I'm bored to death in heaven And down alone in hell I am the fallen angel The occasional call of nocturnal hunters were shallow in comparison to the scrapping steps of a human's feet. The glistening full moon soared the heavens, basking Oto no Kuni's irregular rice fields with a coat of silvery shine. The tranquil waters swirled with a rhythmical tune, taken to a dance with the gentle wind coming from the higher hills. Many species, such as the preying owls to the fidgety mice, trashed and played under the soft moonlight, caked by the obscure shadows and heavily disguised by them. It would be inevitable that the outburst and pleas of fallen prey would pierce the calm atmosphere, followed by the grunts and snarls of the victorious predator. Only a cold-hearted beast could enjoy the music such gore produced, and that very monster was proudly walking down a beat-up path that was traditionally attached to the labour fields beyond. A slender man of sculpted features, combed and sleek black hair and void, grey irises strolled as if the terrain was all his, drowning in the pleasure of hearing the blood-curling screams and sensing the merciless jaw of the hunter feast on its prey. Yes, this was surely the target. In the dark of the night and the scarce shrubbery that could only serve to shelter a family of foxes, two gleaming, magenta irises followed the silent ninja, the camouflaged girl's breathing synchronising with the noise of the gale. She was expertly hidden, as she mastered her ways of sly persecution. Now she could trace down a person with minimum effort, already having learnt where to place herself and how to control her several movements. This gained her an advantage over the sneaky male, who had been pacing through the land by the majestic dawn. He was so... calm and relaxed. Nothing disturbed him, nothing could've broken this zen mode. It was as if he was at perfect balance and harmony with the world, and it bothered her that he acted in such a way. So free and so indulgent. Pitiful. "My my, what a beautiful night, I say~!" He exclaimed in a toying tone, halting as he stretched his arms. He was off-guard, unprepared, and the only weapon on him had to be shurikens and kunais. Jena did not spot any grip of a much bigger weapon, and there were no special scrolls on him either. To think that this was the sadist that felt enthusiasm and zeal by hanging corpses on the streets of Otogakure. What a misery of a man, really. It disgusted her what he was capable of doing, his hand not trembling to continue his wretched customs. It was unbelievable that he so calmly took leisure at night with no Shinobi other than her to hunt him down. Well, the Oto-Nins did mention they were incapable of fighting the vicious male known as Aryu, so it was all up to her and her abilities. The fact that both of them heavily relied on Ninjutsu and Genjutsu was going to be an obstacle, and even more so considering that he could disable some of her attacks. It shocked her when he started laughing hysterically and maniacally out of nowhere, clutching his stomach as demonstration of his enjoyment. It ranged from the usual grumbling low voice to high-pitched and squeaky tones. Not only was he psychopathic, but uttermost nuts as well. What a thrilling combination, don't you think. He then stretched his back and giggled in an innocent manner. "You ain't fooling no one, tiny puppy," he sighed, still giving his back to the girl. She widened her eyes in disbelief. Had he seen her? No, impossible, he must've sensed her chakra. "Come on out, no sense in playing hide and seek now~." Why was it that every time she had excellent spying spots, someone had to blow them out? And 'little puppy' wasn't really a nickname she was open to accept, and snarled in dislike. Yet now what else could she do? Contradict a sadist and perhaps survive the try? In a flicker of shadows, Jena landed behind Aryu with her trusty Shunshin no Jutsu. He twirled around, a stare, a smile and a stance heavily judging her. It was outstandingly uncomfortable, and she began to imagine he was calculating the details to behead her without hassle... "So, little puppy," he playfully called out, straining to contain a bout of laughter. "What brings you to the mighty Aryu's presence? Did those Oto-Pricks send you my way? What're you going to do, kill me?" "I may perhaps so," she answered, keeping back any spine-chilling sensations the man's voice caused on her. "No hard feelings or anything, but it's sorta troublesome to have someone dirtying the streets every single morning." "Oh? What a shame~," his face dulled serious, crossing his arms and pouting his mouth. "Do they not like the gifts I leave them?" "That I cannot deny. I'm pretty sure you're worsening a poor street-cleaner's work." "I suppose I am, though, I couldn't really care less! Haha! They'll be forced to like my art, whether it dirties Otogakure or not." "Sorry pal, no can do about that," she snapped back, rapidly making her way to where he stood. Swinging the golden katana back and then aiming the man with all the strength in her frail arms, she noticed how he only lifted an arm as a reply. He allowed the sheath to dig into his skin, narrowing his eyes and smirking as his blood wetted her weapon. It was entirely bizarre that he didn't move out of the way or used a more practical item to deflect Yuugure. Was he also a masochist?! Well at least that would mean his death shall be enjoyable. She made sure to put pressure when she sliced down and returned the katana, opening the gash further more. He examined the wound made and did nothing more than drop his arm and wait. What was wrong with him, why wasn't he defending? Wait, could he be messing with her? Was he