Welcome
some intro,
Welcome to Unison Sign! We are a reimagined Naruto site taking place in an alternate world to the one from the canon. The continent we live on has greatly destabilized since the emergence of chakra. Bijuu now roam the earth and secrets from centuries ago are being discovered. To protect themselves and to better prepare for the road ahead, clans of shinobi have started to band together in groups and are setting up villages in which they can reside free of discrimination. Join us as we build this world from the ground up.

OUT OF CHARACTER! Unison Sign is officially open! We've completely overhauled the site giving it a new look, new backstory, and new role playing system. We're still rolling out information posts and making changes to the board but feel free to get started on your characters and jump into the role play whenever you're ready. Make sure you are familiar with all of our new threads before you do though!
IN CHARACTER With the release of the bijuu and chakra reappearing in humans, the world has become incredibly unstable. To protect themselves from discrimination and prepare for the trials ahead clans of shinobi have started to gather together to form villages. Two villages already exist and this has put pressure on other clans to start to come together under their own banners. Will you help create these villages or do everything you can to stop them?

Oh, that smile. That incredibly mischievous smile Kazu always wore when interacting with others. The more this conversation went on, the more it grew. An excitement began to grow within him. His stomach began to churn, and the hairs on his arms began to rise tall, standing up as though they were reaching for the heavens. Shivers weaseled beneath his skin throughout his body. This was an undesirable situation for Kazu to be in as a Kage. Personally, though, he quite enjoyed it. How was he going to about getting himself out of this. Kazu certainly didn't want to spark a war. The last thing he wanted was to toss his beloved village into a conflict with Iwagakure. Kazu glanced at his little companion, Fumiko. She was clearly curious about the situation. She obviously knew the man with brown hair, as Kazu could hear her whisper his name. Masaki. He clearly cared for Fumiko. By the looks of it, quite deeply as well. However, it was quite obvious that Masaki didn't think much of Kazu now. His words struck with a certain amount of anger. Kazu, still smiling, stepped forward. He had taken three steps towards the two Iwagakure shinobi. He stopped, glancing back at Fumiko with another smile. He then twisted his head about once more, switching his gaze back to the iwa shinobi. " Of course!" Kazu began. " I am not holding Fumiko against her will. This lovely lady can leave my side any time she wishes!" Kazu's face hardened a little more. His smile shrunk slightly, though it was still there. " Though, I'm confident she's already made her choice." Kazu's smile vanished now. He gazed upon the two Iwa shinobi coldly. He began to respond to Masaki's question of Kazu assaulting the Iwa Jounin in Amegakure. " I protected this young lady. In my efforts to save her, they attacked me. My life was in danger. Was I not to defend my own life?" Kazu began to smile softly once more. He turned to face the man with blue hair, fixing his gaze upon him. " Rest assured, she will be safe with me. If she left the village of Iwagakure without saying a word to you, or anybody else, then I think that speaks for itself. Don't you?" GIVE ME MILES AND MILES OF MOUNTAINS AND I'LL ASK FOR THE SEA ❝ Watching as Kazu took a few steps towards the Iwagakure shinobi, the fight from earlier played over in her mind. Would he kill them too? Perhaps he wouldn't. As this conversation had lasted far longer than the last, and the Lord Mizukage was being so kind as to give them a chance to leave with their lives. There was some sort of relief that came with that realization. Why...? she thought, brow furrowing as her gaze landed once more on her former sensei. The thought of his body cold and bloodied on the ground made her heart ache. But why? "Is this true, Fumiko? Those men tried to attack you?" the voice was foreign, flat and so lacking in emotion that it reminded her of her own tone. "Who are you?" she asked, violet gaze trained on her sensei's blue haired accomplice. Her curiosity outweighing her obligation to answer his question for the moment. Shi seemed to take her shift of attention rather seriously, and the inland taipan slowly uncoiled himself from around her body, slithering onto the ground and circling around her protectively, now that her shield had stepped away from her. "They attacked us," she started, recalling the man who had grabbed her in the alley. The loss of her umbrella the had introduced her to Kazu-sama. None of it scared her to recall. If anything she was numb to the entire ordeal. The gash on her arm the only reminder that any of it had been real. That any of it had really threatened her life. And that, for a moment, she'd wanted so greatly to protect him. Just like he protected her. "I want to stay with Kazu-sama," she started, stating the most important and debatable fact first. They had made Kazu out to be some criminal, and it was unsettling. "I don't want to go back. I want to stay by his side." she declared, her tiny hand balling into a determined fist. After making it this far, after experiencing so much... "Masaki-sensei?" she called out, directing any further discussion to him solely. "Do you remember my favorite book? Architecture of the Shinobi World. I'm finally seeing it. I don't want to stop seeing it. Please, don't make me go home!"

You got to cry without weeping Talk without speaking Scream without raising your voice At first Masaki didn't believe the words of the Mizukage, he did not look like the kind of man to be trusted, but as the Iwa jounin turned to look at his student, perhaps the Kage held a warped truth in his words. Besides this, it also struck Masaki odd that they would be attacked by Iwa shinobi in the first place and, excuse him for not trusting the pale leech in front of him, but there was more to this story than was being let on. Masaki was certain of it. “Defence may be one thing, your Lord, but this will be better cleared up with the presence of the Tsuchikage. Imagine if this was one of your genin, two of your own jounin, and all inside of your village, Mizukage. I have a feeling you too would want it sorted out properly,” Masaki was running through the formalities now, hoping that he could force order and law onto the Mizukage. It was at this point Masaki was thankful he’d been taken in by Iwagakure and not Kirigakure. How different his life might have turned out that way. But those hypothetical situations did not matter when presented with the reality of what was happening in front of him. Masaki turned to Kensaku, hoping that the other shinobi (a man who could weave logic and words as equally as well as Masaki) could chime in and help convince the Mizukage back to Iwagakure. They were closer to the village hidden in the rocks than they were to the village of mist and Masaki was positive the Tsuchikage would want to know about this situation. He had, after all, sent Kensaku and Masaki out to retrieve both Fumiko and the murderer. A ‘stand your ground’ argument against innocents never worked as solid evidence and so this needed to be investigated thoroughly. Masaki didn’t say anymore, however, when his student’s voice pricked the air like a needle. Viridian colored orbs honed in on Fumiko, pleading with her not to say what she was about to. How could Masaki teach her and show her love when she was somewhere else? But how could he refuse her from that wish? To bring her back to Iwa now would only destroy Fumiko, dissolving the glimmer of compassion inside of her like dust in a man’s hands. “I remember,” Masaki said dully as if the light from inside the teacher was leaking out. After all, a broken heart held many cracks. “Shōmyō Falls.” The Spider Sage sighed heavily, closing his eyes before looking at Fumiko. How could he force her back? How could he do that to her? In his eyes he hoped Fumiko would recognize that he would not. If he knew her, perhaps she would know him and take his gaze as it was intended despite the man not saying the words out loud. He would not force her back to Iwa. “Kensaku,” he stated weakly, hoping the other jounin would jump in. --- Ryuutarou Suoh, Kurayami, Fumiko - 491 - Abbot is posting next- they just wanted to switch order with me so Kensaku would have more to work with!
