Masahiko Kichiro. The name had completely dominated Hisashi's thoughts over the last few days. He never before found himself so desperate to hunt down his target. It was all the more surprising considering how much experience he had in this particular. Kazuhiro Hisashi, often called Ryōken no Kiri, was no stranger to hunting down Missing-nin and yet here he was acting like some amateur pup. He was glad that no one from his village could see him now. Oh how they would have enjoyed the sight of acting like a rabid cur, frothing at the teeth. Hisashi had never cared much for his reputation and if anything had found it to be quite useful on occasion. People were less likely to run when they knew that one was relentlessness and merciless in their pursuit. The Kirigakure shinobi had earned his rank of Tokubetsu Jounin due to his ability to remain calm and composed when tracking rogue-nin down. He would simply have to chalk up the difference this time to the connection of his past. Fifteen years ago, Kichiro along with a group of other Missing-nin ambushed a convoy of Kiri shinobi guarding one of the local lords. Hisashi's father happened to be one of the Kirigakure-nin present and was subsequently killed in the ensuing ambush. It wasn't until later that Hisashi learned it was due to the fact that his father had shown mercy to one of the attackers. Hisashi's father was a talented medical-ninja and a compassionate individual; he had no place in the shinobi world as far as his son was concerned. The man's own weakness had got him killed and left Hisashi without both of his parents. Hisashi had never truly been able to understand his father but he couldn't deny their blood connection. The man's death had served as a catalyst in creating the shinobi that Hisashi would become today and despite all their differences, the man had been his father. Hisashi had only just entered the Academy when his father had died and could not do much in the way of revenge. Over the years he had kept his ear to the ground but the desire for vengeance had quietly simmered. Kichiro had done a masterful job of remaining undetected and most assumed the man had long since left the Land of Water. Hisashi had been on the verge of completely forgetting the Missing-nin when he got word from one of his contacts at the port. Masahiko Kichiro had chartered a ship to the Land of Fire, apparently under the guise of a merchant. The Kirigakure shinobi who specialized in hunting Missing-nin had suddenly been given a second chance. It was rare for a rogue ninja to have avoided the wrath of the Hidden Mist for this long. Kirigakure wanted the man dead but more importantly, Hisashi wanted the man dead. The mere mention of Kichiro's name had set a fire to something within Hisashi. He had set off in pursuit with barely a word in an attempt to make up lost time. Submitting official reports, assembling a tracking team, and other arrangements would waste too much time. Kichiro would already be somewhere in the Land of Fire and on his way to Amegakure if Hisashi's theory was accurate. Hisashi had to catch the man before he made it to Amegakure, a nation which was notoriously tight-lipped. If one had the right connections, it would be easy to slip away and disappear from the rest of the world. This would be the Kiri-nin's last and only shot at capturing the man that had killed his father. It was because of this that Hisashi found himself in the Land of Fire, just south of Konohagakure. Hisashi believed that Kichiro was traveling as a merchant caravan which meant the man was not alone. If anything, it was likely that there were a few other Missing-nin among the group. The benefit of this knowledge was that Kichiro was likely to be moving along a normal route which meant that Hisashi could estimate the man's current position. The Kiri-nin still had some ground to make up before he caught up and he still had no solid plan in mind. Kichiro would die on this day but Hisashi had to make sure he limited any collateral damage. Killing any residents of the Land of Fire would see his name in the Bingo Book alongside the Missing-nin he so despised. He would simply have to come up with a plan when he finally caught up to Kichiro. Hisashi had been making good time moving among the boughs of the forest when suddenly he stopped. He looked to the left and then right, before letting himself fall to the forest ground below. The man landed with the grace expected of a shinobi and remained silent for a few moments. "I'm in a rush so why don't we leave the subtle cat-and-mouse games for another time," stated Hisashi loud enough for anyone in the vicinity to hear. A few moments earlier he had sensed the presence of two others closing in on his position. He could make an educated guess as to their identities but he had been hoping to avoid this altogether. The fact that it had taken him this long to distinguish their presence meant they were hardly your average shinobi. He yearned simply to ignore them but he highly doubted such an option would be likely. Hisashi would need to tread carefully so he could resume his pursuit of the Missing-nin. Yamada stepped out from behind a tree he had been using for cover, offering the man before him a slow, light clap. There was an amused grin across his face as he approached the stranger. While his friendly facade was up though he was also scanning the man, keeping his eyes open for weapons, traps, jutsu that could be launched at any moment and cause him and his fellow tracker-nin some headache. As he slowly approached his target Yamada gave him a good once over, looking him up and down. Based on the information received he was a shinobi crossing from the Land of Water, so probably from Kirigakure. And the fact that he was running through their allies territory instead of going North through the Land of Lightning indicated that he wasn't a missing nin. But that didn't mean he wasn't a threat. Yamada was ever