appearance
Demiyah stands at an average height of five feet and eight inches tall. She has blood red hair that reaches all the way down to her hips. She keeps it up in a ponytail most of the time, not wanting it to get in the way while she is on a mission or training. Her eyes are a dark red color, almost matching the vibrant, and very natural, color of her hair. She has thin lips and rather averagely shaped cheek bones. Being the serious and ever contemplating woman that she is, you never see her smile too much. Her expressions are often vacant or disinterested, though on the inside she may be feeling something completely different.
The young ninja has a lithe body and she is very well endowed in the chest area. She's not shy about her appearance and doesn't try to cover herself up with clothing, mostly because she feels that too much just gets in the way when she's working. She's got long, toned legs and arms and nimble fingers. She has a tattoo on her left shoulder of her clans symbol in jet black ink. She has a second tattoo on her right hip of a hawk in a tribal style.
COMBAT OUTFIT
Starting Demiyah's outfit is a simple pair of short, black cloth shorts. They don't reach very far down her body, barely making it a quarter of the way down her thighs. She wears a dark brown leather top that's lined with protective padding and a layer of white cloth near the bottom to help with gaps in the armor. The shirt is tight and is open from the middle of her chest all the way to her neck. The only thing keeping the shirt closed is a collar-like piece that wraps around her neck to protect the sensitive and crucial area there. Under the shirt, she wears a article of clothing that has sleeves but stops just below her collarbone. Demiyah has metal shoulder plates, arm plates, and hand protectors to keep her extremities safe. To top the entire outfit off, she wears knee high leather boots. The edges fold over to give a more aesthetically pleasing look. She has a strap around her left leg, and another strap around her right leg that holds her main ninja tools. She carries a quiver and her bow on her back, and the scrolls that she carries she keeps hooked on the back right side of her belt for easy access. Demiyah wears this outfit in situations both to do with her job and that are casual. In colder weather, Demiyah pairs this outfit with long, black leggings and a long-sleeved shirt. A light fur cloak finishes off the outfit, along with a light colored scarf to cover her face.
When it comes to formal wear, Demiyah tries to keep her wardrobe simple. She wears simple wooden sandals and a plain, plum colored kimono with nothing on it except for a small embroidered path with her clans symbol on it. She wears her hair up in a tight bun with nothing holding it up except for a crimson colored ribbon.
Demiyah only wears one piece of jewelry: a pendant. Her and her sister both have the same one. Demiyah views it as a way to strengthen her connection with her sister, and she never takes it off. She never has and she never will if she can so help it.

history
Demiyah was born in the Land of Volcanoes. Specifically, she was born in the village of Okasato. The elder sister to a younger sister named Amaya, Demiyah and Amaya were on their own from a rather young age. When Demiyah was six years old, their father passed away, and by eight, two years after Amaya was born, their mother took her own life, leaving the girls on the streets and without a penny to their names. They struggled for almost a year before anyone in the village really seemed to give a care. It was when Amaya grew incredibly ill that a kind woman took them into her care.
They settled into farm life very quickly. Demiyah did various chores around the house, took care of livestock, and learned to protect the farm from the monsters that roamed the Land of Volcanoes. She took to the use of bow and arrow quickly, successfully warding off beasts and poachers alike with the threat of raining arrows. Amaya, on the other hand, had an easy first few years on the farm. The woman, named Nami, focused on teaching Amaya to read and write, teaching Demiyah whenever her chores were complete. After Amaya turned six, she took on some of the chores along with her sister.
The two took care of the farm and the lady who took them in. By the time that Demiyah was 16, she had pretty much mastered the bow. All of her free time would be put into practicing or hunting food for dinner. However, one day, when she was out hunting alone, something weird happened to her. She had come up against a fearsome lion-like beast. A beast that she had no hope of trying to defeat on her own. At least, not with just a bow and arrow in hand. As she was running away, she instinctively made a few hand signs, and suddenly she felt as if she were suddenly speeding forward. She was speeding forward, but it was wind that had pushed her forward. She outran the lion, and made it back to the farm safe and sound, but the sudden gust of wind frightened her. She didn't say a word to anyone about it.
However, as the year progressed, she found herself more and more drawn to the power that she had exhibited while running from the wild beast. She would spend longer and longer days out in the forest, throwing wind ball after wind ball until she'd almost exhausted herself. She found that not only was she able to use wind, but also lightning and bend it to her will.
Demiyah was very aware of the stories about the long dead shinobi, and she was even more aware of her villages hatred for shinobi. Deep inside, she understood that she wouldn't always be able to keep this budding part of herself a secret, as much as she would try. However, so long as she had Amaya to care for, and Nami to look after, she wasn't willing to expose herself.
She wasn't able to keep it a secret for long. After a very long day of working on the farm and then training with her new found abilities, the two people she was closest with happened upon her while she was working on a jutsu. Nami and Amaya didn't say anything at first, but when Demiyah turned around and saw them, she realized that she had been found out. There wasn't any fallout, though. In fact, Nami admitted that she, too, was able to use chakra and that in recent months Amaya had started to show her abilities. The reason that the old woman lived so far on the outskirts of the village was because of the ease in which she was able to hide her true self. Nami did warn the two girls that there would be dire consequences if they ever revealed themselves to the village. The citizens' deeply rooted hatred for the shinobi would not be swayed in a day and if they were to be found out, the three of them would be in extreme danger.
Nami put forth a lot of effort training the two young girls, though. Every chance that they got, the trio was in the forest, training and practicing. Nami told them stories of the countries that could be found in every direction and of how so many of these places held people like Demiyah and Amaya. Her goal was to not only help them protect themselves, but also to show them what power they possessed so that they might one day seek one of these countries out and settle down where shinobi weren't so hated.
As the years continued to pass, Amaya and Demiyah honed their skills. Together, they were strong. Apart, they were still strong. Elder and younger sisters formed a deep bond that they had never truly had because of the fear of their abilities. Demiyah loved her sister dearly and the two of them became utterly inseparable. There was still quite a bit of fear when they went into town, though. The fact that one slip up could lead to their demise in a village full of shinobi haters was a terrifying thing to have to deal with. They kept to themselves most of the time, usually just buying their supplies and heading right back to the farm to finish chores.
On their last day in the village, when Demiyah was 20 years old and Amaya was 14, however, it became impossible to hide their skills. Bandit raids weren't a common occurrence, but they happened often enough that the girls knew when to book it home for the sake or protecting Nami and the farm. That day was different. The raid was worse than it had ever been and the risk of people dying was higher than ever before. It was Amaya who snapped first, the sight of a child being taken hostage sending her right over the edge. She was the first to run forward, using her own primary nature to push the bandits back and save the child. When the same bandit started to come after her, it was Demiyah who put the arrow with a lightning seal through the heart of the bandit, detonating it so that it would affect more than just the one bandit.
It didn't take very long for the sisters to drive off the bandits, but in the wake of the attack, they had to deal with the citizens. The very citizens who condemned shinobi. Nami was quick to jump to the rescue, whisking the girls away as quickly as she could back to the farm, only after purposely setting fire to a few buildings in order for them to make their escape. The three of them packed their belongings as quickly as they could, taking only what they would need, and four of their farms horses, before escaping the village. At first they headed to the east, spending a long time in the Land of Life. Within the last year, the three of them ended up in the Land of Typhoons and instantly came across the village of Kaigangakure. They were quick to join the ranks of the villages' shinobi and have made their home there ever since.
