Akiyama, Tetsu sleep now, dream of the ones who came before you

Tetsu stands at five feet and ten inches tall, weighing in at a healthy 160lbs. His frame is tall and slender, with lean muscle that's particularly potent in his arms. Though he is by no means extremely muscular, and looks deceivingly weak. His hair is a bright red, and is slightly longer in the front. It is layered throughout, and tends to look messy in the back no matter what he does with it. Hidden under his bangs are a pair of equally bright red eyes. Depending on the lighting, they may seem a bit more red-brown, or even red with flecks of purple. Around his neck is a small, silver wire with a gray capsule dangling off of it. It's unknown what is inside of this capsule to anyone other than Tetsu and his teammates.
Tetsu's attire is fairly laid back and casual. And it's always something he can nap in comfortably. He's generally never caught without a comfy, basic white t-shirt that is often loose fitting and wrinkled, and dark wash pants. Over the top he wears a khaki coat that reaches his knees, and is a mixture between a trench coat and hoodie. It's incredibly comfortable and perfect for protecting him from the many sandstorms in Suna. His attire generally doesn't change between coming in and out of missions, other than the addition of pouches to carry supplies. Which, as a medic-nin, is quite a lot! |
A doting 'mother hen' or the nag his patients' never asked for, Tetsu has a big heart. He cares for everyone in Suna, much like his older cousin Demiyah, the Kazekage, and does his best to ensure that everyone is taken care of. Hence why he has taken on a more supportive role for his team. This way he can ensure everyone stays safe and healthy. But he doesn't stop there. Tetsu is always in a good mood, and those around him naturally smile and laugh along with him, no matter how stubborn they are. He's something like a cheerleader for his team, always motivating and encouraging them.
However, Tetsu, though not quite lazy, enjoys his sleep. The young man can be found lazing around in the sunlight of Sunagakure. He can take a nap just about anywhere and during any situation. Much to the dismay of his teammates. Perhaps it's because of this laid back nature that the neighborhood cats are drawn to him. Often using him as a bed or as someone to cuddle with. Earning him the moniker of 'Crazy Cat Lady Tetsu' alongside his title as the 'Mother Hen'. The names are quite feminine in nature, but he doesn't mind. He's also incredibly jumpy. Though this may be the fault of his family members, especially Demiyah. The Lady Kazekage just loves sneaking up on him, and it's only been made easier with the Akiyama's Swift Release. He always shrieks like a girl and ends up jumping a good ten feet in the air. One of these days, he's sure one of his family members will really scare him to death!
Despite his seemingly chaotic family relations, he loves them all dearly, and enjoys frequent visits to the Kazekage's residence when he isn't working at the Sunagakure Hospital. During his visits he enjoys a game or two of shogi, and he's quite good at it. Tetsu may not look or seem it, but he's incredibly smart. His abilities as a strategist are not far behind the Lady Kazekage's, and he constantly looks up to her as both his Kage and mentor. The only other lady in his life is his grandmother. And he'd kill a man without even blinking if it meant saving her.
Tetsu has only ever been caught angry by a handful of people. He can literally count the altercations on one hand. And if you asked any of them what he was like, they'd tell you he was terrifying. Never ruffle the mother hen's feathers. His hands can take a life just as easily as they can save one.

Tetsu never met the amazing woman who gave birth to him. Mayu Akiyama had been incredibly frail, and died giving birth to Tetsu. So he grew up living in his sweet Grandmother's home, alongside his father. His grandmother greatly enjoyed having company again, and especially to have men in the house again. Her husband had passed away from old age and poor health just a few years prior, and she eagerly brought Tetsu and his father into her home. It is likely because of his close relationship with his grandmother that Tetsu has taken on such traditionally female roles in recent years.
It was inevitable, of course, that Tetsu would enroll in the Shinobi Academy. He was constantly surrounded by the talented shinobi of the Akiyama line. And he was eager to join their ranks. Throughout his schooling, Tetsu easily absorbed the information, and would often tutor his classmates. His biggest shortcoming, however, was Bukijutsu. But his classmates were more than happy to return the favor when the time came. And soon enough, graduation had rolled around, and he was assigned to a team of Genin at the age of thirteen. It was around this time that his older cousin, Demiyah Akiyama, was appointed as Kazekage. This encouraged Tetsu to work even harder. He couldn't let her leave him behind!
However, Tetsu's path to this presumed glory was a very different one from his older cousin. He began pursuing a career as a medic-nin. Doing what little he could both on his Genin team, and volunteering at the Sunagakure hospital. Just before the Chunin Exams, his grandmother fell down a flight of stairs, fracturing several bones and putting her in a coma for two weeks. The day of the Chunin Exams rolled around, and Tetsu refused to leave his grandmother's side. He'd stay a Genin forever. Ranks didn't matter. But as fate would have it, his grandmother woke up that very morning. She wished him good luck before ordering the doctors to kick him out and not permit visitors until after the exams would finish.
And though it wasn't easy for a shinobi who focused primarily on medical ninjutsu to win, he did. Once the fight was over, he wasted no time rushing back to hospital to care for his grandmother. And she beamed with pride over his victory. Unfortunately, his other two teammates were unable to pass the exam. And Tetsu was later put in charge of two other Genin, forming Team Kazekage under Demiyah's specific request. | ooc info
