She'd be the one who has the most knowledge about jutsus in general and probably encourages other members to expand more in to ninjutsu/genjutsu/fuuinjutsu (but she'll ultimately fail) She's very fast on her feet, quick enough to match Asuna, though she's has less proficiency with a sword. She started kenjutsu later than everyone else which is why she's one of the newest members of the group. She might have a kekkei genkai or hiden as well. She probably has a very "jumpy" fighting style, focused on navigation to different grounds as opposed to being a grounded fighter. Leafa would have wind or water affinity and likely end up with two elemental releases after much training.

LEAFA

Recon - our temporary name for this adorable green-haired ninja - would be the sensor of the group. He'd definitely utilize a lot of sneak attacks whilst fighting and use a mix of long range attacks using bukijutsu (tricked kunai, smoke bombs, etc.) with close range attacks. Like Silica, he'd use a shorter weapon and be quite masterful with it - a chisa katana or kodachi would be a good idea for him. Kirito probably trained Recon in shurikenjutsu at some point as well. Recon is a master of channeling chakra through his weapons as well, which is pretty cool.

I can imagine that Recon and Leafa joined the team at around the same time, making them the newest members of the group.

RECON

The rosette pictured shall be called Lisbeth for convenience's sake. This pink haired ninja is not only a kenjutsu user but a blacksmith as well, potentially able to create swords of her own one day. She probably grew up around swords, making her very comfortable wielding them and working with them. On top of that, she's much stronger than she looks and I can picture that becoming important in her fighting style as time progresses. Lisbeth is likely to be a fire or earth affinity ninja and I can imagine that she's very versatile. She'd definitely focus on kenjutsu but she'd probably dabble in both ninjutsu and taijutsu on the side. She's probably been a member of the group for a while and thus knows everyone very well.
