National Emergency: Shipwreck on Ryoshi Coast! [Mission]

Yamada stood at the bow of the ship, starring at the vast body of water ahead of him. The weather conditions weren't permitting him to see very far into the distance but he knew they were getting close to the island. It had cost him a pretty penny but this boat and it's captain had been worth it. This wasn't the first time that Yamada was sailing through a storm but it was definitely the worst one he'd ever seen. The sheer fact that he'd found a sailor crazy enough to brave the conditions spoke volumes to this man's steel. In truth Yamada would have paid him more but just by the enthused look on the man's face right now told him that it wouldn't have been necessary. He lived for the thrill of these situations. He would have been a great shinobi, or a really terrible one. Unfortunately for Yamada though, this wasn't a pleasure trip. Oh no; In fact it was the first official mission of his newly formed team of genin. To start, they were short one member. Right off the bat it was a handicap. But the thing that was unsettling to Yamada was that there were elements to this mission that he couldn't control. Real danger to the lives of his students, one of which was his blood brother. Despite his history in ANBU, starting off a shorthanded genin team with a C-Rank mission was foolhardy and he had to wonder if he was really the best suited for a rescue mission. Yamada's primary function had always been demolition. When things needed to be killed or destroyed, he was called. Saving a life had never really been in his repertoire. Things changed over time though, and so had he. A strong wave knocked the boat to its side and he was forced to re-position his feet to stop from falling overboard. This brought him straight back to reality. In the distance he started to see the form of an island. Ryoshi Coast. Apparently this is where the ship was reported to have washed up. He turned towards the cabin where his two genin were still waiting for him. Before he made his way inside though he took one last deep breath of the ocean air, clearing his senses. With this he turned around and made a beeline for the shelter. As Yamada stepped inside he immediately began dripping on the floor. The captain obviously didn't care but he was sure that his genin thought he was crazy. Ignoring any potential look of disbelief, he cut right to the chase. He reached into his jacket and pulled out a slightly damp map. After struggling to roll it out he set it on the table that was in the middle of them. Yamada jammed his finger into a small red circle he had drawn before they left. "This is where we are expected to come across the wreck." He slid his finger over a couple inches away from the coast. "This is right about where we are now. We should start seeing debris soon and once we do we'll be on lookout for survivors." As he rolled up the map and slid it back into his still-soaking-wet overcoat Yamada paused to take a breath and look out the front window, keeping his eye peeled for some sign of the ship that had gone down. "Once we're close enough to the coast we will depart this ship and conduct a search together in the surrounding area. Do not leave my sight, I've never seen water this rough." His warning would probably be lost on his brother, but he at least hoped his other pupil would have the sense to listen to him. "Any questions before we get there?" | if you're leaving me, if this is over then tell me before today goes the things i can't say i didn't even get a chance to say... goodbye |
Their sensei, Yamada, had walked out on them, going above the shelter like a crazy man. Pretty soon we’ll have to go and save him. She thought to herself, giving out an annoyed sigh among the rocking of the ship. This was a perfect first team mission, part of Honoka was thrilled and yet at the same time, she even wondered how they were going to pull this off? If only she were stronger with her suiton jutsus or even with her medical jutsus. Honoka tried not to pity herself, that was not awesome at all and not even the right time to have this pity party to herself. This was their first mission, that could go wrong, but still; lessons much to be learned! At least this was better than being stuck behind a desk. Suddenly a strong wave pushed against the boat and Honoka prayed it would stay together enough for them to rescue these people. Her knuckles became white and her nails digging into her palms, was this even a c-rank mission? Honoka’s eyes narrowed and her short brows came together with that thought, maybe they were gipped and the village was desperate to send people out here. Honoka’s mind whirled with different thoughts, although most of them were through sheer anger and fear. The door to the shelter then opened up and Honoka’s head flickered that way to see who was coming in, holding her breath as she heard the howling wind outside. She then breathed once more seeing it was their teacher, who was soaking wet. She sighed once more and blinked slowly before looking the other way. Was this man even a fool? Her eyes flickered down the floor; well he was ANBU before becoming their sensei, so maybe he still had some spark in him. Honoka then looked back his way and noticed he was pulling something out of his jacket and it was a very soaked map, her brows went down in unamusement. She came over and looked down at the map; a red circle caught her attention first, which must have been the place where they had started out on this crazy adventure. Honoka crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes in thought as she listened to Yamada. As he finished explaining and putting the map away, a brow slowly rose. So, find debris from their survivors and when they finally got back to shore they would do a search around the area; then his other message which was more like a warning than anything caught her attention, it almost seemed like they didn’t trust them, she felt her stomach tightening, but then again he knew what to do unlike her and her partner. Blinking out of thought, Honoka shook her head. “Yeah, I do actually.” Her hand went up slightly, unsure if she needed her hand raised or not, “How are we getting the survivors on the ship?” Tagged: Yuudai Kuzashi Yamada KuzashiMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS & THQ

