biography It was one of Konoha's coldest winters, and the Tsubasa clan that was known for the fiery warmth much like the Fire Country they lived in, remained indoors. Huddled next to warm fires and snuggled up with blankets while the snow continued to cover Tsubasa land. They'd nearly reached two feet of snow by the time a women yelled; her water broke. The voice came from Akemi Tsubasa, who was nine months pregnant at the age of twenty-three and ready to pop. Unfortunately, her little girl had chosen one of the worst nights to come into the world. The midwife was barred by the heavy snow, unable to reach Akemi who had gone into labor. With only her willpower and husband to help her through, Akemi and her husband Toren delivered their daughter Naoto to the world after a long, twelve hour labor. From the moment Naoto could walk they knew she was gifted. She was a fast learner, and was quickly recognized by both the council and clan leader. It was a wonder how a girl as strong as she had been born to the humble pair that was her parents, rather than a great man like Gouman. And the council waited eagerly for the day Naoto would enroll in the Shinobi Academy. The day they'd see the young girls true potential. There was even talk of an arranged marriage between Naoto and the current heir to the clan: Tsukiya Tsubasa. Shortly before her third birthday, the Tsubasa clan welcomed the second child to Gouman and Amatsu. His name was Jiyuu Tsubasa, and his life had come at the cost of Amatsu's. It was an exchange that the young Nao couldn't quite understand. But even just shy of three she could tell that his birth was not welcomed by everyone. Though she was too young to adopt the prejudice herself, and her mother seemed so accepting of the boy. At the age of five, her mother began babysitting the young Jiyuu who was only three, just two years younger than her. She always brought Naoto along, encouraging her daughter to play with him. And she did. With no siblings of her own, she treated Jiyuu as both a friend and little brother.. Helping her mother take care of him whenever Gouman and Tsukiya were too busy or away on a mission. The two grew rather attached to each other, making the arrival of Naoto's seventh birthday and enrollment in the shinobi academy that much more painful. Days would pass where only Akemi would show up to babysit Jiyuu while Naoto was at school or out training. She showed promise, just as the council had first thought. Excelling in Ninjutsu and Taijutsu and receiving above average or average marks in every other area. She was a prodigy of sorts, but she wasn't without her flaws. Bukijutsu and Puppetry were her worst areas. Weapons only slowed her down and she never could quite find the use for them. Preferring more fluid, acrobatic movements to any form of Bukijutsu. As for puppetry, it was both lack of talent and interest that earned her only passing marks. It was her last year at the academy when Jiyuu enrolled at the age of seven. But the poor boy landed himself in trouble on the first day. Being his upperclassmen, there was a lot of Jiyuu's schooling she just didn't see. And many situations she didn't hear about until after the fact. But the nonsense of calling Jiyuu a 'monster' was something that refused to tolerate. And Naoto quickly made any man who dared refer to Jiyuu as a 'monster' eat their words. Resulting in her being known as a rather rough girl, rather than some prim, proper, elegant lady. And outside of school, she was the only one brave enough to spar with Jiyuu. Prompting Gouman to ask that she assist in his training. At the age of eight, Naoto passed the academy exams on her first try with high marks. Only furthering her title as a child prodigy. Her clan was all too proud, and performed the coming of age ceremony in which the clan's mark was tattooed upon her left hip in kanji. She was quickly placed on a Genin team, and remained on this Genin team for two years. It was at this time, at the age of ten, that the Chunin exams rolled around. