biography When a Mori is born, he or she is placed on the shrine so that they may be offered to the forest protectors, if they are excepted they are given two great gifts. A tattoo of a bird on their chest and the ability to control the trees themselves in their bodies. Ryota was such a child, however when the spirits marked him his tattoo was a deep blue color instead of the common black. This anomaly had never happened before and no one was able to explain it. However, it did not matter in the end because he had been accepted and as such was one of the family members that would grow up to protect the forests. As a young boy his eyes were truly filled with the wonder and fascination of a true child of nature. When he was six years old his ability to use the Wood Release first appeared after he created a small tree out of the ground for him and the other children to play on, although he was a few years ahead of the other children in this regard his skill with it progressed just as slowly as the other children. When he was eight years old he was put into the shinobi academy in order to begin his instruction. As a young child he progressed the same as all the other children, however when he hit the age of ten it was as if his shinobi abilities hit a "spurt" and he started to demonstrate a few things that were beyond his peers. The first thing was that his abilities with his bloodline started to become much more profound for his age, another thing was his ability in hand-to-hand combat, becoming much faster, stronger, and more skilled than the other children. It wasn't enough to be prodigal, but it was enough that he was watched closely by the instructors. When he graduated at the age of twelve he was placed into a small group of specially selected students for specialized training before being sent to the Chuunin exams, in the critical state of Konoha it was important that as many of their shinobi become Chuunin as possible, so they would select the specially talented ones and make them even more talented. Under the tutelage of Tokubetsu Jounin his Ninjutsu and Taijutsu skills became more prominent and it was also where he met someone who would become one of his team-mates. Suzune something or other (he could never remember her last name). When the Chuunin exams rolled around, they were placed into a squad with another Genin who had graduated in their class but hadn't received the special training and a Jounin sensei who was called the "Hawk Sage" for his jutsu style using hawks. The three Genin were given two more weeks to become friends and adapt to each other's abilities and then before they knew it poof it was time for the exams. During the exams (that were hosted in Kirigakure that time around) Suzune and Ryota managed to make it all the way to the final round, however it was Ryota who would be victorious for his leader spirit and ability with jutsu. As he and his team left Kirigakure he promised them that their time was coming and he would help them every step of the way. Little did he know of the tragedy that awaited him. . . With his Chuunin vest and new credentials he ran through the forest and made his way to the shrine, what waited for him there was pure horror. The story was that a former Konoha Jounin known as Ryu the "Phoenix" had stolen village secrets and fled, when he came across the Mori family in the forest, he was pressed back up against a corner and used his new stolen jutsu which was capable of killing and mutilating every single member of his family. As the boy walked around the bodies, further mutilated by the shroud of tears in his eyes he fell to his knees and let out a yell that seemed to shake the very forest. He was never the same after that, for a few months he and his team continued to go on missions, but tragedy always seemed to follow those who knew it first hand, and during one B-Rank mission Suzune and Ryota were separated from their sensei and other team-mate. Surrounded by enemies they made a promise to keep each other safe no matter what happened, a promise that would last for the rest of their lives. It was during this that Ryota lost control to his paranoia and almost massacred the entire group if it wasn't for Suzune stopping him. When they returned from the mission, it was found that the sensei and the other Genin had been extremely injured during the mission and would never be allowed to be shinobi ever again, this only strengthened the unusual bond between Suzune and Ryota who continued to train while they waited for a new sensei and team-mate.
