Ryuujin is one of the puppeteers of the prestigious Suoh clan of Iwagakure. Being one of the puppeteers his body is built to be both strong and yet very swift. He is a tall man with long blonde hair that he lets go when he's working in the clan complex but he prefers to keep it covered up with a thick wool beanie cap when outside. When inside the clan, he always can be seen wearing shorts and practically nothing else due to the scalding temperatures that they have adapted too. However, when outside of the complex he especially deals with the "cold" (the phenomenon of being in such high heat that their bodies are cold when in normal weather) so he always bundles up very heavily in thick full body coats and gloves, with combat pants on the outside of sweat pants and thick boots.
Because he is a puppeteer, he can often be seen with puppeteering gear on his person. Two large scrolls on his back hold his two puppets, known in the Suoh clan as "automatons" for the special metal they are made out of. These scrolls are heavier than normal sealing scrolls and as such the man's back muscles are especially defined, giving him a very strong posture that he is constantly exhibiting.
One thing about Ryuujin that a lot of people don't know is that he lost one of his fingers when he was a young child and had it replaced with a special Suoh prosthetic. However, he is unable to manipulate steel in the same way as other members in the Suoh clan in that his KKG allows him to manipulate the weight of metal instead of actually manipulate the metal itself, so he has to be extra careful not to break or lose his special finger.

Ryuujin as a child was known as "The Boastful Youth" because of his fine ability to craft the finest automatons in the entire clan and his love of telling people he could do so. His nickname however, was not created out of spite but out of admiration. Ryuujin was hailed as the youngest prodigy of the puppeteering branch of the clan and it was something that stuck with him all the way to the present day.
Ryuujin is a very appreciative man, although he can be extremely boastful he counters this with a deep fascination for the many beautiful things in life; arts, music, and literature. When on his off days in the clan he is often seen walking around with a book in one hand, or learning a new instrument in his house. Another thing that he appreciates more than anything is talent, he has been known to spend weeks working with particularly skilled craftsmen in the village just to learn a few things from his elders or impart some of his knowledge on the fledgling ninja in the village.
Ryuujin can be very aloof and dodgy, sometimes choosing to spend his time with his puppets more so than people. But he can turn this on and off as he pleases and when he is feeling social he loves to be "the life of the party" wherever he goes.
One of the most important personality traits of the man though is his lax nature. He is not a strict, severe, or careful (the only time when he demonstrates being careful is when working the forges, may the mighty heavens themselves forgive you if he catches you endangering yourselves or others while working the forges) man and he when the Tsuchikage calls together the ninja of the village, he's the one that sleeps in the back or reads during the heavy speeches. This is not to say he doesn't understand his duty, and as a matter of fact he is one of the most dutiful Jounin in the village, he just doesn't really react to heavy situations like most people do.
Another thing to mention is that he particularly complains of the "cold" when outside of the village, and is quite humorous to even the other Suoh clan members for the sheer amount of clothing he wears when outside of the complex.

When he was born, the moment he let out his first cry the loud clang of a hammer hitting the forge could be heard. A superstitious person claimed that the lords of the forges entered into the boy in that exact moment and that he was destined for greatness. He was named Ryuujin in honor of the legendary hero of the clan Ryuu Suoh, and as a child he began to demonstrate the greatness that he was born to show the entire clan, although his parents were not council members within the clan or not particularly fantastic shinobi. Their son was the complete opposite and showed tremendous talent. When he was at the age of four, his Steel Release kekkei genkai made itself known when he was playing in the clan and saw two men struggling to lift one of the automatons of the village. The boy walked over and asked if he could help, the men smiled and said he could certainly try. You can imagine their surprise when this four year old lifted the automaton off the ground and walked it over to where it was supposed to be.
It was not often heard of that puppeteer type Suoh clan members demonstrated their kekkei genkai at such a young age. Ryuujin was determined to be a prodigal child. Once he was at the age of eight, instead of being placed into the academy like most children he was instead placed under the tutorship of some of the finest puppeteers and blacksmiths in the village, learning the trade and the tricks needed to utilize the incredibly unique fighting style of the clan. It was a few months after this, that he underwent his Rite of Passage which is still talked about because at the age of eight he created an A-Class Steam Behemoth Automaton.
He never understood as such a young kid why everyone treated him so differently than other children, he didn't want things handed to him like they were. He liked working for things, it was around this time that he would meet his best friend. Riku Suoh. Riku was a bit older than he was, but they became inseparable, it was Riku that helped teach Ryuujin how to read and play instruments, and in return Ryuujin taught the boy how to work the forge with the "special secrets" he had created.
Ryuujin (although trained as a student in the clan) had to join the other children who had learned in the academy in order to go through his Genin exams. Having spent nine years under the ground his body had not adapted to the colder temperatures and he struggled with the shakes outside. Luckily, Riku had brought him a huge coat that he gave him with a huge smile, it was this moment between the two of them that would forever be remembered in Ryuujin's mind.
He passed his Genin exam with flying colors, and as a Genin he began to go on missions, working on his automatons on his spare time and spending time with Riku. He was promoted to Chunin at the age of twelve, and then Jounin at the age of fourteen. On one particular mission, upon his return. He was shocked to discover that Riku had gone missing, and that someone had stolen the legendary Suoh shinobi Ryuu's armor and had taken off from the village after slaughtering many good men and women.
Twelve years later, he had finally stopped looking for Riku and the tensions between the village and the clan were starting to escalate. As one of the most well known and strongest Jounin in the village, it was time for his to rise up and act.
What a bother. . .
