To tell the truth the white-haired salamander had not been able to sleep for most of the night, when he fell asleep which was very early he was awaken by a dream and his pillow, blanket and bed were all drenched from the massive amount of sweat that he had produced. Ever since he was awoken by the dream he sat on his chair and read a book about a famous ninja that went by the name of Kawai, she was a prodigy of medical ninjutsu like his beloved sister and she proved her worth on the frontlines of the battlefield, ultimately leading her village to a great win in one of the Shinobi Wars. When it had reached around two in the morning his sister simply knocked on his door and requested him to wake up probably inferring that he was sleeping but the young shinobi simply ignored the request and continued to read about the intriguing biography of the ninja. It was not until his sister returned with a loud bang on the door and a terrifying request to wake up which forced him to jump out of fear from his chair and fall splat onto the ground. Usually Ryuza would get mad but he knew that she did that because she truly cared for him.
He didn’t feel like getting back up and his arm was sore but then something went ‘click’ in his brain and Ryuza had totally forgot that he had a mission assigned for today’s date and now was the perfect time to finish it. Now, it wasn’t a mission that was with his sister and Keiji, but this was yet another solo mission. He jolted up from his current position on the floor and headed for the closet to get dressed. After undressing he quickly got into his casual shinobi attire.
Despite being a loud and flashy individual, Ryūza’s choice of attire was relatively simple. The most distinguishable part of his clothing is the hood he stitched on to his the back of his vest. The rest of his attire was symbolic of his warrior heritage. A black vest being the only cloth to cover his torso, the bulk of his chest is exposed revealing a toned physique. His pant legs were tucked nicely into his sandals, generating a billowing effect at his ankles while his arms were protected beneath steel forearm guards. A black sash usually spending a blade is always present while a thick wrap rests around his forehead as a headband. Sunagakure’s insignia was embroidered along such a headband in the form of a hitai-ate. Lastly, draped loosely, though affectionately around his neck, Ryūza donned a sallow white scarf.
If he were to walk around Sunagakure shirtless one could read his body like a well written fairytale which was packed with detail and was riddled with tales from his previous battles. Once he had finished dressing up he slammed his room’s door shut and jolted outside without eating anything at all. As always, Ryuza was late for his mission, whenever it came to a scheduled event of any sort his sense of direction and timing really didn’t come in handy. It must have been a trait passed down from one of his parents and he had noticed that his sister had a pretty bad sense of direction too. Her timing was pretty spot on though since she was always early compared to Ryuza.
As he hopped from roof to roof he began to think about the mission, it was about a boar named Mimi who had recently gone crazy and had been terrorizing various farms around Sunagakure. From what he had been told, Mimi was once a very nice creature and helped farms all across Sunagakure, what a shame. It only took a couple minutes before he was at one of the bigger apple farms of Sunagakure, he had been around here once or twice when he was younger to break down an old farm and gain some money to spend. This was a more difficult task though, all he had to do was trap or kill the boar and he wasn’t much of a trapping expert but he decided he was going to attempt it this time around. All he needed was luck; luck must successfully guide the boar to this particular farm and then make the boar fall for the trap. All the farms around Sunagakure were waiting patiently for Ryuza and had gotten ready one trap for him, it was do or die but if he didn’t fall for the trap he guessed he could just outright murder it.
As he walked into the barn the first thing he noticed was the horrid stench that was coming from the stalls of the horses, he instantly tied his scarf around his nose to use as a shield from the stench. He took a quick turn and headed for the home of the family and once he reached the doorway he knocked on the wooden door. A man opened it and instantly welcomed him, Ryuza hopped inside and sat down on a chair. When the man sat down was when the conversations started.