Yuudai preferred steady ground to the rocking of the ship, but he wasn't too bothered by it. It wasn't like he got sick, he just didn't feel comfortable with the dangerous swaying back and forth. His brother had been stupid enough to go out into the storm, standing on the deck of the ship. It seemed like a rather dumb idea to Yuudai, but he trusted Yamada. His elder brother knew what he was doing. If he didn't then Yuudai might have been concerned then. Unlike his brother, Yuudai didn't have an advernturous streak as of late, preferring the safety of the cabin to the wild world outside.
The older genin would glance at his new team mate from time to time, unable to find the words to really greet her with. He wasn't one for long conversations. They always made him feel awkward. He felt even more awkward when he started to say something and the conversation went nowhere. Crossing his arms over his chest, Yuudai leaned against the wall of the cabin, staring mostly at the floor in uncomfortable silence, glancing to the door whenever he thought he heard Yamada returning. He was always wrong, though. 'Damn... He's right. I do need to work on my perceptive skills,' the Kuzashi thought to himself, staggering slightly when the boat swayed dangerously in the thrashing waters.
"Whose idea was it to send genin on a mission in which there is danger of them drowning, anyway? It seems awfully counter intuitive, considering the state of the villages genin force," Yuudai noted offhandedly, sighing in exasperation right as Yamada opened the door. Yuudai, slightly curious, instantly put himself up on his tippy toes, looking over his brothers shoulder to the world outside. God, it was awful out there. The state of Yamada's soaked clothing was a testament to the weather, that was for sure.
Yuudai only stepped forward a little, observing the map that Yamada laid out on the table in the center of the room, his hands in his pockets. His eyes trailing back and force across the landscape of the map, Yuudai attempted to memorize what he was seeing, knowing that he would need to keep track of his location at all times. The position of the sun really couldn't help them, seeing as it was covered by the clouds of the raging storm above, and keeping track of landmarks while at sea was near to impossible. Remaining silent for a long moment, Yuudai finally answered Yamada's question, "Got it."
Glancing toward his fellow genin teammate, Yuudai broke out into a large grin, "We walk on water, silly!" | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS |

The question of the young shinobi took him off guard. As she asked it he was taken back many years to when he had just become a genin. Had he known how to walk on water? It had been so long ago that he wasn't even certain these two had enough training to handle the storm, let alone a rescue mission in it. Perhaps I should have declined this mission before I'd been given a chance to test their skills first. Too late now. And indeed it was. Training on water would be the first thing they did when he got back now though, that was for sure. Before Yamada had an opportunity to answer her question though Yuudai jumped in with a simple response, assuming she had the ability to walk on water. According to the file he'd received on her she seemed like a talented individual. With the ability to control water as well as an affinity for medical ninjutsu, controlling the chakra to allow herself to walk on water would be almost second nature to her. Or that's at least what he'd thought. Hoping to himself that she was capable of this task he decided to give her a more specific answer. "This ship will remain as close to the coast as is safe for it. Once we've located the survivors we will do one of two things with them. If the conditions permit we will bring them aboard this ship. However if the storm gets worse and this vessel has to depart we will create a shelter on the shore and bring them there. The important thing right now is getting them out of the elements." Yamada hoped that this explanation would be enough for his genin because it looked like they were coming up on the area where they would be departing. The captain yelled at them that this was their stop. As Yamada made his way towards the exit and the storm once again he had one last thought. "If you don't think you'll be able to help out on the water you're welcome to stay on board the ship. I'm sure the captain could use all the help he can get right now." This was directed at both of the youngsters in the cabin. Yamada wasn't about to send either of them to their deaths and he couldn't help but feel that in conditions like this, if he told them to jump overboard with him that he would be doing just that. With that said though he pulled the door to the deck open and stepped outside. The rain and wind combined to form a frigid temperature outside that could have killed anyone without a trained mind and body after only a few hours. Luckily for Yamada he had ways of keeping warm in these conditions. Yamada took one last look towards the cabin as he reached the port side rail on the side of the ship. With all the water in his eyes he could barely see the two figures that were his genin, but he was pretty sure they were both hesitantly following his lead. That was all the reassurance he needed. Yamada gripped the rail hard and jumped over the edge. Plummeting towards the black ocean only made it colder as it came closer and closer. He landed on the rocky water and instantly had to balance himself to stop from sinking. Just as he did so though a large wave shoved him into the edge of the boat. His head was submerged for a second but as soon as he regained his sense he was back on his feet. Now he was moving away from the boat, not so fast that the genin would lost him but fast enough that he wouldn't be sucked underneath the boat if he somehow went under again. Now for the interesting part.Tags: Honoka Fujimura Yuudai KuzashiOOC: You can help us haul people up from on board the boat or you can jump overboard like my crazy jounin. Decision is up to you!
