OUT OF CHARACTER! Unison Sign is officially open! We've completely overhauled the site giving it a new look, new backstory, and new role playing system. We're still rolling out information posts and making changes to the board but feel free to get started on your characters and jump into the role play whenever you're ready. Make sure you are familiar with all of our new threads before you do though!
IN CHARACTER With the release of the bijuu and chakra reappearing in humans, the world has become incredibly unstable. To protect themselves from discrimination and prepare for the trials ahead clans of shinobi have started to gather together to form villages. Two villages already exist and this has put pressure on other clans to start to come together under their own banners. Will you help create these villages or do everything you can to stop them?

You got to cry without weeping Talk without speaking Scream without raising your voice Very few lingered around Iwa’s gate at this time of morning, not even Masaki who often slept little and walked more during his nights of insomnia. But if his team wanted to do a surprise assult on the rabid BeastvTamer then it was before dawn they needed to leave. Not that Masaki knew who ‘they’ were in his team at this point. In fact, the Tsuchikage had been eerily quiet of late and missions such as these were handed out on a whim, barely gathering a team together before the Iwa shinobi were sent out. Perhaps a paper had gone out, Masaki assumed, or other shinobi had signed up after him and it was his fault he hadn’t walked over to review it. Either way, Masaki felt a bit embarrassed he didn’t know who his fellow teammates were going to be for this mission. The only upside to this was that the man had lived in Iwa for such a long time now that he knew most if not all of the other main shinobi and working together wouldn't be an issue. He wondered if Kensaku would be joining him again. Stifling a yawn, Masaki leant against the hard pillars of rock encasing Iwa as he waited. And waited. There wasn’t much Masaki could do that he hadn’t already done already. He’d reviewed the mission, knew the surrounding locations by heart, and made sure his team of genin had a “pick up garbage from the streets” sort of mission to occupy themselves with while he was gone. Masaki couldn’t help but be early, though, it seemed to run in his blood despite the man being systematic and slow with everything else. The jounin peered down the main road back into Iwagakure, the shadows of night receding away as rays of the sun’s light struck them squarely. Still, even with the sun just now appearing on the horizon, it was hard for Masaki to see correctly. His viridian orbs squintied till the man, exasperated by his own weakening sight, jammed his hand into his pants pocket and pulled out a monocle. Only those with access to his medical sheet and the Kage knew how damaged his right eye was nowadays and it was a secret that Masaki wanted to keep. It took Masaki a moment to fiddle around with his monocle before finding the right position and, after a blink or two, the street became clear to his injured eye. His longer hair, covering most of his green forehead protector, and some of the monocle became a blessing to Masaki as he felt like it detracted attention away from the object aiding his sight. Yet, even with the monocle, Masaki still couldn’t see anyone approaching him. His lips pressed together. The man paused, looked around again, and then gave up, relenting to how uncomfortable he felt with the blasted monocle. Knowing he couldn’t will his teammates to show up any faster, Masaki reached up and pulled off his glasses, cleaning it against his shirt before pocketing the item. With nothing else to do, Masaki watched the sunrise --- Kurohane Gaiken Ryuutarou Suoh- 501- Notes: Decided to use my starter I had for this mission before. ~If you want to be successful, then choose to want the success as much as you want fresh air!~
Fog, fog everywhere, that's what Gaiken was seeing. He didn't know where he was and how he got there, but he knew one thing: he had to get out of there fast. Even if it was either left or right, forward of backward, the movements didn't matter, as the only things he was able to see were the ground under his feet and the mist, that didn't seem to get ticker. Suddenly, a kunai was aimed at Gaiken and, as he was close to dodging it, his body froze. He felt exactly how the kunai pierced his skin and as the blood was about to come out, his eyes opened. It has been just a dream, but that dream kept repeating itself during these years that have passed. His older brother was still on his mind and Gaiken's urge of revenge wasn't calming down.
As he got out of the bed, Gaiken felt like this dream had something to do with his future, like he'll have to face his brother's killer and that he'll have to prepare for that moment. This dream was mentally preparing the young Jounin for the future events that were about to become real. After eating, he dressed-up and prepared for the upcoming events. Today he needed to work, so he had to wear his Jounin Jacket, alongside with the rest of the uniform. His dream was to become an ANBU and to kill the one who destroyed Gaiken's brother's life. But a good seat in the Tsuchikage room wouldn't be rejected. But, after all, those are just dreams and if you don't work to turn them into reality, it's useless.
Gaiken was finally outside, where he could hink clearly, as he was breathing fresh air. The sun wasn't up yet, so it meant that it was still too early for his normal activity. He was going to the Rocky Mountains, outside the normal Iwagakure. That was a location that he didn't visit too much. He was normally training in the Aokigahara Forest, as he loves the surroundings out there. The air was going straight in Gaiken's face and this was getting him ready and fresh for the future events that were going to occur. Gaiken already had the info for the mission from the other day and he read it wisely more that one time. But after all, it was just another B-Ranked mission that wasn't going to affect him too much.
He finally arrived there, it was a really gorgeous view, just when the sun was about to rise. Gaiken saw someone that was looking at the sunrise and he decided to approach and say the following words: "I believe you must be Masaki!".

murder with no killing | Kensaku stood in his dark-green coat, taking stock of his apartment. Satisfied that nothing was going to attract bugs, he grabbed his vest off the rack by the door, picked up the scroll containing his puppet from a separate rack that had room for more once he got around to replacing the ones he'd broken, and locked the door behind him, setting off at a leisurely jog through the predawn light in Iwagakure. He'd signed up for this mission because he didn't see anyone else he'd rather work with, besides Masaki. He'd heard that another Jounin, one Murazaki Gaiken, had signed up after he had, but he hadn't had much cause to chat with him before. The prospect of spending time with another jounin besides Masaki was interesting, but Kensaku wished he could get a mission with one of his old teammates. Soon enough, he approached the gate in time with the sunrise, Masaki and another man he assumed was Murazaki waiting for him. "Masaki! Find any good puzzles since our last mission?" As he slowed to a stop next to the pair of them, he gestured to the gate, walking backwards and talking. "And you must be Murazaki? Kensaku Kanada, pleasure to meet you. Well, we've met, but I don't remember talking much. I tend to stick to smaller groups during the larger social functions." |

You got to cry without weeping Talk without speaking Scream without raising your voice Shafts of light pierced Masaki, striking his head, heart, and the space around him as he faced the rising sun. He kept his eyes hitched higher than the spectacle, just catching hints of the sunrise to ensure he didn’t damage his sight even more. The cooler air trapped by the elevated village and mountain peaks made it so the jounin could feel the sun’s heat where it stabbed him, radiating out as if it was his blood that warmed him and not the light. How beautifully morbid his thoughts were becoming lately. Masaki shook his head, gaze falling from the horizon to land back into Iwa’s streets. Someone was approaching. Dark hair and a lean body neared him, the jounin vest giving away the stranger’s rank just as Masaki’s own vest did to him. If Masaki’s hunch was correct then this was Murakazi Gaiken, a new addition to the jounin ranks and a young one at that, nearly a decade between him and Masaki. What Masaki had heard of the young man’s Genjutsu, however, clearly indicated what Murakaze lacked in age he made up in skill. The teenager was known for his unique Genjutsu and Masaki was eager to see it in practice, as well as learn the other skills the young jounin had to offer. “You would be correct,” Masaki smiled back politely, lifting a hand in greeting. “And you are Murakazi? I’ve heard impressive stories about you now that you’ve graduated from tokubetsu jounin. It will be a pleasure to work with you.”Yet, before Masaki could continue with the formalities, he caught another figure jogging over to them. It was someone he knew and recognized well, a true smile forming on his face as Kensaku reached them. To know now that his fellow teammates included Kensaku made the ivy wielding shinobi confident they would be able to do this mission correctly. He didn’t know how Murakzi’s mind worked, but he did know Kensaku’s. “Actually, I managed to buy two installments from a Kumo merchant. Apparently their puzzle master in the clouds is a struggle for anyone to solve. Speak to me later, Kensaku, and perhaps we’ll have a challenge between us when this mission is done,” Masaki’s offer was true and of good nature. Letting the other two men acquaint themselves with each other Masaki nodded, leading their group out of the village. As he walked Masaki started to debrief them. Not because he worried they hadn’t read or memorized the mission, but simply because the man was a man of habit. He liked to go through his details not once, but twice, and with his companions present. There would be no foolish errors on their account. “The reports of animal attacks on travelers has increased in the last few weeks and, from the sounds of it, we’ve got a pack of chakra wielding animals we need to take care of,” Masaki said, voice low and smooth. “Yet, and correct me if you think I’m wrong, I have a feeling there is something else behind these attacks. Your thoughts?”

~If you want to be successful, then choose to want the success as much as you want fresh air!~
"Well, Murakazi is my clan's name, as my real name is Gaiken, but you can call me as you wish as long as we finish this mission as fast as possible!" Gaiken didn't like the fact that he had a mission as such an early time, but he had to do it in order to gain money for equipment and get more experience and reputation in this village. These things were necessary. He met both Kensaku Kanada and Masaki. They seemed like they were some nice people but he still didn't know enough to cross a line and take a decision regarding his friendship with them. Gaiken knew them both from what he remembered. He believed that Masaki was also called "The Spider Sage" as he was pretty much one of the only sages of the village. A truly powerful shinobi with unknown abilities. Gaiken was searching for such a person and might've found it. He would surely keep an eye on Masaki and see what he can find out about him. On the other hand, Kensaku Kanada was a puppeteer and also a great Ninjutsu and Medical Ninjutsu user. He was a great shinobi indeed and also a good target to keep his eyes on. Soon, they finally started talking about business. They were really taking it seriously, so, Gaiken had to start thinking as a real shinobi and help them out with this problem. While leading them out of the village, Masaki was telling them his main idea of what is happening . He was talking about the fact that there may be something else that's hiding behind these wild animals' attacks. Gaiken took a good amount of air in his lungs and he started speaking: "I personally think that there's a person behind these attacks! Animals with chakra that attack people? That can't be something made out by the nature, it's something created by the human hand, something like Chakra implanting, using high Medical Ninjutsu skills! If that's the case, this mission will be easier that I thought!"After finishing what he had to say, Gaiken stopped for a moment and he waited for his commrades to share their own thoughts.