“So, you’re Ryuza Koizumi, the Hooded Salamander of the Sand, how do you plan on taking down this beast?” The man asked without introducing himself which Ryuza found rather rude but he would probably do the same. Having already made his mind up about this he quickly answered that he would use a trap but the man chuckled. “You won’t be able to trap him that easily, you’ll probably need to use some hand-to-hand combat.” Ryuza, being quite stubborn insisted that he did but the man simply shook his head side to side, not wanting to argue today out of pure tiredness he decided to listen to what the man had to say and besides, he did need some Taijutsu training after all. “This boar is one of the most aggressive boars I have ever seen, he will attack anything and two hits and you’ve got some broken bones, you’ll need to fight him with agility and also utilize other skills.” After a quick briefing on what to do he nodded and while leaving the house he went back to the farm and picked up the trap anyway. He was going to use both styles, the art of Taijutsu and Trapping.
He prepared his trap and set it right next an apple tree, the trap was a simple cage with a small door which Ryuza had left open which would close when something big was squished inside of it. Inside of the cage he laid a piece of juicy and well-cooked lamb and then in front of that he performed a series of handseals and then he utilized Bunshin no Jutsu to create a successful clone of himself. Bunshin no Jutsu was a ninjutsu that created an intangible copy of one's own body, without any substance. The clone itself didn’t have the ability to attack and thus was mainly used for confusion purposes. It was a very basic technique but depending on one’s ingenuity and creativity it can be used quite effectively. The clone does not dissipate when it comes into contact with something. He set the clone up so it would fool the boar, it was him standing straight with his two arms intertwining each other and looking at the direction the boar would come from. He then patiently waited in a haystack for the creature to arrive.
An hour passed and Ryuza sat patiently in the haystick playing ‘rock, paper, scissors’ with both of his hands and it seemed his weaker hand had won. Letting his right hand know that he was disappointed in him, he heard a few sounds and there was the boar but he had brought along two smaller friends. Mimi was huge compared to most wild boars and possessed lots of meat while the other boars were average size, they walked together and hadn’t spotted Ryuza’s clone yet. Being foolish, he dove out of the haystack and ran right for the boars wanting to get this over with quickly. They instantly noticed him having great senses and they all charged for him at once, getting into the stance of the dragon which he made up himself. He closed his eye’s and pretended that he was an avid taijutsu practitioner but this only caused him a clean blow to the stomach, sending him flying into the wall of the barn. As he opened his eye’s his vision was groggy and he was dazed, acting out of instinct, he sent one of the side boar’s flying with a quick uppercut and then when the other one charged he used a simple Taijutsu technique that he had been taught by one of his sensei’s (Dynamic Entry). Drawing a kunai from his pocket, he quickly threw it at the charging boar to use as a distraction and then jumped him into the air, propelling himself at the boar and kicking him splat in the face, the kunai also made contact, piercing his hind leg which caused him to limp but he was already knocked out.
With the other boar being slightly dazed but not entirely knocked out, he stood face to face with Mimi. (queue the old west showdown music). The song playing in Ryuza’s mind was soon ruined by Mimi charging at him with full force, quickly thinking, he decided he was going to use a technique he hadn’t mastered before. Getting into the proper stance, he tried to crush the boar’s leg but he was too fast and he was once again sent flying into the barn’s wall. This time even harder and once again the smaller boar was running at him. Standing up, he moved side to side due to the fact he was dazed. He was going to try the technique again.
By using Intersection Method, Ryuza was able to successfully intercept and counter a taijutsu technique by raising the knee, and driving his elbow downwards at the same time. This catches the attacking limb between his two limbs, and drives the elbow down with great force, effectively shattering the bone. When the time had come he successfully did and broke the boar’s skull, making him cry out in pain but he had other things to think about. Once again, he was face to face with Mimi. The two charged at one another and engaged in a fierce brawl with Ryuza using his fists and legs to block and counter the boar’s attacks with his fully grown horns. After around two minutes of fierce battling, Ryuza hopped over him and headed for the trapsite. Within seconds he was there and went right through his clone and hopped over the trap. He kept running until he heard a ‘click’ sound and it must have meant the boar had fallen for it. Smiling, he let out the roar of a young dragon being born. It was a long day and he collected the other bodies of the knocked out boars, he would trade them in to a butcher’s shop for extra money but for now he decided to rest on the hilltop and gaze at the clouds.
