biography Seiren was born on August 29 to Ruka and Ryouta Tachibana. She was the first child of her parents, though two siblings would later be born. Because her parents were nineteen and twenty at the time of her birth - young enough to continue being active shinobi, despite their daughter's birth - she was raised primarily by her grandmother Suzume. Suzume was also the head botanist of the clan. Seiren often accompanied her on rounds at the clan store and the greenhouse. Her grandmother, who recognized the potential in the young girl, began to teach her about botany. It was then that Suzume introduced her granddaughter to a special flower: the statice. The statice was a symbol of remembrance, respect and reverence. Suzume taught Seiren to hold the values of the statice as her own. The eldest in the clan, especially Suzume, were still bitter over the loss of their parents in the Shinobi World War. Seiren was a highly intelligent child with a cheerful disposition. As time passed, she became close to all of her younger cousins and siblings, being the oldest child of her generation in the clan. Outside of the clan, she made quite a few friends due to the clan store - both shinobi-to-be and civilians. Her close relationship with Suzume and her frequency around the greenhouses made many predict that she would become a medical shinobi one day. They were not let down. Seiren entered the academy at age seven. Her academy years were relatively normal, but her carefree, social and unserious nature had her labeled as spoiled by many who believed her to be too unexposed to be a good shinobi. She passed her classes with little effort, but wasn't excited by any of the topics. She much preferred exploring and climbing the forest at the Clan Compound and playing with her relatives. Later on, she was placed on a genin team. Her team was highly average, but it was at this time that she began training in the clan's Hijutsu. The clan often waited until a later age to begin training, as chakra pathways did not fully develop until later on in a person's life. The Hijutsu was something that genuinely excited Seiren. It wasn't long before she had mastered control of many of her tenketsu points. By the time she was fourteen, she was deemed old enough to start experimenting with poisons. At this time she entered the Chuunin Exams. She made it to the final rounds in a breeze, her Hijutsu disabling teams before they could even strike. It was at the final portion of the exams that Seiren learned an important lesson. Before the exams, Seiren had been overly carefree and irresponsible but as she let out a powerful Dokugiri - a technique her grandmother had taught her, she not only caught her opponent in the mist but many spectators as well. With over twenty people rushed to the hospital, Seiren felt an overwhelming rush of guilt strike her. She had forgotten to think about the other people she affected with her techniques. She later learned that one of her close civilian friends, Ayami, had been caught in the mist as well. Seiren never stopped apologizing for forgetting her duty, as a ninja, to protect other people. Because of her irresponsibility, she was not promoted to chuunin. She felt as if she didn't deserve it anyway - she had been careless and foolish. The guilt weighed upon her further when she was sent to deliver a message to the Hokage. The Hokage at that time took one look at her dark purple hair and asked, "Aren't you that kunoichi who tried to kill half the spectators at the last chuunin exams?" She probably deserved it. A year passed and before she could take the chuunin exams once more, she was called in to the Mizukage's office. She was fifteen at the time and had developed notable skill with both medical ninjutsu and her clan Hijutsu. It was at this time that she was promoted to the ANBU under the name Amaki. Her clan was confused by this. They didn't like the Mizukage but this was a good way to keep tabs on the safety of the clan. To Seiren, this promotion had a much deeper effect. This was the period of her life that changed her the most. A teammate bleeds heavily under her glowing green palms as he coughs up blood. She pushes chakra in to the wound faster and faster, throwing caution to the wind in favor of desperation, but slowly his heart stops beating. Another teammate is lying under her palms, a gash in the head. She reassures her that it will be alright, but the words do not finish coming out of her mouth before the teammate slips away. These are people, she reminds herself every time. They have families and friends and people that they love. And I let them down every time I fail. She stopped making promises and gave up on reassurances. She didn't want to be a liar. She didn't want anybody to spend their last breath believing a lie.At age nineteen, she came across the Kusabanamitsu cliff. There, she formed a contract with a species of poisonous butterflies. These rare, toxic butterflies combined with her poisonous ninjutsu gave her the title Chougin no Yuudoku Seiren - Poisonous Seiren of the Silver Butterfly. At age twenty, she was promoted to Captain. On her fourth mission as captain, she began to doubt her leadership skills. On one hand, she was leading her team which included one of her close friends Mizuki. On the other hand, she had been sent to pursue a twenty-one year old nukenin, Yoshiko, another friend of hers who had abandoned the village impulsively after a disastrous mission during which her two siblings were killed. Seiren was too shocked to protest, something she regretted later on. As the mission progressed, Seiren felt more and more confused. On one hand, her friend had deserted and ninja paid the price for breaking the rules. On the other hand, she could sympathize completely with her friend and Yoshiko, despite recent events, was nothing other than a precious person to Seiren. However, the time came when Yoshiko was located. All too soon, conflict ensued. In the rush of battle between her team of three and Yoshiko, Seiren's lack of guidance and action caused major confusion. Yoshiko and Mizuki were both fatally wounded and the third member of the ANBU team was knocked out next to a tree trunk. Her healing hands reached out to the chest of Mizuki, then Yoshiko. Back and forth they went until the sound of heavy, hoarse breathing faded and the faint heartbeats that had pulsed under her hands disappeared. She returned to Kirigakure with two body bags. The Mizukage was quite confused. A jounin versus three ANBU members should not have resulted in any deaths, save for Yoshiko's. She had failed her friends, the law and herself. She was not removed from captain as it was overlooked when the Mizukage post switched. She has been captaining ever since, bringing successes to a new height with her determination. Since the incident with Yoshiko and Mizuki, she has learned how to forgive herself. She has cast beside the depression that seized her so fiercely after that mission and learned to forgive but never forget. | ooc info ☆ NAME Lana ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS Kotone Namino ☆ FACE CLAIM highschool of the dead saeko busujima, seiren tachibana THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO lana.
