On Top Of The World
Shikai really wasn't a fan of capturing animals, more so the less popular animals while at it. He did probably try playing with a few frogs back when he was a small kid, but trying to actually capturing them for a professional job was never something the boy figured he'd be doing. Shikai only had three tools to use to capture the animals, and had several ideas of how to do that; but where exactly to find them, or how to get to a suitable situation of actually capturing the animals would take a little while. Maybe he should knock them out first and then get to taking them in?
Well, if anything, Shikai had to first of all make sure he's not bitten by the animals or gets poisoned in any other roundabout way. "Well... I can probably watch out for the snake if it turns out aggressively on me. Frogs are only poisonous if you touch their body directly, so I heard... And leeches, are pretty dormant animals. I could just grab at those and go with it! But..." As he wondered to himself how to get in on that, Shikai searched around the bushes surrounding the Hot Springs, looking for said animals. He was not focused, not at all, which would serve to explain how he had missed his intended targets more than twice over his little strolling trip.
"Okay, I think I've got it. I'll just have to try and catch them without them expecting me to! Surely they wouldn't expect me if I'm stealthy enough!!" He said, pumping a fist in determination. Only to hear a slight rustle. Turning his head with an oblivious expression, the boy was surprised to see two perfectly still frogs, staring at him frighteningly. So he stared back. And they stared back.
"...
"..."
"..." Leap. "Get over here!!!"
And so the chase had began, with the blond's face smashed into the floor right after the jump, the two frogs running away. Luckily, frogs weren't that much of a fast animal, and Shikai, after getting back up like nothing happened, immediately took out on of the containers, bringing it under the frog as it jumped, trying to escape the menacing human giant. "There!! One!!" He exclaimed happily as he closed the lid, with the frog inside, which fell right into his trap. The Genin was quick to give chase to the other, only to see how it wound up jumping into a small pond. Chances of catching it there were pretty slim. But, there was another animal he could grab inside this little spot. Actually, make that two. Two that conveniently laid there, unmoving. He snickered, the bastard.
Taking out another container, Shikai prepared his hand. "...Toh!!" He yelled out, piercing into the waters with his bare hand and grabbing at a leech unconcerned at all. He quickly threw it into his container, than brought the container into the water, getting some liquid inside and successfully capturing the second leech in. "Yay!! Hahaha!! Okay. Now how do I get that frog out?" He asked himself, staring into the pond. It was a problem, he couldn't quite tell where the frog was inside the pond. So, like every impatient guy, the Genin tried forcing it out.
Performing the right hand seals, Shikai started rotating his forearm as it caught wind. A miniature tornado was formed around it. Even though it was enhanced by Ninjutsu, it was very much a physical technique he enjoyed using. Most mainly, because it was his own creation. "Okay little froggy, get out here. ...No? Don't want to? That's okay. Prepare yourself!!" With a sharp thrust, Shikai brought his hand into the pond again. "Fuuton: Fuuken!!!" Wind Fist; Shikai's signature technique.
Water splashed in every direction and the frog was forced into the air, practically flying due to the sudden powerful force driven into the small pond. Opening the container, Shikai jumped up and captured the second frog in his small tool, quickly closing the lid. If he waited for it to land, it's possible his container would have broken down, or at the very least, one of the two frogs would die. And that's not something he wanted to happen; they did nothing to deserve this. All of this routine on itself was perhaps a bit rough on the poor animals. "Alright! That leaves... The snake." He shuddered. With two containers done, it was like he now needed to search for the Last Boss.
The two cages containing animals inside were a bit heavy on the boy, and admittedly, he got tired of searching around for the snake rather shortly after he began his search again. This area really wasn't that big, so why couldn't he find any of those? "Argh, where is it!? Dammit..." He sulked. Standing idly in his spot, the blond decided to take a short rest. Which, was probably by a streak of luck, the best decision he could take as shortly after he stopped, rapid rustling sounds could be heard. He wasn't prepared for a sudden attack from an assailant. The poisonous Last Boss, the Snake.
*CHOMP*
"!!?" Right in the arm. The snake managed to jump, biting at Shikai's sleeve. Apparently it planned to take down a large target and feast happily today. A carnivore, huh. That was something they did not warn Shikai about. Luckily though, the blond still seemed to function. Getting a grip, he brought his elbow up and smashed it into the animal's head. "My turn! Hijigeki!!" Elbow Strike, right powerfully enough to knock out the animal. Shikai proceeded to rather stressedly roll the snake into his burlap bag, and then sighed, dropped to his bottom.
"That, was a very close one..." He remarked to himself, removing his puffy jacket. If he didn't have this on him, and the snake would have actually made contact with his flesh, he would have probably failed the mission. Luck is sometimes a strong factor in missions too; and it was purely coincidental that the predator bit at the sleeve, not reaching the human's arm as intended. Before any more attackers decide to assault the boy, he made haste to exit with the bag and two containers on hands.