patiently looking for a way to discern her and open a possible spot for a killing blow? Was he looking forward to cause this type of self-discussion by his behaviour? "Stop fucking around! Fuuton: Kami Oroshi!" The Missing barked, displeased at the still opponent. Hiding Yuugure and performing hand seals, she pushed her hands forward to release a powerful vortex of wind headed straight to Aryu's position. He shrugged and pulled both arms in front, standing up to the Jutsu with muscular prowess she had never expected from him. He was dragged mere centimeters back before the gale vanished. As it did, he repositioned himself and shook his clothes as if he had only been scratched upon. Why he - ! There was no need in getting worked up at the situation, yet he was really getting on her nerves at the moment. "Are you actually trying your best~?" He furthermore nudged at her short-temper, gaining a frown and a growl from the depths of her throat. "Allow me to commence this spar." Disappearing in a flicker of movement, Jena blinked and seised the moment to closely inspect his current findings. However, the hiss of a speedy movement warned her of the incoming move. She turned her head right in time to glimpse the male rogue lifting his leg to deliver a crushing kick to her maw. Right in time, nonetheless, she raised her elbow in the air and her knee at the same time, bringing the limbs together to lock the foe's leg in the middle. She used her physical abilities to press hard on it, knowing fully well she had not the skill to fracture the bone yet and so desired to being a slightly lesser damage to the nerves and muscles. "H-Heh," he clenched his teeth, bearing the pain quite well. He quickly took out his leg from the Taijutsu and readied consecutive kicks to put her off balance. Yeah, trying to avoid that flurry of feet and knees was a difficult task for her, and her abdomen and waist got several hits from him. "Raiton: Turoneedo Raitoningu~," the man confidently spat, opening the palms of his hands and showcasing the crackles and sparks of tamed lightning. Oh Lord of Hell...! In a blink of the eye, a piercing jolt of lightning struck a portion of the clearing, very close to the female Shinobi. "Crap!" She cursed, watching where he would aim the next strike. Close to her, obviously. And she wasn't wrong, for he flung his hands forward, sending jagged lines of electrifying blue her way. Doing all she could to evade the constant strikes of electricity, she was shocked and burnt by two or three of them, yet disregarded the stingy pain for the sake of continuing. And just when she thought things couldn't worsen, he burst into laughter and performed a Shunshin no Jutsu, appearing behind her. "Genjutsu: Jubaku Satsu." Instantly the soil trembled. Causing cracks and indents, the bark of a robust tree shot up before her back, the thick branches reaching out to hold her. She was trapped between the mossy wood, and she wriggled a bit before giving her hopes up. In that second, Aryu surged from the tree, sticking right above her right shoulder. His hand reached down to a particular sword's grip, retrieving it and pronouncing, "Yoink, I'll be taking that!". Her eyes strained to see below, to watch as the golden blade of her own katana threatened her neck, to notice the maniac grin of Aryu as his left hand held her jaw and the right confidently grasped Yuugure. He provokingly brought it close to her throat, dangerously playing and giggling like the psychopath he was. "Look at you," his voice whispered threateningly in her ear. "So frail, so defenseless. I could end with your life if so I wished to." This was outright disgraceful, to have her own katana against her. In between his low laughs and taunting breaths, she tried to struggle free, only to find that was outright fruitless. "Tell me little puppy, what does this feel like? To be trapped and weak, to see that you have been chased to a corner?" "You know," she intervened with the interrogation, magenta irises locked on Yuugure. "I should be the one asking questions here. Why do you wander among these lands? Why do you do this?" "I suppose I could grant you your wishes for the time being. Let's see... I used to work for this grumpy asshole... Yasei was his name? I can't quite remember, haha~! It was all when one day this orange-haired ninja strolled by and foiled our plans... I realised then that I had some... opposing and clashing views with Boss. That's when I decided to leave him and show my wonderful gifts tot he world!" "Woah, wait up. Orange-haired ninja? Do you remember their name by any chance?" "I believe his last name was Tsuba-something. Ah, I seem to have forgotten!" Could it really have been Tsukiya? Had he really stopped a whole gang from continuing their messed up missions? Really, knowing the man he was apt to succeed in such, yet now that meant she had to fight this sadist imbecile. Bad excuse for a human... "Should I claim your head now~?" Aryu flatly inquired, smiling innocently. His eyes beamed, something she had not seen so amusing since the beginning. "I could just snip it off! Hmm, but, wouldn't it be easy then? Last Shinobi sure had a good night. We battled until dusk, and even then he still did not give up. Hammer was it that he was named? Nevertheless, I managed to cut his head off and then hung it in the Otogakure Main Gate!" H-H... Hammer...?! Wasn't he heavily guarded and kept in a dungeon? Maybe the stray had broke him out of the prison to fool him into his play-dates. But he was also very powerful, unless Aryu... "This is getting boring~. I'm going to release you, but promise you'll fight with all you've got, okay? If I enjoy it I'll give you a fascinating and glorious death. What do you