GIVE ME MILES AND MILES OF MOUNTAINS AND I'LL ASK FOR THE SEA ❝ Part 1: Embarking on an adventure! Amegakure no Sato hadn’t earned its name for sunshine and droughts, so it was no surprise to Fumiko that when she’d stepped just outside the inn, that it was still raining. The woman at the front desk of the inn had all but scowled when she saw that the young blonde intended to venture out again. Not wanting to lose yet another umbrella, the woman disappeared into a back room before emerging with a tan cloak. It wasn’t anything special. The cloak was tan and clearly used, its edges showing wear and tear, and a hood twice the size of Fumiko’s head. But more importantly, it was water proof. The woman held it out for a moment, but upon realizing that Fumiko was only going to continue standing there, staring at it, she slowly moved to wrap the cloak around the Genin. Carefully making sure her hair was tucked under the cloak, and that the backpack she wore was covered. It was quite the feat considering Fumiko had been holding Shi the entire time. The woman hadn’t shrieked even once, though she could feel the woman shake as her trembling fingers wrapped the cloak around her. “You stay warm now.” The woman chided warmly, ruffling Fumiko’s hair and allowing her to leave. “Shi,” the girl spoke, her voice nothing more than a hushed whisper. But her golden companion hissed his response, coiling around her body from underneath the safety of her cloak. The Inland Taipan favored warm, sunny weather to the rain. And this whole adventure was bound to make for one grumpy snake. “Now to find Kazu-sama.” She thought aloud, pulling her hood over her head and stepping out onto the streets of Amegakure. Before the two had separated, she’d tagged the Mizukage with a bit of tracking dust. Shōton: Chakra Senro, a jutsu she’d created herself, despite her youth. One of the jounin sensei in Iwagakure had classed the technique as a C-Rank sensory jutsu, and rightfully so. What with its small range of 400m, and the simple fact that crystal particles were easily rubbed off. But even now she could still vaguely sense the strong, white colored chakra of the Mizukage. He was likely on the border of her range, but unfortunately the imperfect sensory jutsu was showing several bodies. Did the particles rub off on others? she thought, her lips curving downward into a slight frown. She’d anticipated something like this, but that didn’t change the fact that she’d have to check every single person that the crystal particles were on. It wasn't like her to be so nervous, but the prospect of losing Kazu amongst the crowd forever was...troubling. But there was no point sulking. She was only wasting valuable time. Shaking her head and her thoughts away, the young Genin set off in the direction of the body of chakra closest to her. tags: Kurayamiooc: the adventures of da babeh fumiko during da summit MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

GIVE ME MILES AND MILES OF MOUNTAINS AND I'LL ASK FOR THE SEA ❝ Part 2: Kazu-sama, where are you?
“E-Excuse me,” the small blonde murmured, reaching a hand out to tug at the side of the cloak of a tall man walking down the streets of Amegakure. She flanked him on his left side, and barely reached above his hip. Though Kazu had spent a great deal of time moving about or kneeling down during their interaction, she remembered characteristics such as his approximate height and weight with dangerous accuracy. It came with the amount of books the Genin had consumed. She was an intellectual with an insatiable curiosity. And memorizing things like the physical characteristics of a person came easy. This man in both height and build fit the bill, but the second he opened his mouth, she knew she’d stopped the wrong person. “Whaddaya want?” the man’s voice was gruff and annoyed as he whipped around, wrinkling his nose as a few drops of rain hit his face. He looked down at the child who’d pulled at his cloak with an icy glare, waiting for a response. “Sorry,” she said, bowing her head ever so slightly as a sign of apology. “Huh?” the man huffed, scowling and cupping his ear. Clearly frustrated by the child who had tugged at his fine cloak and was far too quiet to hear over the heavy rainfall. Fumiko slowly unlatched her hand from his cloak, taking a small step backwards and maintaining eye contact with the grumpy stranger. “Damn child,” he huffed, rubbing the edge of his cloak where her hand had just been. Grumbling about…keeping her dirty paws off, or something. Fumiko watched him in silence. Violet orbs analyzing his face, quickly coming to the conclusion that the stranger wasn’t Kazu. Breathing a soft sigh, she looked to the sky momentarily. Blinking every so often as a drop of rain hit her eyes. That was already the third one tagged by my technique, she thought with a frown. The rain was as heavy as ever, and the chakra signatures of those tagged by her technique were growing weaker and weaker as the crystal particles washed off their clothes. Soon enough she wouldn’t be able to sense anyone. He was going to get away… “You…bitch!” the words cut through her thoughts like a sharp knife as the man snarled, an arm flying out from underneath his cloak and grabbing her by the throat. Onlookers shrieked, frightened by the sudden showing of violence. And despite the blatant size and power difference, no one dared intervene. Everything seemed to freeze in place for the brief, fleeting moment his hand gripped her throat. “You’re a pickpocket, aint’cha?!” he yelled, accusing her of something she clearly hadn’t done. Perhaps her small stature made it seem as though she was easily taken advantage of. And now that he’d made it close quarters, she didn’t stand a chance. Her gaze met his, but unlike his icy glare her face showed no emotion. No fear, and no sorrow. This only seemed to aggravate the man more, and his grip tightened as he continued to slur out angry accusations. Ah, she could smell it now. Being held up so high had brought her just inches from his mouth, and she could smell the alcohol, heavy and bitter in his breath. She wrinkled her nose at the awful smell, which must have displeased him. But he’d already gone too far. Amongst his screaming and the rain, he