With the site update there are now two different categories of item; Standard items and Chakra Infused items. Standard items will cover most of it items that were present on the site before the update. Chakra Infused items are a new concept designed to add a unique element to the typical jutsu-based combat and these use a different ranking system and template. All rules regarding these new items will be discussed at the bottom of this post. As with before the update, it is mandatory that you apply for most of the items, weapons and armor that your character will use IC. Once your item has been approved it will have to be purchased with ryo. Basic items may not be that costly but items with a higher rank can be quite expensive. All standard items are ranked based on their effectiveness and rarity using the following scale:
E-Rank: Standard ninja tools fall under this category. Easy to come by and often owned by everyone.
D-Rank: Most basic combat items would belong to this category. i.e. Standard swords, shields and armor
C-Rank: Weak poisons, more durable armor and well crafted weapons are considered to be C-rank.
B-Rank: Well made items and equipment as well as strong poisons and most antidotes.
A-Rank: Items of this category can be unique and have special abilities, such as elemental alignment.
S-Rank: These items are incredibly rare and almost always one of a kind. Capable of actually using their wielder's chakra to become stronger.
SS-Rank: Reserved for plot/event characters.
When creating your own custom items it is important to use the above information as a guideline to judge what rank your item would be. These are not set in stone rules and only provide a few examples of what would fit into that category, but they should be followed unless you believe that you can convince us your item belongs in a different rank.
Below you will find the template that you must fill out and post in the Item Shop for all of the items you are applying for. Once your application has been reviewed by a member of staff and approved, you can choose to immediately purchase your item, or hold off until you decide you want to buy it. The cost of your item will be determined by the staff member who approved your item and their decision will be based on several factors, the primary one being the items rank. If you do not have enough ryo to purchase your custom item at that time you will have to wait until you can afford it before using it in character. Once the item is paid for you may add it to your inventory in your Bingo Book entry. If the staff who approved the item placed any other criteria on receiving the item, such as role playing how your character gets it, you must do this before you may use the item IC.
Item: What kind of item is it? If it has one, also provide the name.
Appearance: What does the item look like? If an image is provided you do not need to provide a written description.
Rank: See ranks above and select accordingly. If you are unsure about what rank your item should be just select what you think is the best option and staff will review it.
Quantity: How many of the item do you want to purchase? Mostly applicable to E-C Rank items.
Description: Provide a detailed description of what it is used for or what special abilities it has.
Chakra Infused Items
Chakra Infused Items have been introduced to Elysium by way of the new plot. In an effort to one-up each other in combat the major villages started producing special Chakra Infused items. These items, usually taking the form of weapons or armour, were designed to give otherwise unskilled shinobi a more powerful array of skills to use. As the name suggests, they have their own chakra reserves and by drawing on their wielder's power are capable of launching jutsu-like attacks. In theory, this would allows even a genin to use a powerful A-Rank technique, with the right weapon in hand. These items were never mass produced, so each one is unique. They were fairly common during the war, though their creation was outlawed after its conclusion. Despite this, they are relatively easy to come by and many shinobi have developed combat tactics based around their respective weapons.
Essentially, these are just specialty weapons that you can create for your character. In their simplest form, they can be thought of as pocket jutsu. Though if utilized correctly they can be the basis for an entire combat style. These items will always have unique characteristics and abilities (such as the ability to release a wind shockwave, or electrocute on touch). These examples are rather simple though so feel free to get creative with it. You can apply for a Chakra Infused item regardless of your rank and, as suggested above, can be used to grant even low ranking shinobi powerful techniques to use in combat.
For the time being, you will only be permitted to purchase one per character. Chakra Infused items will always be between B and S-Rank and will typically be two to three times as expensive as the standard items, depending on their abilities. You may get rid of an old item so that you may upgrade to a new one if you wish. To apply for a Chakra Infused item simply fill out the template below:
