SO I CAN'T LIVE, SO I CAN'T LIVE そう無くしたモノはもう産まれない
SO I CAN'T LIVE, SO I CAN'T LIVE 生きてる証さえ求められない歌 LET'S PUT AN END ... THE FINAL. Kawasaki Teru.
That was their name, or so Himawari had been informed, a piece of parchment containing the information for the time and place of their official team meeting. Upon receiving and comprehending it, Himawari had almost let out a bewildered sigh. After all this time, Team Two was finally getting a sensei. It was both relieving and frightening. At long last, they were going to be led and trained by someone more experienced―it wasn't as if Ienori and she had been terrible on their own, but nothing had beat proper training from an actual teacher—yet, at the same time, from her time together with Ienori… well, it can be clearly deduced that neither of them really took well to strangers.
“Are you meeting your sensei?” Hikari asked, stopping her half-sibling at the gates of the compound. From the looks of her clothes, she had been training. Most likely with Haruki. (The thought makes Himawari almost grimace enviously.)
“I am,” the blue-eyed girl replied. “I don’t know what this sensei will be like so… I don’t know if I’ll be back in time for dinner. I’ll see you.”
Hikari simply smiled and nodded, and with a wave, Himawari quickly Shunshin’d herself towards the same vicinity of the restaurant Kawasaki Teru had chosen for them. Though, she was considerate enough to actually properly weave through the streets to make her way to the actual establishment. It was in the midst of the Residential Area of Kirigakure and although the citizens were quite used to shinobi hopping around from one roof to another, suddenly appearing in the middle of the streets would be most inconvenient.
(Himawari briefly flashbacked to her days as an Academy Student, when she had once accidentally body flickering herself in front of an herbalist on a bike.)
Pushing the noren aside upon her entry, Himawari quickly scanned the area for any signs of Ienori. Searching for her sensei would have been most practical if he hadn’t shown up yet—though, it was Ienori, and Ienori was almost always earlier than her—it wasn’t as if Himawari knew what she, or he, looked like. Luckily, at a table at the corner of the restaurant, sat Ienori, his distinctive ponytail high in the air and all; her suspicions were confirmed.
Side-stepping an exiting patron, Himawari made her way towards the back of the restaurant, finding it slightly amusing that the seating was so fitting of them. A flash of worry did hit as she wondered if their sensei would be, for a lack of better wording, an asshole but she reminded herself that they were shinobi and if that came to be, they had to endure it.
“Good afternoon, Hoshino-san,” Himawari greeted politely upon arriving at the table. She waited some form of acknowledgement from him before taking the seat next to him, somehow figuring that it would be most befitting for their sensei to sit across from them.
“Are you ready to meet our sensei?” Himawari asked conversationally after placing an order for a green tea. It would have been very rude to begin eating without the last of their group arriving. “Hopefully they’ll be… bearable at the very least. But with the Chuunin Exams coming up... and I'd really like to participate in them this time... I suppose we can't be finicky...”

pay the price for my affliction. Ienori sat, staring forlornly at his tea cup and tried not to fiddle with the tablecloth. He let out a sigh. To any other person, he would not have looked out of place in a bar amongst the damned who tried to drink away their troubles. ...Which he was trying to do, in a way. But nursing nonexistent tea didn't exactly make things any better; it just made him want to cry. Or hide in the men's restroom and pretend that he forgot to show. Or both. At this point, he could only hope that it was Himawari who showed up first, because he didn't think he could bear with the thought of being awkward by himself with the new sensei.
Truth be told, Ienori had showed up at the restaurant the Jounin had chosen for the team a good hour or two earlier than the agreed time. He had been stressing about the meeting the moment he’d read the letter about the first official meeting. Kawasaki Teru. What type of person—heck, he didn’t even know what gender this person was—would he or she be? (He would tentatively settle for male just for ease of reference.) The teen knew more than enough to hope that their sensei would turn out to be someone good-natured. Too high of an expectation meant disappointment, and he wanted more than anything not to be disappointed by his new sensei. The only thing he could ask for was that his sensei would get along with him and his other teammate.
At that moment, said teammate decided to announce her presence with a greeting, effectively snapping the raven out of his thoughts. "Afternoon, Hirameku-san" he greeted in reply, smiling wearily. A great sense of relief flooded through him. He wasn't going to be awkward alone! And it was good for her to leave the other side of the table empty for their sensei, since it was, in a sense, more respectful. And okay fine, he'd admit it: he was actually kind of hoping Himawari would take the seat next to him, if she came earlier. And she had, and for that he was grateful.
