Yuudai had long abandoned the play. After the confrontation with his parents, in front of everyone of course, he really wasn't in the mood to celebrate. He'd decided to find somewhere else to be, as long as it wasn't in the company of his father. They'd never get along, it seemed, and it was better if Yuudai just stayed away. As much as he missed his mother, his pride was too strong to bow to his Kuzashi father for her. He wouldn't give up what he believed, or push it aside not matter what they thought. Yuudai wasn't the type of man to stand down and let himself be kicked like that. He wouldn't do it. He couldn't do it. Hunkering down away from the outdoor theater, he settled against a tree to the far side, watching from afar. He really didn't know what was going on now, but he really didn't care. There was too much frustration coursing through him at this point for him to give a damn about anything. He was so close to just punching something, or someone, and he couldn't believe how close he'd gotten to actually throwing a punch at his own father. That would never end well, and it would likely only put him even more at odds with his clan. Growling out sharply, he pulled his knees up to his chest, resting his forehead against them. He wouldn't admit to anyone that he'd started crying, but the warm tears falling down his legs would give him away quite easily. He didn't make a sound, and he wasn't shaking like he was sobbing. He just let them come. There was no reason to hide it, anyway. As far as he knew, he was alone. There wasn't anyone around to see his weakness or his frustration. At least he thought so. A shuffling of feet and cracking of a fallen twig or two had him up on his feet, rubbing at his face furiously as if to make it seem like he hadn't been crying. Hoping he had enough time to make up an excuse, he suddenly turned, punching lightly at the tree as if he'd been training the entire time. "1... 2... 3... 4..." he muttered with each punch, not hitting the tree hard enough to cause any sort of damage. Keeping his gaze angled slightly back, he swallowed hard, hoping that his eyes weren't red enough to give away his true reason for being so far away from the festivities. |
