biography On July 24th Reiji and Harune Oda were located at the Konoha Hospital with Harune at the brink of giving birth to their first child. Harune had been in labor for over 10 hours and the married couple worried if their firstborn would be ok but was constantly consoled by the doctors and nurses that everything would be ok. After pushing and pushing, finally, Jonetsu would be born on July 24th at 11:00pm exactly into the Oda clan main branch. Reiji was a renowned longbow user known for his explosion release techniques and his extremely long range attacks. Harune married into the clan at a young age but had known Reiji since their academy days. One could say that a childhood crush that Reiji had on the beautiful Harune would bring birth to one of the greatest bow users to ever come out of the Oda clan. The first thing that the doctors and the couple saw after birth was the radiant, opalescent eyes that stunned everybody in the room. From a young age, Jonetsu was seen as a prodigy. Whether it came to his studies, his training, or his shrine duties, he always did everything to perfection which his father knew would become his greatest asset. Given his keen eye for perfection, Reiji introduced Jonetsu to the bow very early, earlier than most Odas are introduced to weapons and he picked up on archery beautifully. When it came to school, Jonetsu followed every instruction flawlessly and absorbed every lesson with minimal effort. He seemed so perfect that other students called him a robot and Jonetsu wasn’t quite sure how to respond to their remarks. He decided that he would hide his normally serious and antisocial personality behind a more outgoing and friendly face. This shift worked well to his advantage because he was able to understand and realize at a young age that there is a time and place for everything and that being diligent and hardworking are not the only traits a ninja is required to have. They must be able to adapt to any situation and blend in to their surroundings. As a young boy growing up he had seen the heiress Suzune Oda but he had never spoken with the girl. She was only one year younger than him and as far as he could tell, she was quite the brat, but she was also honest, whether it be good or bad. The only thing that had been on Jonetsu’s mind since he was a child was his clan, training, and his studies, and certainly not girls especially at a young age but there was something that piqued his attention in the young heiress. One day, as he was cleaning around the shrine for worship, he saw someone sitting on the steps that lead down from the temple. As he approached the figure, he saw and heard that it was a girl around his age pouting about something. As he got closer she turned around and he saw her face all puffed up in frustration. He immediately knew who it was; Suzune Oda. He squatted down a few feet away from her and looked at her with a blank face asking why she was there alone. She gave him the cold shoulder and a “hmph”. From behind her, she heard him say “lets both head back to the main house, I’m sure your father is waiting for you”. He grabbed her hand and ran back to the main house. This was how the two first interacted together. Jonetsu continued to grow up and get stronger. He gave his all towards mastering his bow and was placed onto a team with two other students from his class during his time in the academy and a lazy sensei. They went on low ranking missions and Jonetsu started to get bored with his team so he made minimal effort to get to know his teammates and sensei. Instead of using his free time hanging out with his teammates, he would devote his time to training and shrine duties. After some time had passed, the Chuunin exams rolled around. Presented with a chance to test himself against others, he and his team entered. The team exams were easy enough and presented little challenge. During the last phase, there was a tournament. Blowing through each opponent, he reached the finals and was met with another strong ninja. After a long fight, Jonetsu was able to pull out on top and win the tournament. He was then promoted to Chuunin due to spectacular show of skills and far exceeded the level of genin. As Jonetsu was the only one on his team to get promoted, there was an awkward distance that grew between him and his teammates. They had always tried to have conversations with him but now it was as if he was being ostracized. This made missions very awkward and Jonetsu preferred to spend the least amount of time possible with his team. He was soon moved off of the team and another genin replaced him. The reasoning he was told was that his skills were wasted on the team but it mattered not to him. At this point, his father started teaching him some of his techniques of the bow and during their training, he developed a newfound power; Explosion release. His father was gifted in this as well so it only made sense that he too would acquire it. Since Jonetsu no longer had a team, while he wasn’t training or doing clan duties, he would amuse the heiress Suzune, listening to her rants, and dealing with her emotional outbreaks all with a smile on his face. These were Jonetsu’s best memories and even with his rigorous training to master the bow and explosion release, the most fun he had had in years dealing with the little bundle of emotions named Suzune. She too had lost her team but in a much worse form but she was to receive a new sensei and teammate soon and he was very happy for her but the name of her teammate brought worry to his face; a Tsubasa. Jonetsu knew nothing about the young Tsubasa except that he was the next in line for the clan head, that his brother was a missing-nin, and that he was the same age as Suzune. The clan in name itself did not have a good reputation either. Worried, he went to Suzune’s father, Hajime, the Clan head and requested Suzune not to be put on the same team as a Tsubasa but was told that even he himself had no say in the matter. Frustrated, he went to the Hokage himself and asked the same thing he asked Hajime but was denied on the spot. Even more frustrated, with his head down he thought quickly. Raising his head with determination in his eyes, he requested to be put on the same team instead. The Hokage, Ryoko Kaminaga agreed and sent him out the door.