say?" "... Beats getting murdered on a tree." "Haha, then let's get to it! Let's reach the climax of the blood-lust that calls to us!" And saying such sentences, the Genjutsu faded like ash in the wind, Jena dropping on the ground and hearing the rattling echo of the golden katana following her lead. She reached out to protect it, and placed it within its hold. She also picked up the steps of the man some distance away coming up to her, towering like a shadow. Hastily returning to her feet, she stepped back to retain some distance between the two, and she breathed deeply. "Kanashibari no Jutsu, Konoyarou!," clasping her hands together, the girl grinned in satisfaction. He had frozen for some moments, and she rapidly gathered wind pressure on the palm of her right hand. She rushed to him, pulling back and then slapping his face with force she had never reckoned before. He squinted his eyes in agony, knees bent slightly and a hand caressing the hurt cheek. Even so, Jena wouldn't let him wait any longer. "Kokuangyo no Jutsu!" Fluttering his eyes open, Aryu saw that his sight was blurred out, hazy and puzzling. He briskly glanced around, attempting to find the troublesome girl. "You think you'll get away? Heh, Bunshin no Jutsu," he exclaimed, puffs of smoke revealing clones of the sadist. This was perfect. "Meiton: Fuuru Bunshin, she announced, pulling off the glove of her left hand and absorbing chakra from the Bunshin. Then, moulding the energy to her appearance, Jena mirrored Aryu's face and body, exactly resembling one of the summoned copies. Now he was free of the Genjutsu, and was even more confused when the black hair and magenta eyes were no where to be seen. Just then, a gruesome sensation pierced his abdomen, following by a shrill pain stinging his nerves. He felt... warm all of the sudden, and the view before him swirled into darkness. Oh, what was going on? He tilted his head down, observing the golden shine of a narrow blade protrude from his own body. What a smart little puppy. He barely could twist his neck, side-glancing as one of his Bunshin dissolved and gave way to a now more recognisable Jena. She had taken advantage of the moment, and sneaked behind him with a clever disguise. She had really done it. She had given him the best fight of his life. But, could it really be over now? Did he have to perish right there and then? "Ghe... G-Ghk... Njutsu... Shi-Shira - Hk!" He attempted to proceed in the brawl, only to have the katana taken out of his meat, and his knees giving up on his weight, letting him collapse on the ground. The girl looked upon him, silently witnessing as the scarlet liquid oozed out from the fatal wound. His grey eyes aimlessly pointed at the sky, skin dulling in colour. "Oh... It's dark... It feels like I'm sinking into deep waters..." Aryu choked, a smile yet painted on his pale face. "Is this... death? I wonder... And so, Aryu... asks..." And he said no more, falling into the abyss of death. She sighed, summoning two clones to carry the body. She gave one final look to the sadist, and walked back to Otogakure without muttering a single word. Although the trek wasn't entirely long Jena had supposed they had been pacing alongside this corpse for nearly an hour, and that was when the distinguishable gates of the Sound Village protruded in the horizon. Her two clones quietly and obediently tagged behind, holding in their grasp the tall and slender body of the grey-eyed psychopath. The blood had been a chaotic subject, for it soaked nearly half the victim, and so spread unto their hands. She gave herself a reminder to bring gauzes next time to dodge such small problematic. Nearing Otogakure, a pair of guards widened their eyes at the incoming shadows, sharing short comments with each other. As soon as they were close enough, the two men nodded and uttered their gratitude, something she wouldn't expect. They permitted entrance, and it only required one step from the Missing to make all of the citizens present either crawl out of their homes or align themselves by the corner of the main street. The pointed and gaped in awe at the fallen Aryu, while others cried thanks and such. They looked... glad, their expressions told the story already. Some older ones bowed down to her, and she was unsure if it was out of respect or gratitude. She returned her sight to that of the path and focused on moving on to four figures some feet away; the Head Jounin and three Kage assistants. Only needing a brisk nudge of her head, Jena's two clones took the lead, once in front of the four Oto-Nins dropping the sadist's carcass on the dirt ground. They were stricken, amazed that she had survived the ordeal. One of them muttered, "She actually made it..." And another, "She really is the Girl from Hell, she killed Aryu..." To this murmuring between them, the girl's Bunshin vanished in wisps of smoke, the actual her stepping close to where Aryu lied in dead-silence. "You won't be having to deal with populace's bodies hanging around anymore," she solidly remarked, glancing momentarily below to the black hair and closed eyelids. "Aryu is dead, and if another imbecile comes around causing havoc I'll be here. I won't think twice to sink my blade in." The authorities were dumbfounded by her words, not dearing to speak. The Head Jounin, however, smirked after some seconds, crossing his arms. "And I'm sure you will," he said. "You are welcome to walk along Otogakure's streets. We are grateful of your services." "I only do my job." "Oh, of course, that reminds me," he turned to one of the Kage helpers, whom flung a brownish sac that clinked in the air. Then, once catching it in his hand, he also threw it to the female's. "Mission completed, Hoshikuzu."
