Phase One: Locating Copycat Red, She'd only just returned from the Summer Festival in Konoha, but she'd been forced to head out almost directly afterward, leaving Shin and her other shinobi in the dust. It was only late afternoon and everything was already going to hell. Another report had come in that told about the woman who looked exactly like Demiyah and was causing trouble around the lands by performing acts of crime. There was backlash aimed at the Kazekage that framed her for the crime spree, and that was precisely why Demiyah had left the office so quickly on the pretense that she had a sudden meeting early in the morning. She'd only now arrived in Kawa no Kuni, having run the entire way. Let them think that she was causing all of this destruction. Demiyah would surely put an end to this copycats antics. The council had requested that it be her to do the honors, as the woman seemed determined to sully the Kazekage's name and Sunagakure's integrity. Demiyah would be damned if the woman succeeded. She herself was still trying to keep the talk of the injuries she sustained at the Kage Summit quiet. Thankfully her mind had been forgiving thus far in her journey to the foreign land. Adding a dark cloak to her wardrobe, Demiyah had pulled up the hood quite a while ago. The new weapon she'd acquired the week before was hitched to her left hip, her bow and quiver hidden under the cloak. To anyone passing by, she appeared to be a simple traveler with the desire to remain anonymous. No one could blame her. If anyone spotted who she was, the entire plan could be ruined before it even began. Demiyah had spent her long hours in the desert forming her entire course of action and even a few fall backs in case something went completely wrong with her mission. The imposter was sure to get a rude awakening when she was caught red handed by the very woman she'd decided to masquerade as. Demiyah had refrained from taking any other shinobi with her, wanting to keep herself as hidden as she possibly could considering the situation. If Sunagakure ANBU were spotted here, it could likely spook the unknown woman and Demiyah would lose all chance to capture her. She wouldn't get another chance like this, she knew. Everything had to be done by herself using her own skills. This was the only way. Besides, it was easier to create a plan of action when it was just yourself that you had to look out for. The young Kazekage paused at a merchants stand, pretending to observe the selection of fresh apples. She picked one up, rubbing it's skin until it was shiny, staring at the reflection behind her, on watch for anything out of the usual. Apparently the woman that she was looking for looked not only very similar to Demiyah, but also carried and used a bow just like she did. It was a tricky situation indeed, especially if the woman was as close as Demiyah thought her to be. Sighing heavily, she placed out a little money to pay for the single apple, pausing to listen to the stall owner talking to his assistant as he took the Kazekage's money. "You know, Gi," the man started, not paying the lingering Kazekage any attention, "I heard this morning that they spotted the Kazekage in town. She was lingering around the towns muesum for some reason, but not one stopped to talk to her, and our shinobi can't even get close to her." His partner sighed heavily in response, "When are they going to just stop that wretched woman? She's caused so much trouble in Tsuchi no Kuni, why are they letting it continue here? If there's something she's looking to steal in the museum, we should be watching her closely." "Ah. Well. As I said, they can't even get close to her. She puts barriers up or something. No one's been able to touch her, that's why they haven't caught her yet," the stall owner said with an heir of finality. Demiyah was still lingering, staring at him from underneath the hood of her cloak, silently trying to recall the layout of this village, her mind running through ever alley way and building as carefully as she could manage. "Oi, woman. Are you going to stand there all day, or are you going to get out of the way so other customers can look? I don't make money if you loiter, you know." Breaking her focus, she lifted her head a little more, watching the stall keeper with blood red eyes, "I apologize," she noted. What she didn't see, from her left side blind spot, was a woman running down the street, stuffing something into a bag as she ran. There was a group of shinobi running after her, dangerously close to catching up, screaming that the Kazekage was a thief. Turning her head, Demiyah's eyes grew wide. A shock of red hair, features very similar to the Kazekage herself, and a bow and arrow on her back. But there were also very many differences. Her eyes were brown, not red, and she didn't have a scar down the left side of her face. Smirking to herself, Demiyah let her own pride push forward, 'I wonder if she only had one eye to use like me, if she'd be able to use that bow.' Calmly, Demiyah stepped away from the stall, noting the stares of all the villagers at the sudden intrusion of another person in the mix. The Copycat glared ahead, "Get the hell out of the way!" she screamed at Demiyah. That only served to make the Kazekage steady herself a little bit, bracing herself against the ground as she slowly untied the cloak, letting it fall off her shoulders. The real Red looked utterly furious with the imposter that was running toward her, suddenly looking like she'd seen a ghost. Then again, this Copycat didn't know anything about seeing ghosts, did she? Oh no. No she didn't. She wouldn't wish that horror on anyone else, regardless of the crimes that they'd committed. "I'm sorry, sweetheart, but I'm not going to let you get away with whatever you've just stolen. You want to pose as me?" Demiyah noted with a small, thirsty grin on her features. She was ready for battle, and this woman would do just the trick, "Then you're going to get my wrath." Grabbing her bow off her back and loading an arrow before most even realized what she was doing, she released the arrow into the air, effectively aiming to catch the strap of the imposters bag. It ripped from the imposters grasp, soared through the air, and lodged itself safely into a wall, far away from any civilian on the street. Everyone stayed back close to the sides of the street, observing the battle that was brewing right in front of them. All there was was silence, the imposter now stopped only ten feet from the true Kazekage, her lips parted just slightly in shock that her prize had been ripped from her so easily. "That's right, wretch. I'm here to take you back to Sunagakure. You did a great job in getting my attention, didn't you?" Demiyah noted, her lips twisted into a deadly smile. | ◀ MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS word count: #1230 |
