Sunagakure was in full bloom, it was the middle of summer and Ryuza had dragged his ass all the way from a Konohagakure. He hadn’t come back to Sunagakure upon completing last mission and he had decided to sleep there. Being tired, he wasn’t really himself today but he was already back on another mission, recently he was performing various tasks and missions for the Kazekage and he knew sometime soon he would gain some recognition from her but for now he would continue on with his everyday shinobi lifestyle. Sunagakure was the same, from the various signs and banners waving slowly in the summer breeze to the decorations and tender feeling of love radiating from every citizen. It was quite different than what Konoha was like and the thing that stood out the most to the young salamander was the women. In Sunagakure they were all covered up and their fashion really didn’t appeal to him but in Konoha there were so many hotties. Today, Ryuza's attire consisted of the same things. A hood that he stitched onto his back in memory of his father and the rest of his attire was symbolic of his warrior heritage. A black vest being the only cloth to cover his torso, the bulk of his chest is exposed revealing a toned physique. His pant legs were tucked nicely into his sandals, generating a billowing effect at his ankles while his arms are protected beneath steel forearm guards. A black sash with a blade inside was present while a thick wrap rests around his forehead as a headband. Sunagakure’s insignia was embroidered along such a headband in the form of a hitai-ate. Lastly, draped loosely, though affectionately around his neck, Ryūza donned a sallow white scarf which was of great importance to Ryuza.
A duo of young partners in crime ran past Ryuza and one of them bumped into his side which made her giggle as she chased her friend. Usually Ryuza hated when people bumped into him which was pretty awkward but since it was a kid and he didn't want to start anything right now before a mission and so he held his katon to himself. As he saw all the joy in people's faces and the love that was being radiated from each person, he decided he would enjoy himself today, he would not quarrel with anybody nor would he get on anybody's nerves. As he walked through the streets he started to feel awfully thirsty and opened his backpack, he then grabbed a bottle of water from it and devoured it within seconds. He threw the tiny bottle of water onto the ground and continued to walk forwards. Today he had an odd mission, the village council had invited him to partake in an event that was simply to test his skill and that must have meant they had recognized him in a way. They had brought these creatures called ‘wolves’ all the way from the land of Konoha but sadly on his trip he did not have enough time to observe them. Now, ‘wolves’ didn’t really sound intimidating to Ryuza and for all he knew they could be cute relatives of the sand bunny but he was sure that they weren’t, how could a creature that small and cuddly test his skill?
A couple more minutes and he had reached the assigned destination, two bodyguards of large stature stood outside and they studied him from head to toe and then a simple nod to one another was all he needed in order to enter the building. As he entered the doors quickly closed behind him and he whipped around out of instinct, he tried opening them but he was locked in and as soon as he turned around once again a man and two ladies stood in front of him.
The man was a stubby, gluttonous person who portrayed a somewhat dirty image that is akin to the reminiscent of a wild beast. Short and bulky, the old man seemed like he was quite careless when it came to his appearance. Unlike his frame, the man had very long, unkempt black hair. The clothing of the older shinobi was simple; a tangerine-colored yukata covers the majority of his body. The symbol of the Sand Village is engraved into a silver plate, replacing the commonly used headband with a black sash that is worn on his waist, also keeping his yukata controlled and attached. The traditional black shinobi sandals are worn as his footwear, completing his overall clothing (besides his tighty-whities, of course). Lastly, the man was hardly seen without any weapons, and managed to constantly drag around these gargantuan items with a black harness that remains wrapped diagonally across his chest, the large holster at his rear seating the various weapons for his random expeditions of hunting and combat.
The two ladies were practically wearing nothing but Ryuza didn’t pay so much attention to them and without making Ryuza wait any longer the man spoke.
“You know why you’re here, we’ve chose wolves for you to battle since they are not native to this land and knowing you, you’ve probably never seen them. These wolves fight in packs so be aware of your surroundings and use them to your advantage.
Ryuza grinned. “I’ll be able to take anything down, give me the best shinobi in the world and I’m sure I’ll give a good fight.”. Without listening to the salamander, the man simply moved to the side along with the girls and he pointed to the door in front of him. Ryuza then continued into that direction and opened the doors, as soon as he opened it a shining light blinded his eye’s but within a few seconds he was back to his senses and in front of him stood six wolves with their yellowish eye’s locked onto him. They truly were not what he was expecting at the beginning of this mission, he imagined them to be small threats but when these guys bore their fangs they looked like they could rip Ryuza to shreds but he couldn’t die here. Even if he was unsuccessful on taking them out, he was sure they had shinobi evaluating him and would help him if needed. He jumped down from his position and now he was in the ring with the wolves. They were covered in four and each had four legs, they had yellow eyes that signified ‘you’re next’ and ‘we’re hungry’. Ryuza scratched his nose, blinked and whispered to himself ‘don’t be afraid’. He quickly got into his fighting stance and almost instantly the pack of wolves got into a V type formation and then the head of the pack attacked first.
Now, he wasn’t sure if he could attack this wolf with some simple Taijutsu so he was going to try some Genjutsu on it just to test it. Quickly performing one handseal and then staring into the eye’s of the wolf, the salamander performed Mist Servant Technique, eerie black figures started to emerge from a nearby rock and the head started to seem to get distracted every time he took a step. The chunin decided to take advantage of this situation and he was going to perform Dynamic Entry. Quickly jumping into the air, he used his momentum to propel himself at the wolf and delivered a solid kick to his face. Possibly breaking something but the wolf wasn’t getting up anytime soon. One down, five more to go.
Ryuza knew two other wolves were going crazy with all the black illusions appearing before them and they started to run around like mental prisoners submitted to an asylum. There were still three more and they were all charging for him, he didn’t have time to react and within seconds he went crashing into a wall. Shaken up, he managed to get him and get back into his stance. He produced yet another Dynamic Entry to knock one out but the other wolf took advantage of this hole and hopped onto him. It went to bite his head off but he dodged it with a swift move of his head and punched it in the face which forced the wolf to jump off, while in range, he delivered a kick to its jaw (not a jutsu) and it went flying to the ceiling, coming crashing down hard. He locked eye’s with the other wolf and it simply fell under the same genjutsu as the other two. He didn’t have any bags to sack the creatures in so he decided he was just going to kick each and every one of them until they were all knocked out. It took him around ten minutes of spamming Dynamic Entry to finally get all of them due to the fact he missed some of his kicks and crashed into the walls surrounding him. After the job was done he quickly stopped the Genjutsu to relieve the beasts of their terror but then he heard a roar from behind him and one of the wolves were still awake and already charging at him. Quickly whipping around and getting into the proper fighting stance, when the wolf was close enough he performed Intersection Technique and crushed the wolf’s skull. When he heard the crack, he simply laid the wolf down, hopped up and left the arena.