"God, no," the raven sighed as Himawari made small talk, "I don't think I've ever been more nervous." The pot of tea came quick, and he moved to pour the younger girl and himself a cup, regardless of whether she wanted any or not. "Yeah, I know what you mean," he agreed. It went without saying that he, like most Genin looked forward to participating in the Chuunin Exam, and he was forever fearful that he and Himawari wouldn't meet the prerequisites. Call him a worrywart, but it had happened before, and he didn't quite want to stay a Genin forever. God knew that the pay was low enough, and he couldn't exactly rely on his guardian forever. "How about you? Are you ready?" | words: 484 tagged: Himawari Hirameku & Teru Kawasakinotes: Yer cool, we love ya; I'm awkward too. ...Screw Asian table etiquette because I don't.. *shakes head* |

WON'T YOU TURN MY SOUL INTO A RAGING FIRE
❝ "Heh~?" the redhead hummed, musing over the names of the two Genin she'd been assigned yesterday afternoon. Her promotion to Jounin had been rather recent, but they'd wasted no time in assigning her to a team of Genin. Why she'd been chosen over the older, more experienced Jounin in Kirigakure was beyond her. Perhaps they thought Teru would be able to better connect with the two due to how close they all were in age. Teru was only eighteen after all, and her Genin weren't far behind her. But age was no measure of skill. Teru had earned the confidence of not one, but two shinobi villages now. And her promotion to Jounin was only further proof of that. "Hirameku Himawari-chan~" she said aloud, dragging her finger down a small piece of parchment that listed two names. "And Hoshino Ienori-kun. Hmmm~" she hummed, carefully folding the small piece of paper and putting it away in her pocket. The Hirameku Clan, despite being settled in Kirigakure no Sato, was a clan of lightning rods. Ienori, on the other hand, had no such ties to a clan or even really a family. Poor thing, she thought, frowning slightly. Her clan was everything to her. But this boy had nothing after losing his family. That is, until he was adopted. She could only hope the two would like her, and let her in. A quick look through their files had proved very...revealing. The walk to the restaurant she'd chosen for their first meeting had been a long one. Unlike most of the shinobi in Kirigakure who lived in the Residential District (a ten minute walk from the market and most of Kirigakure's restaurants), Teru lived on the coast by the fishing docks (a good thirty minute walk from the market). It was nothing a Shunshin no Jutsu couldn't have fixed, but she'd decided to take the scenic route. Allowing her Genin, who were already familiar and comfortable with each other, to arrive first. Entering the restaurant, her blue eyes flicked about the room in search of her team. She'd seen their pictures in their file, and was able to quickly spot them in the back of the restaurant. "Good afternoon!" she greeted them as she neared their table, lips curved upward in a bright smile. She took her seat across from the two of the Genin, enjoying the scent of fresh brewed tea. "My name is Teru Kawasaki, and I'll be acting as your sensei from this point on. You can just call me Teru-sensei!" she briefly introduced herself, making eye contact with a waiter who took that as a sign that their entire party arrived. He quickly brought over three menus before bowing slightly, leaving the three to decide on their order. "Don't be shy," she grinned, opening the menu and scanning over her favorite dishes. "Order as much as you'd like!" she reassured them, ordering a variety of barbeque to share with them. After the three had ordered, a silence fell upon the table that just didn't sit right with Teru. Ah, conversations starters. Ice breakers. They were horrible, but very necessary. "Hm~ While we wait for food, I want you to tell me two things. First, what you expected I was like before meeting me. And two, what you'd like to accomplish as a team."ooc: I'm sorry this took so long! tags: Himawari Hirameku, Ienori HoshinoMADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

SO I CAN'T LIVE, SO I CAN'T LIVE そう無くしたモノはもう産まれない
SO I CAN'T LIVE, SO I CAN'T LIVE 生きてる証さえ求められない歌 LET'S PUT AN END ... THE FINAL. Himawari accepted the cup wordlessly with a nod in thanks; she had long since grown accustomed to her teammate’s mothering ways and most of the times, it was actually welcomed. Ienori shouldering most of the responsibility for the team made life easier for her, sans the times when he was too motherly when he suffocated her with his nagging. She did not envy the person he would fall in love with, that was for sure.
“I don’t know,” she said vaguely before taking a sip of her green tea, not at all bothered by the liquid scorching her tongue. “But… it’s not like we have a choice.”
They’ve gone for too long without a sensei and they really weren’t getting any younger. Her clan had expected her to be at least Chuunin by this age, but her late-brother was the prodigy, not her. And honestly, she didn’t actually mind it. Thoughts of quitting had been popping up here and there as of recent—no more missions of redundant objectives or fatal risk, no more dealing with the Hirameku, no more pressure—but they had always followed waves of guilt that convinced her otherwise. She almost felt obligated to at least reach Chuunin for the sake of everyone who had supported her thus far.
But then again, most of them were dead so did it really matter?
She had tended to their graves early this morning at dawn, telling them of how they’d finally been assigned a new sensei—though they were still without a third member—despite how foolish she felt speaking aloud to herself. Life went on after Team Two had been cut in half, yet the past year after losing them felt like Ienori and she were stuck in a strange limbo. Their assignment to Kawasaki Teru was felt like a finalisation that Team Two no longer consisted of the four people smiling and grinning in a photo sat on her dresser.
It didn’t feel right, but again, that didn’t matter.
Her mouth opened to say something else, but her thought process was soon broken by the entrance of a red-haired teenage—by the entrance of their new sensei. Himawari couldn’t help but note how bright her smile was, but it still didn’t eliminate them from being an asshole though.
“Hirameku Himawari,” she responded out of politeness. It wasn’t as if their new sensei hadn’t known that already. “Please take care of us from now on.”
The woman—or should it be girl? she looked like a teenager, looked like their age—and her large grins had Himawari assuming she would be a warm person. So, perhaps, Teru wasn’t a blatant asshole but that didn’t mark her off to be some sadistic creature with some odd dark side beneath it all. That was how their previous sensei had been after all. Though, honestly, Himawari would have preferred a gruffer sensei if it kept her from constantly comparing Teru to their previous one.
“Order as much as you’d like!”
Yes, just a bit too much like Makoto-sensei. It made her feel uncomfortable, though it did not allow it to show.
A white eyebrow was raised at Teru’s questions, unsure as to how they should be answered. Did it matter what they thought she would be prior to her arrival? It seemed redundant. But the second question had Himawari feeling slightly awkward. I suppose saying that I’m not too concerned in accomplishing anything in particular would be a bad answer, Himawari thought slightly exasperated.
“Perhaps your age,” Himawari finally said after a long pause and a bit of scrutiny. Teru was quite young. Makoto-sensei had been young as well, but not so young. Usually Jounin assigned to Genin teams had quite a few years of experience before having a three kids attached to them. “To accomplish as a team… I have nothing particular in mind.”
They were bland answers, but it was all she could do.
Wryly, Himawari thought how unfortunate for someone as seemingly energetic as Teru to be stuck with such a reserved team. She wasn't cruel enough to say the wrong ones came home from the mission, but it sure felt like it.

pay the price for my affliction. His answer came as a sigh, and even had he not had the time to speak, his resignation was clear. "I guess you're right," he agreed, voice hushed. "It can't be helped." If he had a say, he'd have stayed sensei-less if he could, if only to stay loyal to the dead and their memory. Not that that would get him very far in life, but he had been more than prepared to rely on only his... ex-sensei's teaching. He'd make them proud, and if he stayed a Genin forever in the process, then screw that, he didn't care. There was no shame in being a Genin anyway, he'd just add back to the community in a different way. He just didn't want to forget them, and if a new sensei or third teammate came around, it felt like he had simply found an substitute to replace those memories.
As much as he claimed to turn a blind eye to the past, he still didn't want to let it go. Team Two was the silly team, the team that obsessed with flowers and, as much as he hated to say it, crossdressing. Team Two was springtime youth. Or well, it had been. The spring now only brought the brightly blooming flowers they'd planted, and time could never return youth to the two that had been left behind. And though the raven had been living in the past for what some said was a year too long, he knew his pale-haired teammate was just as clingy, even if she denied it like he did. That in itself seemed more than enough to justify his yearning, and he only worried and cared for Himawari more. He didn't want to lose what was left of the original team.
A chirpy greeting tore the Mokuton user away from his pensive thoughts, and he warily looked up. This new "Teru-sensei" was far younger than he had expected, and didn't look much older than himself. Mixed feelings accompanied the revelation, as it could only mean one of two things: a) "Teru-sensei" was more than talented, so talented that the Mizukage had felt her capable of taking care of two Genin, or b) the Mizukage was condemning them and had sent yet another sensei for them to finish. It made him all the less willing to put his heart on the line and trust this woman, no girl, and he regarded her with a hint of apprehension in his eyes.
"Hoshino Ienori," he introduced himself, following Himawari's own greeting. Considering the redhead had known who to make a beeline for, however, he had a feeling that such a gesture was a bit unnecessary, if only just a way to be polite. "Thank you for having us. Tea?" The last question was tacked on as another polite gesture, and the raven raised teapot a bit to emphasize his question. It was also his way of trying not to feel too perturbed by how.... bright their new sensei would be. It made the feeling that he was trying to replace Mako-sensei again, and he fought down the wave of hostility that arose within him at that thought.
Ignoring the statement about ordering as much as the two wanted, Ienori turned his attention on the redhead's two questions instead. Though the latter sort had been expected (though as a team..?), the first had not. Why did she care about what they thought of her before her arrival? It wasn't like it mattered, as they were basically stuck with her either way. Evidently, her youth was not something the two had considered, and that made the raven wonder if "Teru-sensei" just wanted to hear them acknowledge said youth. Hmm. When answering the redhead's questions, Ienori echoed his teammate's replies.
"I admit that I was a little surprised that you appear as young as we do," he agreed, albeit a bit grudgingly. "As for the latter question, I echo Hirameku's sentiments." That was about as much as he was saying, and he had his reasons. Like he'd thought before, expectation mostly led to disappointment, and disappointment wasn't exactly a pleasant feeling. In all truth, the most he could ask for was that none of them died, but he wasn't about to voice that thought aloud. | words: 713 tagged: Himawari Hirameku & Teru Kawasakinotes: Sorry for lateness. Sorry for the rather redundant post, though I can't say much else since the two are basically in the same boat. o/ |
