Friday morning, what better way to start the day then with a cup of ramen and stalking the people outside your window to check for suspicious behavior. This was Keiji's ritual every single morning since the terrorist attacks from when he was little, he never let it go thinking that they never really stopped the people that wanted to harm the village and still resided inside the walls. KNOCK KNOCK. There was a knocking at the door. He didn't bother to wake up and check who it is. KNOCK KNOCK. Once again, somebody must've been looking for him but he knew exactly who it was. SMASH! The door flew open and another ninja came flying with a kick towards Keiji's empty bed falling with his foot right in the pillow "WAKE UP TOSHIRO!". The boy didn't even flinch he continued to sip on his ramen and stared outside the window "Good morning to you as well Machiru.." he muttered still with noodles hanging outside his lips. The other ninja was confused, it wasn't often that Keiji was already up at this hour in the morning, to hide his amazement he acted like always, bossy "Here you lazyass, i've got a mission for you, nothing too hard, you'll be going on your own" "Hmmm?" the boy turned his head to face the man sipping on the noodles. "We've got some sand-worm problems, merchants seem to have reported attacks of giant worms in the desert, you're to go there and inve-... Why are you stalking on people?..."
[Two Hours Later]
"Troublesome..." and it was, the desert that is. Heat, sand that gets in your eyes and under your clothes, crawling insects and giant creatures under the sand, that was enough to scare anybody off these lands. This made him always wonder why merchants would even bother to travel to Suna, was it the low prices maybe? Who knows. For the moment he didn't care about anything rather then finishing his mission. "Now, now... where should i start looking?" he stopped in his spot, in the middle of the desert, dunes after dunes and sandstorms in the distance, he was alone. "Maaan, where am i supposed to find these things?" he muttered as he opened a map of the Suna desert and inspected the merchant routes. At the same time he was doing this, something seemed to be moving fast beneath the sand, heading towards Toshiro, it was very hard to notice it, but he did as soon as he lowered the map up to his chest. "Huh?..." he said with no time to react. Suddenly five big worm-like creatures about 2 feet each burst from the sand flying at his face , mouths full of layers of teeth seemingly going and going up their stomach if worms have those. He crouched in an instant , therefor dodging the attack, three of them flew right back at the sand and dug back beneath while two of them hit each other directly head one, biting at one another. Keiji grabbed them both with his hands still in a crouching position detaching them from one another "I guess this is what i've been looking for" With no more a do he threw one of them back in the sand and stabbed the other one killing it. It released an annoying screech before it died, it's slimy body relaxing slowly, it was disgusting.
"Well there goes the specimen, now let's kill the other-..." he was interrupted by a second louder screech as he was putting the covered baby worm in his pack. Suddenly mounds of sand started to move away, as the back of the beast was visible in all it's slimy glory. It went down and then resurfaced right in front of Keiji throwing him backwards. It was huge, 20 feet to say the least, this must've been their mother. Tumbling into the sand the boy opened up his scroll and out of it his puppet appeared. The worm dropped down on both of them with it's wide mouth opened, pumping it's muscles making the teeth layers move in a circular motion. Keiji jumped to the side making the grim reaper move as well and as soon as the worm's mouth hit the sand the puppet cut at it's flesh using the scythe. It made creature's body flap uncontrollably and then descend back into the sand. Soon after a third screech it's babies came to attack, the must've been like twenty because what it seemed like from the surface when you see multiple mounds of sand moving towards you. Again they attacked all at once, flying in the air like they would be some kind of weird looking slimy birds. Toshiro positioned his puppet facing forward and ran at it using it as a jumping pad at the same time he made the puppet ascend with him to take it out of the worm-baby's range. Once in the air he made the necessary hand-signs and huge ball of fire descended down on the flying worms, making their bodies crisp, some of them melting in mid-air.
Keiji fell back down on the sand just to hear the last screech. She was angry, after all Keiji just killed her children. Sand started to explode around him, and the "mother's" body flew from one place trough another circling him, just like a dolphin... every disgusting look it one at that.Finally it decided to attack and this was exactly what Keiji was waiting for. With a raging charge the monster headed directly towards him just like the last time "It seems that creatures are just as oblivious to lessons as people..." he muttered twitching his fingers to give his puppet commands. "Death" went flying over head to head with the worm beast , just as it got in range he moved it one feet above it, making it descend it's huge scythe upon the worm piercing it's body and slashing it in half as it continued to move forward. It slowed down it's maniacal charge and by the time it got close to Keiji it stopped, it's mouth contracting several times before life left it's body. "I guess that's all" muttered the boy before raising his scarf again right above the nose and heading for the village with his puppet at his back. He didn't feel the need to seal it back into the scroll, mostly because there is assurance that something or someone won't try to kill him on the road.
He managed to get back to the village safe and sound but before he went to drop the baby worm body he made a detour towards home to change clothes. As he was heading for his house he felt small twitches coming from his backpack but he ignored them thinking they are just post-death nerves activating on their own. Changing into his pajamas he grabbed at the backpack but he seemed to notice something, it was slimy. As soon as he looked at it, something ate trough it making an opening and ran away "That little piece of-..." Keiji threw it at the wall and starting looking all over his room for the small bastard though with nothing to find. It was only after he finished looking everywhere he noticed a wall on the bottom of his door. "You've got to be kidding me". Still wearing his pajamas he burst trough the door following the slimy trail. It surprised him when it suddenly stopped in the middle of the street, people walking like they haven't seen anything around him. "That's strange..." but somebody did find it. A cooking chief grabbed it from the ground and entered his restaurant yelling "Sand-worms delicacy my friends, i found one on the road right now!" "AAAAAAAAAAAAH?!" he ran as fast as he could and jumped trough the open window, rolling about two times and stopping in front of the chief holding the worm in a kneeling position with his finger pointed at him "Stop right there! That's Sunagakure official autopsy material! Hand it over to me!". The chief didn't approve, after all Keiji wasn't wearing anything as proof that he was a ninja. He always forgot to wear his Jounin Vest or Ninja bandana so this might be a lesson for future times. As they were struggling to get a better hold each of the worm, it slipped from the man's hands and fell down on one of the tables at which two love-birds were having dinner. Their faces were priceless when the monstrous little bugger ruined their meal. It started moving under the tables running away from people and trying to bit at their legs but he was stopped when it got stomped by Keiji "Not so fast you lil shit!". Everybody in the restaurant now had their eyes on the boy ninja, some angry, some terrified, some confused. There was even a guy in a corner throwing up. He grabbed the worm up the floor and headed for the autopsy building.
"I'm never hunting for worms... ever again!"
