biography Yuudai was born into the revered Kuzashi clan, though he never asked for it. He was a strong child at birth, and a stubborn one as well. He cried and cried and cried, never stopping even at the pleas of his mother and father. Luckily for his father, the little boy had taken after him, with light pink hair and the same amber-brown eyes that were so rare within the clan. He was born the younger brother to Yamada Kuzashi, but unlike his brother, he wasn't considered a child prodigy. He was trained in the way that most Kuzashi were trained as children, within the compound, away from the company of village students. He had no ambition, not wishing to be forced to follow the same path as his older brother. His father scolded him insistently, never backing off of his younger son. The young boy always let it roll off his back, ignoring his fathers yelling which only got worse when he knew that Yuudai wasn't listening. Instead, Yuudai always practiced on his own when there was no one else around. He found it a lot easier to train when no one was telling him that he was doing this or that wrong in his technique. If he was going to learn, he was determined to create his own technique and not have anyone tell him he was wrong because it was his own style and only he knew the very basics of his own style. Yuudai seemed to be unmotivated on the outside, and he even acted quite daft at times, but he wasn't so far off of how strong his older brother had been at his age. Intelligent beyond his years, if he had showed any initiative whatsoever, he would have been considered to be a prodigy just as Yamada had been. It was somewhere between this time and the end of Yuudai's academy days that his older brother, Yamada, was disowned by their father. This event only served to place more resentment on Yuudai's shoulders, distancing him even further from his pushy father than he already was. The nature of his fathers anger toward his youngest son only grew when Yuudai activated his Shakugan at age nine, but refused to take the Bath of Fire. It was in part to his constantly unproductive attitude, but he secretly didn't want to swear loyalty to a clan with such horrible views of the village that they served. He, in his heart, didn't feel that their anger was rightly placed, and that something that happened so long ago shouldn't have been so deeply scarring to the clan and the village so long after it had happened. Even though his father pressured Yuudai to take the bath of fire, he still rejected the idea. Frustrated with his youngest child, his father finally placed him into the academy. Needless to say, Yuudai slacked even in school. He slept most of the time, and refused to participate in class activities. When taking tests and exams, he purposely tried to see how many answers he could get wrong, even though he knew them all by heart. By looking at him, none of the teachers realized just how intelligent the kid was and that he was making himself fail on purpose simply out of extreme boredom. He took the final exam in the academy three times, finally graduating at the end of his third year when he decided that he was bored with giving his teachers bullshit. What stunned the teachers the most was that on his third try, after failing every single test and exam he'd ever taken, he'd gotten a perfect score on the academy's final exam. It was only then that Yuudai's teachers fully realized the reasoning for the young genin's antics. Yuudai was placed onto a genin team, around the age of thirteen, with a sensei that the Hokage thought would help to motivate the young Kuzashi. It was a total fail of a plan on the Hokage's part, simply because Yuudai and the sensei didn't get along whatsoever. To Yuudai, the man acted too much like his father, outwardly expressing his hatred for the Kuzashi clan and how they were traitorous trash. Still holding at least a semblance of loyalty to his clan and his family, it was one of the few times in Yuudai's life that he lost his temper with someone, having to be forced off his sensei before the young Kuzashi killed him with fire. Yuudai was instantly switched into a different team, where the sensei simply left him to his own devices, not pushing him in any way. She let the boy slack off in training sessions and on missions, knowing that it wouldn't be a good idea to push him. Yuudai was thankful for it. Finally having the freedom to act how he wanted, he slowly started to shape himself up. When it came to the chuunin exams, much to Yuudai's father's dismay, Yuudai declined taking the exams for three years in a row. Instead, he started to train himself mentally and physically, working with his fire element. In fact, he decided to work more with his Shakugan, slowly working his body toward phase two. However, he went about it in the more difficult way, forcing his eyes to absorb chakra infused flames. He knew the risks well, but that didn't stop him. The pain of the technique was utterly excruciating, and by the days end of training, Yuudai was often irritable and wanted to be left alone. Of course, his father wouldn't let that happen. If he wasn't out on his own and training, with his team training, or out on a mission, Yuudai's father insisted on drilling him through training exercises. Yuudai didn't put much effort into his fathers training, usually wishing to sleep or rest after hours of practicing with his Shakugan in secret. It was around this time that Yuudai also started to listen to what the people of the village said about his clan and what his clan said about the village. Disgusted with both parties, he started to distance himself from both his clan and all those in the village who thought to speak lowly of his family. He didn't want to become one of the statistics and he certainly didn't want to be like either of them. He found no fault between the two parties except for their need to teach each other down whenever possible. He embraced his teammates, knowing that they accepted him whether he was in the Kuzashi clan or not. Even his sensei was understanding with him, always having kind words to give him when she knew that he was feeling down. Yuudai then entered the chuunin exams for the first time, for the sake of his teammates who he'd denied placement in for the last three years in a row. Once they were through the second round of the exams, Yuudai dropped out, not wishing to go any further than that. He'd exhausted his Shakugan in the second round, forcibly absorbing flames from another genin's attack. This instantly activated the full form of his phase two Shakugan, but at that point he was in so much pain from it's use that he couldn't bear to continue. His father, furious with the now eighteen year old son of his, tore into Yuudai like he never had before. Of course, he hadn't known the feats that Yuudai had taken to protect his team in the second round of the chuunin exams. This marked the second time that Yuudai had ever lost his cool. Harsh words and physical blows were exchanged, and the entire ordeal ended with Yuudai being disowned by his father and thrown out of the family home. Having saved all of his money earned from his missions over his few years as a genin, Yuudai got himself a small apartment in the village and started to take quite a few more missions just to pay his rent. His two teammates had made it to chuunin level, and his sensei had to quit active duty for maternity leave. Upon these events, Yuudai was switched to a new genin team. His brothers. Facing his brother was difficult after being disowned much like him, but it's something that he did with great pride, ready to show his brother that he could take care of himself without the coddling of their parents or the whispers of their clan. However, having lost his membership within his clan, he's started to feel rather lost, still able to hear talk of hate between his birth clan and his beloved village. | ooc info ☆ NAME Dee ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS Demiyah Akiyama Ryuunosuke Suoh Amaterasu Tachibana Ronin ☆ FACE CLAIM FAIRY TAIL Natsu Dragneel, Yuudai Kuzashi THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO DEE.