conscious of the possibility that at any moment this man could strike. Perhaps it was overconfidence then that allowed him to approach so nonchalantly. "Tell me, why is it that we find a Kirigakure shinobi travelling through our territory without any kind of notification?" It was true that his appearance here was unannounced, though this wasn't totally unusual. Because Kirigakure and Konohagakure were on such good terms as of late it was common to let official notification for missions in one another's territories slide from time to time. However these were usually small-medium sized teams and the transit wasn't usually so...panicked. A shinobi traveling alone was unusual and with him being so close to Konoha a couple of jounin had quickly been dispatched to evaluate the situation, and deal with the individual if need be. Something that Yamada was more than happy to do should the need arise. Since Yamada had taken a team of genin under his wing he hadn't had much time for missions of this caliber. That spoke volumes to the potential severity of this situation. The fact that he wasn't sent alone also said something, though he wasn't sure about the abilities of Keiko Hana, the tracker that was with him. He'd met her on several occasions before this one but was never forced to interact with her in an official capacity before now; And even then, they'd had so little time to prepare or come up with a strategy that the amount they had spoken could be compared to two strangers waiting for a bus together. Regardless, his skills were a little rusty and he was grateful for the backup. With all this on his mind he still managed to keep focused on the man before him. He shoved his hands in his pockets, appearing to relax as he waited for an answer to his question from this stranger. HOPE IS JUST A RAY OF WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD SEE ❝ O-oh...we're coming right out then. Well, if he's sure... the pink haired kunoichi thought, deciding to trust the man she hardly knew. Trust in the fact that they both bore Konoha forehead protectors and that they were partners. Each entrusting their life to the other. Slowly she followed Yamada's example, jumping down from a tree just a few feet over from the one he'd been hiding behind. She wasn't nearly as brave as, Yamada, however. Who had approached the Kiri nin without a noticeable shred of fear. It wasn't as though Keiko was exactly scared either, but he was so straight forward. It would've been a matter of time before they were found, but that didn't mean they had to come out on command either. But Keiko was no leader. She'd follow Yamada's suit unless her intuition directly conflicted with his decisions. "Good afternoon," she said, shifting her attention from Yamada to the Kiri nin in front of them. They'd approached him with suspicions, naturally. But Keiko refused to condemn the man so soon. He was guilty of nothing other than neglecting to file his paperwork. The lack of notification resulting in Keiko and Yamada being dispatched to intercept him. She sincerely hoped he'd merely forgotten. Or perhaps he was notorious for avoiding his paperwork. Ah, yes, that was plausible. After all the two villages were allies. It wasn't likely they'd make an enemy of him. Pushing her braid off her shoulder and to her back, she took a few small steps closer. "What's the rush?" she asked, genuinely curious but also harmlessly attempting to discover his intentions. Standing to the left of Yamada, she couldn't help but smile. The two were the same height, but his presence was completely different from her's. She couldn't help but feel like they were playing good cop, bad cop. And it was very clear who was in what role. tags: Kazuhiro Hisashi, Yamada KuzashiMADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

It only took a few moments for Hisashi's suspicions to be confirmed as the two shinobi stepped from cover to reveal themselves. The Kirigakure-nin turned his attention to the man who had initially shown himself. Hisashi's dark crimson eyes narrowed ever so slightly at the other shinobi's clapping. The man didn't appear to be displaying a hint of fear but that hardly meant he was careless. Skilled individuals often held themselves with an air of nonchalance that could be attributed to a confidence in their abilities. An amateur may have been fooled but Hisashi was not. Of course that did not stop the Kiri-nin from being mildly annoyed at the man's demeanor nonetheless. It almost seemed as if the other shinobi did not consider Hisashi to be a threat. Of course had their roles been switched, the Kiri-nin may have thought the same. Tactically speaking, Hisashi was in a rather bad position. He was outnumbered and more importantly, the other two shinobi possessed chakra levels greater than his own. The Kirigakure Tokubetsu Jounin specialized in mid to long-range combat, he would be in trouble if things escalated into a combat situation. It would be a better one if you were out of my sight, thought Hisashi in response, as the second Konoha shinobi emerged. She seemed rather different from her companion with the crimson overcoat. There was something about her polite demeanor that irritated Hisashi more than the other shinobi's nonchalance. The two nations may have been allied but Hisashi was not overly fond of nin from other lands, especially those that hailed from Konohagakure. They were always imbued with an obnoxious self-righteousness that the Kiri-nin found mildly revolting. It didn't look like he was going to have any other choice than to put up with it. He left their words hanging there in a heavy silence for a few moments as the Kiri-nin considered how to respond. “I'm hunting a stray,” stated Hisashi, turning his attention back to the male shinobi. The Kiri-nin's tone held a hardness to it that said he was anything but pleased with the current situation. They did not need to know about his personal investment in this