Welcome to Unison Sign! We are a reimagined Naruto site taking place in an alternate world to the one from the canon. The continent we live on has greatly destabilized since the emergence of chakra. Bijuu now roam the earth and secrets from centuries ago are being discovered. To protect themselves and to better prepare for the road ahead, clans of shinobi have started to band together in groups and are setting up villages in which they can reside free of discrimination. Join us as we build this world from the ground up.

some info
OUT OF CHARACTER! Unison Sign is officially open! We've completely overhauled the site giving it a new look, new backstory, and new role playing system. We're still rolling out information posts and making changes to the board but feel free to get started on your characters and jump into the role play whenever you're ready. Make sure you are familiar with all of our new threads before you do though!
IN CHARACTER With the release of the bijuu and chakra reappearing in humans, the world has become incredibly unstable. To protect themselves from discrimination and prepare for the trials ahead clans of shinobi have started to gather together to form villages. Two villages already exist and this has put pressure on other clans to start to come together under their own banners. Will you help create these villages or do everything you can to stop them?

KurayamiMasahiro... a young shinobi... and a bit too naive. Thinking that the Government system in Kiri was not something he wanted to follow, he left. Bad part on Hiro's end. He left with no notice. This classified him as a missing ninja. As the months passed, Hiro contemplated what he did. As time went one, he grew more sorrowful. He missed his village. The waves on the edges, his comrades, the general atmosphere of the entire place. Not to mention, he was not a strong shinobi, and being in bingo books was dangerous. Hiro realised his mistake in leaving the village. Deciding to accept any punishment, even if it meant death, Hiro entered into the village. Quickly and quietly, managing (somehow) to make it all the way to the Mizukage's offices. It was day time, nearing 3pm. Hiro knew the kage would most likely be around. Entering the building, he put his hands up in surrender. While doing this, all his weapons and packs dropped to the ground. "I come in peace, I wish to speak to the kage." Hiro merely stated softly. His voice was calm, but there was a tint of fear in it, lingering. He knew that at any moment, he could be lying on the ground dead. After all, his capture was noted to be dead or alive. He just hoped he could talk himself through this before death came. The Mizukage was an understanding man, from what Masahiro had observed in the past. However, what Hiro did warranted death. Though Hiro was scared (quite literally to death) of what the outcome would be, he accepted his fate. After all, it was his choices that brought him to this bad situation.

The mist outside seemed to be unusually heavy today. It blocked off much of the sunlight, creating a cool atmosphere within the village. It was especially cool outside for a mid-afternoon, even for a village hidden from most of the sunlight that warmed the Earth. Kazu had been at his duties for hours now. Piles upon piles of paperwork. He could only wonder when this nonsense would end. It always seemed to be the same thing day in and day out for him. Though, you would never hear him complain. That is what he signed up for becoming the Mizukage, after all.
A loud commotion could be heard from outside of the door to his office. It seemed to be coming from the outside. What on Earth was it? Kazu stood from his seat, sliding it back with the backs of his legs as the feet of the chair scraped against the wooden floor. Kazu maneuvered around his desk and towards the door, which hadn't been completely shut from his last visitor. Kazu reached for the handle, pulling it open. The hinges creaked slightly as the door slowly revealed a hallway. At the end of the hallway a man stood, surrounded by the guards that watched over the building of the Mizukage. Kazu gazed forward curiously, and began to make his way towards his guards.
Standing there, surrounded by the guards was a familiar face. One who had originally resided within Kirigakure, but left without notice. A man Kazu had released a bounty for. Masahiro, or more commonly referred to as Hiro. He appeared to be unarmed as all of his equipment had been dropped to the floor.
Could he be... surrendering?
"Leave us." Kazu barked as he raised his right arm into the air, signalling his guards to leave the two of them in peace. Kazu examined the missing-nin from head to toe, wondering if this might be a trap. He fixed his gaze upon Hiro's face, and stared coldly into his eyes.
"Hiro." Kazu began. "You will not get away, I promise you that. Step into my office. I'd like to ask you some questions before I decide your fate." Kazu reached behind him, pulling his trusted blade, Izanami, a Kusarigama Kazu had custom made for himself. "If I like your answers, I will lock you away and spare you your life. Otherwise, you will die."

Taking an enormous breath in, long and deep, Hiro followed the Mizukage into his office. Wearily, Hiro eyes the weapon in Kazu's hand. "Life of imprisonment seems worse than death, if you ask me. You could just make it easy on yourself and go straight for death." Hiro muttered. He sighed, starting to wonder what he was doing here. At least as a rouge, he could have avoided the village, but on the other hand, Hiro did not want to run anymore. Regardless of what had happened, Hiro still respected his home village. "In any case, at least this way, I can die in my home village. Not out somewhere far away from here." Hiro had sort of meant this last statement to be in his head, but the words ended up escaping his lips. With a quick shrug, disregarding his comment, Hiro turned to Kazu. "What would your questions be for me, sir?" Hiro asked softly. His voice had a steady tone, his eyes focused onto the Mizukage.
Even if Hiro's voice might have sounded confident, like he was not worried, it could not hide the flicker of fear that sparked into Hiro's eyes from time to time. At any moment, Kazu could decide to end Hiro's life. It was not that Hiro feared death. He feared not knowing. Not knowing what his fate would be. Not knowing when his fate would be decided. Just... not knowing anything.
From what Kazu had said, it was clear to Hiro that death was certain, seeing as Hiro would probably ask for death should life of imprisonment be sentenced. If Hiro were to go to prison for a few months then be let go, he could deal with that. But living in a cage for the rest of his life, this did not suit well with Hiro at all.
