It had been two days since Hisashi had returned from the Land of Fire, his appetite for vengeance finally sated. The hunt had proven to be one of the most difficult of career but quite possibly the most satisfying. In one fell swoop he had taken out a longtime Missing-Nin and also the man who had killed his father. Hisashi couldn't decide which of the two weighed more heavily but it had been a long time since he had experienced a true sense of accomplishment. He had thought he had tossed away whatever pride and dignity he had once possessed in the name of serving Kirigakure; it seemed he had been mistaken on that front. It could be said that there were no longer any inhibitions to his duty with this particular chip out of the way. Granted, his impromptu chase had very much been within the realm of his mandated duties. The Kirigakure Tokubetsu Jounin had needed a few days of rest considering the exhausted state the battle had put him in. He had exacerbated his injuries by returning to the village immediately instead of recovering in the Land of Fire. Hisashi had been forced to put up with those two Konoha shinobi which had pushed his patience to the limit. The Hunting Dog of Kirigakure was not a name one earned due to their people skills. Hisashi supposed he should be grateful considering the presence of the two Jounin had assured that he made it out of the battle alive. The whole situation had thrown Hisashi's weaknesses into sharp relief. There was still much he had to work on if he truly wished to be chosen for the coveted ANBU rank. The Kiri-nin had other duties to handle before he could retreat into isolated self-training. As one might guess, Hisashi was expected to report the outcome of his missions. Usually he did this to a higher-ranking shinobi but this case was slightly different; he would need to make his explanation directly to the Mizukage. Hisashi's previous interactions with Kirigakure's leader had been limited to say the least. It had therefore been difficult for the shinobi to form any solid opinion about the Mizukage. He had heard some less than flattering rumors about the village leader but Hisashi had paid them no heed. If anything, Hisashi could sympathize with the other man in that regard. The Tokubetsu Jounin was entirely indifferent to the politics and power struggles within the village. He would simply do his duty as a Kirigakure shinobi. This day would mark the first time that Hisashi had ever visited the Mizukage's residence. It did not surprise him in the least to find the building under heavy guard. Kages, by virtue of their profession, were generally more than capable of defending themselves from any assassination attempt. That being said, it didn't mean that people wouldn't try and therefore having a deterrent was generally a wise course of action. The guards eyed Hisashi for a few moments, a hint of distaste in their features. Hisashi was not well-liked among his peers who generally saw him as nothing more than a rabid beast. Who knew when he might bite the hand that fed him. The Kiri-nin had more or less embraced his reputation as he saw no point in trying to dispute the rumors. A few minutes later he found himself at the door of the Mizukage's office; he knocked twice before entering. "Mizukage-sama, I have recently returned from the Land of Fire and have come to make my report," stated Hisashi as he fell to one knee, head bowed. Hisashi rarely showed deference to anyone but there were a few exceptions, the man before him being one of them. Kurayami

What a beautiful day it was today. The mist surrounding the village wasn't as thick as it normally was. The sun could be seen beaming brightly through the mist. The air, still dank, was a little warmer than usual. Children could be heard outside of Kazu's window, running and playing outside, taking advantage of the odd weather. For Kazu, it was another long day in the office. Paperwork piled high on his desk. Kazu sat back in his chair, his eyes locked onto the mountain that had begun to form right in front of him. Kazu let out a sigh as he prepared to dive in. It was impossible for Kazu to get away from it this time. He often found himself glancing outside, wishing he could just leave the village for a few hours and get into the sunlight for a change. Kazu took another glance out his window. Staring into the distance, he let out one more sigh of disappointment. His eyes darted back to the giant mountain of paper sitting on his desk. Mentally prepared, Kazu finally dove in. One piece of paper would come off the top. Kazu's eyes would swiftly and accurately scan each individual word on the pieces of paper. Kazu would grab his stamp, and slam it into the piece of paper. One might argue that he really didn't need to slam it as hard as he did. But Kazu quite enjoyed it. It was like squishing a bug. You never really needed to use such an excessive amount of force, but more satisfaction came from it. A fireplace crackled on the north wall of the office, while Kazu sat behind his desk on the east side. Most days Kazu's office was quite cold, due to the general lack of sun. The fire helped keep his office bright and warm. Another crackle. Kazu continued to power through his documents, stamping one piece of paper after another. Perhaps if he was done early enough, he could take a trip out of the village for a few hours, enjoy the sun and get a little training in before dinner time. That was all the motivation he needed. The pile of paperwork quickly began to shrink, while the other pile of completed documents started to grow faster and faster. Kazu was focused. He began to bite his lower lip as he concentrated harder and harder on finishing the tasks at hand. Suddenly, a knock at the door. Kazu stopped, placing the stamp off the the side and leaving the current document in front of him. He was halfway done reading it. " Come in." Kazu shouted, inviting his unexpected guest in as he leaned back in his chair once more. There he stood. One of Kirigakure's fine shinobi. A man who stood at an even six feet tall, only two inches taller than Kazu. The man appeared as though he had seen his fair share of battles, which was to be expected at his current level. One did not become a Tokubetsu Jounin simply by frolicking through flowery fields and by saving kittens from trees. " Ah, yes." Kazu began, as he shifted in his seat, getting comfortable. " That is good news, Kazuhiro! How did it go? I trust it went smoothly?" Kazu let out his signature smile. The one he used in public, in order to hide his true nature, or his current thoughts. It was a friendly smile. One that left many people with a warm feeling in their hearts. Tagged: Kazuhiro HisashiOOC: Notes CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS

Ah, there it is. The Mizukage's famed smile, thought Hisashi with a mild sense of discomfort. It was said to have won the hearts of many young shinobi over the years. The ever-charismatic leader of Kirigakure who was not just the Mizukage but also a friend. There was nothing about the man's smile that made Hisashi feel warm inside. The Tokubetsu Jounin couldn't explain it properly but he had never trusted people who smiled too freely. There was something overpowering about the man's presence and that made Hisashi uncomfortable. Hisashi of course had no basis for his sentiments, only his gut instinct but the shinobi had learned over the years to place stock in such things. It could often make the difference between life and death. There was also the fact that Hisashi had trouble believing that someone could become a Kage without some measure of ruthlessness. The man was only a year older than him after all. It seemed so odd that the two could be so close in age yet so very far in martial prowess and village standing. "There were some minor...complications," stated Hisashi with a hint of hesitation. The Tokubetsu Jounin had more or less managed to complete most of his assignments without much trouble up until this particular mission. "Due to a delay in information, I was forced to make my way into the Land of Fire before giving proper notice."Hisashi paused a moment, before continuing his explanation. "As you know, Kichiro has been missing since the time of the Yondaime, I could not afford to let him go; those who betray Kirigakure must pay. I was therefore intercepted by a pair of shinobi from Konohagakure. Fortunately they understood the severity of the mission and deemed it necessary to follow me. Suffice to say, the mission was completed without further incident. I do not expect there will be any fallout in regards to the misunderstanding with Konoha." explained the Kiri-nin before adding one more thing. "The mission would unlikely have been successful without the assistance of the Konoha-nin."Those last words seemed to have physically hurt Hisashi to say. It may not have been entirely true since he may have killed Kichiro at the cost of his own life but that was difficult to predict. He was loathe to admit that he had required help from another especially those from a different village. The Kiri-nin thought he had tossed away whatever pride he had possessed but apparently that was not entirely true. He may have been considered a demon by many of his peers but even Hisashi had some sense of honor. Hisashi told the Mizukage, expecting at that some point word of the deed would return to Konoha. Should a similar incident occur in the Land of Water, Kiri might let it slide to return the favor. There was still the Mizukage's reaction to consider. Hisashi wondered if the man would maintain his unfaltering smile or show some level of displeasure, thinking Hisashi incompetent. Kurayami

" ... minor complications" Those were two words that Kazu was not terribly fond of. It didn't always mean that the shinobi assigned to the task was incompetent by any means. It typically just meant the task was more of a pain in the ass than the person who requested the job originally led on, or something unexpected came up. Kazu could normally depend on Hisashi to get the task done. He was confident that these minor complications weren't too big a deal. and Kazu's assumption would be correct. for the most part, the task had been completed. This was music to Kazu's ears. The explanation had begun. Hisashi had now brought up the name of Kichiro. That name. Kazu knew it well. He was a Kirigakure shinobi that had abandoned the village during the rule of the Yondaime Mizukage. Hisashi was forced to enter the Land of Fire in pursuit of this traitor, and there was a slight misunderstanding. But Kazu was glad to hear that any misunderstandings were quickly sorted out. No doubt Kazu's relationship with the Hokage, Ryoko, played a small part in that. Alas, what is done is done. The conversation had reminded Kazu of another task he had prepared for such a man as Kazuhiro Hisashi. A similar task. Kazu grasped onto a thin, black binder. Sliding it front of him, he swung it open. A mug shot lay in front of him. A mug shot of a former shinobi of Kirigakure. A shinobi known as Masahiro Nakamura. He was nineteen years of age, a virgo, and his blood type was B positive. This was all information Kazu's little binder held for him. A man who stood at about five feet and nine inches tall, and weighed one-hundred and thirty pounds. Rather light for his size. Kazu's face softened as he read through the biography of the shinobi who was more commonly referred to as "Hiro." Kazu peered back up, handing the open binder to the Toukubetsu Jounin. " Listen." he began. " He's abandoned the Mist with no word. He could hold valuable information that could potentially be leaked. I want him silenced. Find him. Either bring him directly to myself, or kill him. Whichever seems easier." Kazu spoke with so little emotion. This was a matter that needed to be dealt with as soon as possible. Kazu wasn't about to just let him continue to roam free knowing as much as he did. The safety of the Hidden Mist was at stake. " There is a bounty on his head. You will be entitled to the full bounty. Do not fail me. You are dismissed." Tagged: Kazuhiro Hisashi @mellolily2 OOC: I tagged Hiro because... well... yeah. Bounty. Have fun. CODED BY ELECTRIC OF GS