particular mission. “I'm sure that even the shinobi of Konoha are aware that Missing-nin do not care for paperwork or propriety. Your superiors will get their beloved paperwork in due time.”Hisashi hated the whole concept. Getting the necessary permissions and writing reports, his enemies would not wait for such things. It was fine for the shinobi who undertook routine missions but not for men like Hisashi. The smallest discrepancy in time could be the deciding factor on whether one caught up to their foe or not. The Kiri-nin's crimson gaze moved between the two other shinobi. He knew that he was hardly fostering intervillage relationships but that was not his priority. “My target is attempting to flee to Amegakure, you both should know what that means,” explained Hisashi. Amegakure was famous for its closed borders and tight information control, and they were not fond of outsiders to say the least. Hisashi did not know what connections Kichiro had but the man wouldn't be making his way in that direction unless he had them. pausing a few seconds before adding, “I cannot allow him to escape. I've already wasted enough time here, let me be on my way...”The Kirigakure shinobi left his last words unsaid, his body language would make the message clear. There was no real outward difference in his appearance but there was a tension in the air that had not been present earlier. All that remained to be seen was how the Konoha shinobi would react. Amegakure. That'll definitely be a problem for this guy. Perhaps it's a little too convenient a tale though. With the way that country operated it was unlikely that this shinobi would be able to continue to track his target if he managed to get across their borders. So that definitely meant that time was of the essence. However that was where Yamada got a little bit suspicious. This guy was real distracted earlier, so either he was lying to them or he just wasn't telling them the whole story. Either way, with no proof, no papers and no notice that he would be here there was no way that Yamada was going to let him frolic through the Land of Fire unattended. As the man made his final comments his body language changed. Yamada could tell that he was moving whether or not there were more questions to be asked. It would not be smart to get into a fight with a shinobi from an allied village without a little bit more information though. Caught between a rock and a hard place. Looks like this is going to be a long day after all. Yamada raised his hand to his forehead and let out a sigh. "See, that's where we're going to have a problem. You know very well that I can't just let you travel through our territory, especially this close to our village without the proper paperwork..." He left his sentence open, pausing for a second to take another deep breath before meeting the Kiri-nin's gaze. "But I'll tell you what we'll do for you. Since we're allies, I'd be more than happy to accompany you while you're a guest in the Land of Fire. I don't know who you're tracking but three shinobi is better than one, right Keiko?" This solution would not be to the Kiri-nin's liking at all. Yamada could already tell that they were similar. Enough so that he knew this declaration would do nothing but piss him off. Yamada also knew that this shinobi was smart enough to know that there were only two options available to him right now, and one could likely result in his death. It was because of this that he figured his proposal would be accepted. As he waited for an answer he withdrew one of his hands from his pockets and took a quick glance over his shoulder to look his partner in the eye. It was only for a second but he wanted to give her some kind of warning that he was prepared to pummel this man into the ground if push came to shove. Unfortunately for him, Keiko was an unknown. Her reaction to a fight could be good or bad for Yamada. All he could do now was wait for an answer and hopefully they could be on their way. Tags: Kazuhiro Hisashi Keiko Hana

HOPE IS JUST A RAY OF WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD SEE ❝ Stray. The word resonated with her on a different level than most shinobi. When one heard the term missing-nin, they thought of one of two things: something to be hunted, or something to fear. But Keiko thought neither of these things. The term only reminded her of the stray she longed so strongly to return home. Of the man she loved. And with every word he uttered she grew more and more curious as to just who his target was. It couldn't be...Tsukiya? the thought pulled her a step closer to the Kiri nin before she forced herself to heel. Approaching him now would only seem like a threat. As Yamada spoke, Keiko turned her head slightly to face him, her face betraying her as he began to refuse the man passage. Refuse her passage. If it was Tsukiya...if he was really heading to Amegakure... I don't have the time to fight him! she thought, biting her bottom lip in an attempt to prevent her internal screaming from escaping her lips. "-right, Keiko?" her name snapped her back to reality, and she quickly collected herself before answering the question she hadn't even realized she'd heard. "Of course! Just like friends, that's what allies are for!" she said, turning to look at Yamada as the two awaited the man's answer. For a brief, fleeting moment, the two locked gazes. There was something dangerous that his eyes, so devoid of color, conveyed. If Yamada Kuzashi was a flower, he would be a Black Dahlia. A dark flower with a hint of color in the right lighting, and several petals that were all facets of his person. She only wondered if he could see that she was wavering in that brief moment. If he could see straight through her eyes to the heart that loved a missing-nin. And if it was him, she wouldn't allow any harm to come to him. No matter the cost. tags: Kazuhiro Hisashi, Yamada KuzashiMADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS