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that Naoto would pass. That is, had she ever enrolled. Much to the surprise of well, everyone; Naoto didn't participate in the Chunin exams. Instead she watched as her fellow teammates advanced, and allowed herself to be placed on a new Genin team. All the while enduring intense training to join the Protector Sect of the Tsubasa Clan. Her rank in the shinobi system meant very little to her in comparison to helping her clan and to upholding it's beliefs. Within the protector sect she was able to hold her own, but still went through rigorous training. Tsukiya Tsubasa, Jiyuu's older brother, assisted in her training. Giving her a chance to finally meet and train with the heir of the clan who always seemed so busy, despite being such a prankster and laid back guy. It was likely both her connections to the brothers, one an heir and the other second in line, and her sheer talent that earned her a spot on the Council of Ten as an apprentice at the age of twelve. It was a feat only previously attained so early by a handful of other clansmen. Most notably, Tsukiya Tsubasa, who turned down the offer. Naoto, however, accepted the apprenticeship at the recommendation of Gouman himself. Swearing she would make the clan proud, she began doing private clan missions alongside missions with her Genin team. These missions ranged from petty deliveries on Gouman's behalf, to assassination missions of men she never asked the name of. All just shy of thirteen. She'd become Gouman's perfect pawn, all the while growing closer to Jiyuu. But at the age of thirteen, Gouman assigned her, her most difficult mission yet. It involved relocating to Kirigakure, where she would shed all ties to Konoha and become a full-fledged Kirigakure Genin. She would be moving into a home along Ryoshi Coast by the fishing docks. And a man by the name of Hiyoshi Kawasaki would be acting as her caretaker and 'father'. It was a role that tasted bitter to the girl who had just recently lost her father to natural causes. A sickness that had left him weak and dying shortly after her birth. She'd been at peace when passed, knowing he would no longer suffer. But she was far from ready to call someone else "Otou-san". Let alone move in with him and play out some awful father/daughter scenario just to convince the Mizukage and the rest of Kirigakure that she had no ulterior motives. That she was, in fact, the daughter of Hiyoshi Kawasaki. And that she was loyal to Kirigakure and it's Kage. But that wasn't all that bugged her. Leaving Konoha meant so much more than leaving her clansmen behind. It meant leaving him. The day she was assigned her mission, she visited Jiyuu. He was training hard, as always, and she playfully claimed Gouman had asked she check up on his training. Much to Jiyuu's surprise, it lead to the two sparring. Though there wasn't quite a clear winner, when the two had finished, she treated him to dinner. It was affectionate, but Jiyuu was oblivious to her advances as usual. But with her purpose for visiting him being 'goodbye', it eased her mind to know that he'd get along fine without her. Before she returned to her own home that night, she gave Jiyuu a light kiss on the cheek, and a small pep talk about behaving and training hard. When he awoke the next morning, she was already long gone. Off on a mission he would never hear about. And one she may never return from. Naoto arrived in Kirigakure under the cover of night. She'd made the trip alone, as the clansmen didn't want to risk sending an escort with her, and they trusted in her abilities. And though she'd been cautious, the trip hadn't been without it's bumps. Small specks of blood could be found on her clothing, and her knuckles were bruised and cracked, a sure sign she'd hit someone hard enough to fracture a bone. She arrived at a small shack along the coast where the smell of fish and salt never quite left your nose. But Hiyoshi assured her that with time, she'd get used to it. Not that she listened. For the first time in her life, Naoto felt the need to rebel. And unfortunately for old man Hiyoshi, she was rebelling against him. The only thing she seemed to accept, albeit begrudgingly, was her alias: Teru Kawasaki. Shortly after her arrival in Kirigakure, Teru was put through the shinobi academy once more. She excelled, and was put through an accelerated course that allowed her to finish in one year, rather than two. Unfortunately this drew quite a bit of unwanted attention, but a fourteen year old Genin passing the academy made sense. And though she was careful not to outshine her new teammates while on missions, the gap in talent was clear. She passed the Chunin exams at the age of fifteen, and proceeded to continue doing missions for Kirigakure in an effort to prove her loyalty. Though requesting a bribe for a few troublesome shinobi had been quite helpful, Teru achieved the amount of trust she has today through her actions. Now eighteen, she is a newly promoted Jounin awaiting a Genin team of her own. All the while collecting information and awaiting orders from the council. | ooc info ☆ NAME Fumiko ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS Fumiko @meitachibana Keiko Hana @yukiko Suzune Oda @kazama ☆ FACE CLAIM code geass kallen stadtfeld, naoto tsubasa THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO Fumiko.
