Katsu stands roughly five feet and six inches, weighing close to fifty five kilograms. His pale skin is complimented by oceanic blue eyes and long vermilion hair, braided down to his lower back and left rather messy up on top. He has a rather smooth and sharp jaw line with a pointed chin, the corners of his mouth curl up naturally into a smile.
As far as attire goes, he wears a black long sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up past his elbows. On the back of the shirt is his clan symbol stitched upon, the umbrella of the Yato. His forehead protector is placed around his waist upon a blue sash, with 'Sunagakure' inscribed upon the cloth in kanji. Below that he wears light brown quarter lengths, bandages wrapped around his ankles and shins and a pair of standard black ninja sandals.
When in places of intense sunlight, he will usually wear similar attire, though he will be wrapped head to toe in bandages. |
Katsu is best described as a cold, arrogant and somewhat cruel child. His strict upbringing within his clan has caused him to be indifferent to the outside world and because of that, he suffers from a strong superiority complex. Katsu's primary ambition is to fight, defeat and even kill anyone who would be considered stronger than him, even if that were to one day mean the Kazekage. His youth causes him to be naive and rush into things, his unrealistic assessment of his own ability can often be a hindrance when against impossible odds though his confidence can often throw a complacent opponent off.
This in turn often affects his ability to make friends. To date, Katsu has no friends out with his clan and part of him does not intend to make any. The other part of him seeks acknowledgement from others, though he knows that getting too close to his comrades would be a bad thing. In the Yato frame of mind, he must show no pity towards family or comrades, such could be shown as a sign of weakness.
Despite this, he does have morals. Katsu would refuse to kill or harm any civilian or child not involved in a shinobi line of work, regardless if they were with holding any information. This is because he firmly believes that the weak should be protected by the strong, instead of abused by power.
While his combat obsessive nature surrounds most of his life, there are many things he enjoys outside of being a ninja. Meditation is something he takes part in, usually as a daily ritual of sorts in the morning and before he sleeps. He finds clearing his mind of unwanted thoughts and focusing on his ambitions and life purpose prepares him for the day and settles him to sleep at night.

Katsu was born into the Yato clan, a clan with a feared reputation of producing bloodthirsty, strong and ambitious ninja. Naturally, from the moment he was born, Katsu was destined to continue the legacy of his clan. From the moment he could walk, he was trained in the ways of a ninja. Endless doctrines and skill tests awaited the young Yato, who had been practically brainwashed with the goal of being the best of the best. For any insubordination, Katsu was punished by his father until he had perfected what he could of the ninja basics before being sent to the academy.
Upon arrival in the academy, Katsu was given a mixed reception. Sensei's and teachers admired his skill and ability to pick up seals and jutsu very quickly, though often shunned his lack of team work. Many students would often make fun of him for his umbrella that he carried, some going as far to bully and take it from him in the sunlight to see the reaction his skin would take. This is what completely changed Katsu's perception on others.
He became cold, distant and thought of himself as above the peons within his class. Whenever he was made fun of, he would often attempt to attack other students, which resulted in disciplinary action both from his Sensei and his father. The old man didn't want the Yato clan to be viewed as brutes, as such, Katsu was told to tone down on his temper or suffer the calamity of being suspended.
Despite graduating and then being put into a Genin cell, Katsu has still not conformed to the idea of teamwork though he has proved able to handle himself on numerous occasions when under the pressures of missions. This is perhaps the saving grace in a boy who is considered a problem child within the ranks, though his potential outweighs his personality in many regards. Only time will tell if he truly has what it takes to be a ninja - or die trying. | ooc info