hadn’t heard the small whimper that left her lips. Or the angry snake that shook and hissed beneath her cloak, coiling around her and searching for a way out. Searching for his prey.Abruptly Shi shot out from the front of her cloak. A golden flash quickly shielding her face from view as the inland taipan bared his fangs, striking at the man’s hand once as a warning. He screamed obscenities as he jerked his hand away, taking the eight foot long snake with him. Fumiko was thrown to the ground, her cloak shielding her backside from the wet ground. Strands of blonde hair clung to her face as she turned onto her side, gasping for air. When she finally looked up, Shi had coiled around the man’s arm. Cutting off all circulation and sinking his fangs into the man’s other arm as he struggled to yank the snake off. Which was easier said than done. Shi was extremely protective of his human partner, and the man had pissed the snake off. “Shi, yield.” A small voice called, barely audible amongst the whispers of the crowd and the scream of pain from the man who’d assaulted her. But Shi heard her. Somehow, he always did. The snake was thrown to the ground, and he quickly coiled defensively, giving one last warning hiss as the man stumbled backward. The effects of the venom finally robbing him of his balance, and causing him to feel ill. He continued to stumble backwards until he fell into a keg of beer, left right outside a bar. And Shi quickly returned to his owner, hissing about the rain as he quickly coiled around her and beneath her cloak. Pushing herself off the cold, wet ground, she darted off in a flash. Her strides unsteady as she struggled to balance beneath the weight of the heavy snake who was still shifting beneath her coat. He’d bitten someone! And that never ended well. She risked losing Shi, but even worse, being thrown out of Amegakure or locked away. I can’t! she thought, feeling more determined than she ever had. Ever since Umashi had taken her from Iwagakure, she’d been braver. Felt things she’d never felt. And though she still couldn’t quite describe why, or even understand it, she wanted to be by Kazu’s side. I can’t…be stopped here. I’m sorry. In the distance she could sense two others. But the ‘signal’ was growing faint, and she was running out of time. Please let this next one be him. I’ve only got time to check one!tags: Kurayamiooc: ohsnap don't fuck wit da snake yo MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

GIVE ME MILES AND MILES OF MOUNTAINS AND I'LL ASK FOR THE SEA ❝ Part 3: Chasing the White Dragon Darting through the streets of Amegakure, she was headed in the direction of the stronger of the two chakra signatures. She could only hope this meant the shinobi himself had a larger chakra pool. Though it was very possible that she merely sensed more of this individual’s chakra due to the the particles on the other dissipating. From this distance she couldn’t tell the color of their chakra either. Leaving this all up to guess work. How frustrating… she thought, her pace slowing. The missing-nin didn’t pride herself on her athletic abilities. And if she were to brag about anything of the sort, it certainly wouldn’t be her ability to run long distance. A few harsh coughs shook her chest as she slowed to a brisk walk, desperately trying to stabilize her breathing. It was the result not unlike those who decided to pick up running as their exercise choice…for the first time in years. ”E-Eh..?” she paused, freezing in place. Chakra. This wasn’t the pure, white chakra of Kazu-sama. It was something far more dark and sinister. Slowly turning her head upwards towards a nearby roof, she caught site of three people. Not a single one bore any markings of a shinobi, though two were armed with blades. But all three had far larger chakra pools than your average civilian. Though one in particular- Black. she shivered as her violet orbs took in the site of a blonde man dressed in formal robes. Fumiko had never known fear, but everything in her body screamed at her to run. Screamed at her that this man was someone to be feared. He was powerful. Anyone with a shred of skill for sensory could see that. And his chakra, black as night, only further served to make him appear fearsome. The three appeared to be having a conversation, but soon the other two had disappeared. Leaving only the blonde to stand and watch. Her gaze followed the two to a nearby skyscraper. ”There…” she whispered, sensing the mixture of her chakra from her chakra senro and the large chakra pool she’d been tracking earlier. Unlike the two who had just been on the roof and used a quick Shunshin no Jutsu to arrive at the building, it took Fumiko much longer. Walking with the small strides her height of only five feet had cursed her with. With each step she could feel his chakra waning, but her legs refused to carry her there any faster. Boom. The explosion occurred suddenly, setting off a series of explosions that coiled through and around the skyscraper. Within minutes the building was surrounded in black smoke and raging red flames. Pieces of the structure fell to the ground, and Fumiko watched in disbelief as the building was leveled. From the wreckage came several bodies, jumping out and landing roughly before running off. They appeared to be in a hurry. And for a building that large, there were so few that had escaped. And then, ”Kazu-sama!” she yelled, though Fumiko’s idea of raising her voice was akin to the normal volume one would use indoors. The effects of her sensory jutsu had completely worn off now. No doubt caused by the amount of dust and smoke that clung to Kazu’s white hair and sullied coat. But she could see him clearly now as he jumped out of the wreckage, darting off with a woman in blue. His chakra was hard to miss amongst all the black. The pure white chakra juxtaposed to the tragic scene. But his speed was only increasing, and she had little time to sit here and gawk at the leveled building. Curious as she was, the Mizukage was nearly out of eye sight now. ”Wait for me…” she called out softly, using a Shunshin no Jutsu in attempt to close a large chunk of distance before continuing her pursuit. tags: Kurayamiooc: ohoho~ fumi saw something she shouldn't haaaaave.
