MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | They had only just left the village earlier in the day and Ryoko already had a bad feeling about this summit. It wasn't because he would be in a room full of Kage he had never met. They may have more experience then him, but Ryoko did have the advantage of being independently tutored by the Leaf's former leader. It also wasn't because the discussion of the chuunin exams promised to be a hot topic, as each village vied for more representation than one another. Nor was it the possiblity of him making a complete fool of himself in his first official summit. No, it wasn't any of these things. It was his guards, a trickster and a wolf. Could Hara Kin contain her desire to prank the highest ranking shinobi from the most important villages? And if not, was Ryoko willing to die to stand up for her? Would Getsu be able to keep from biting someone if the discussions became to heated? Ryoko was a little more confident in this, but a shinobi wolf was still a wolf, no matter how you looked at it.
There was no point in worrying about it now though. The decisions to bring them had been made and he knew that if things got serious and he needed back up that these were possibly the two most reliable companions he had in the village. This thought was almost immediately reinforced by Getsu picking up his stride and matching Ryoko's pace, staggered behind him by only about a foot. It was these kinds of journeys that Ryoko had trouble with when on a team of humans. When he wasn't speaking in an official capacity he had trouble coming up with anything to say. Things like 'hows the weather' just seemed inappropriate when they were with each other and Ryoko really didn't know enough about Hara to engage in personal gibber jabber.
"Do you have any thoughts on the proposed topics for the summit?" It was true that Ryoko wanted to know his subordinates thoughts on the matter, as she was bound to have picked up more than him, having been around these higher ups for a longer period of time. Though really, Ryoko was just trying to break the awkward silence without goading Hara into prank mode. |

Even though the journey had barely begun, the white-haired leader was right to have his worries about the trickster’s intentions. Hara, sneaking few steps behind the wolf, carried a large back bag packed absolutely full of... something. It was only food, nothing more, she had assured to everyone who had asked. Well, she wasn’t lying entirely. Just a small peek inside was enough to reveal a pile of delicious snacks, everything from bento to dry meat and even candy. Something for everyone, certainly. The Kitsune had taken it up to herself to make sure their little team didn’t go hungry during the trip. Even she could be thoughtful sometimes. At least that was her alibi.
Beneath the edible goodness was actually a hidden arsenal of gags and tricks. She had brought superglue, various paints and enough special substances to spice the meals of a small nation. To top it all off, her mind was simply bubbling with all sorts of devious plans. The most important people of the entire Shinobi world were going to gather together and there was no way she would miss this rare chance to prank every single one of them. Not even Ryoko would be able to change her mind on that. While the previous Hokage had always known exactly what to say to make her stand down, this young man didn’t have that talent with words.
Speaking of which...
Hara was just a heartbeat away from breaking the awkward silence herself when Ryoko spoke up. She stuck out her tongue and quietly gagged at the topic. "Bleh, politics..." The opinions of dusty, old leaders had never interested her. However, since any kind of chat was better than silence, she opted to swallow her dislike and actually answer. "Hrm, well, you are in for tough negotiations, Boss. I happen to know the new Kazekage is unbelievably stubborn and blunt. Oh and the Mizukage might seem nice, but he is either really lucky or much craftier than he lets on. I haven’t decided which is more accurate. Hm, maybe bit of both..."
With swift steps, the Kitsune passed the wolf and caught up to the Hokage before continuing. "As far as the Chuunin Exams go... Yeah, that’s gonna be a bit bigger headache. It might take a while before those can get under way actually." While she was fairly sure the Hokage kept up with current events, a refresher never hurt anyone. It brought them to the same page at least. "You probably know already, but there haven’t been that many fresh Genin graduating lately. Anywhere." She didn’t actually know the reason behind that, not that she cared either. People flunked the Academy all the time. It wasn’t anything unusual.
After another brief pause, Hara’s tone turned darker as she pondered a bit rarer piece of information. "And then there is this funniest rumor going around... Something about suddenly increased Missing Nin activity... They even say someone kidnapped and brainwashed a young girl, though I’m not sure if I’ll believe that." As with all rumors, some details might’ve been just made up as adult versions of bogeyman stories. She glanced at the boy and shrugged, regaining her usual, carefree tone. "Still, it might be a pretty big security threat and you know how the old goats-erm, village elders feel about those." Needless to say, Hara did not think very highly of the village elders. Of any village really.

MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | Out of the corner of his eye he caught her sticking her tongue out at the very mention of the summit. It was at this moment that he began to really worry; It was clear if she wasn't coming for the exhilarating conversation that was to take place at the summit, her eagerness to help him with this stemmed from nothing but the potential to put her mischievous mind to work. He made a quick mental note to tell his canine that Hara was fair game should he need to kill her to keep the peace.
Despite her unwillingness to talk about the topic, she did bring up some very valid points. Ryoko flinched a little bit at the mention of missing nin. Several of the missing nin that they knew about came from his village, including the deadly Umashi, currently A-Ranked in his villages Bingo Book. She was right though. This coupled with the fact that the amount of genin currently working in each village was well below average might prompt them to make changes to the upcoming exam or cancel it entirely. The possibility of other challenges during the summit existed as well.
"I'm not sure if you were aware but I recently met with the Lady Raikage." He paused to find the most appropriate words to describe her to Hara. "She...well she has a short fuse. And it is quite apparent that she doesn't like me. If anything is to go wrong for us it'll probably stem from her, if first impressions were honest." The warning was basically permission for Hara to keep a close eye on her. Ryoko was confident in his abilities, but he'd yet to meet the other Kage in person and would much prefer to flee a potential fight under the guise of one of Hara's genjutsu than engage in open conflict.
As he finished his thought he looked up towards the sun. While his village was one of the closest to the meeting point, he didn't want to be the last one there. He glanced over his shoulder towards his companions and motioned for them to pick up their pace. At this rate it shouldn't take them any more than a day to reach their destination.

Hara tilted her head at the Hokage’s response. Ah, right, Boss had been traveling too. Now the Kitsune was bit disappointed she hadn’t been around to see it, but maybe there would be a chance to see those sparks fly in the summit. Politics were boring but drama was funny. "Don’t worry, Boss. I’ll give that lightning lady something else to think about." Aaand everyone else, while she was at it. The trickster had enough tricks for everyone. Seriously. She packed a huge arsenal. Even the wolf would get one sooner or later, depending on how quickly the adorable, but uppity fur ball tried to get between her and the fun.
At the same time, the playful prankster was feverishly putting together new plans. Not for pranks but for back up, in case things got heated. She couldn’t allow her dear Hokage to get hurt, now could she? Still, people there would be the best of the best... She didn’t worry, however. Even a roomful of Kage would have a pause before her genjutsu arsenal, so confident she was in her skills. In fact, the mere thought sparked a nice little combination that would surely stop violence on the spot... "Hey, Boss, just remember that you’re not alone there. I’ve got your back~" She chimed reassuringly, quite pleased with herself.
When the Hokage picked up the pace, the bodyguard followed the suit without hesitation. Sure, it wasn’t exactly a long way there, but she wanted a chance to scout the place before it was full of foreign ninja. While her kekkei genkai made scouting much easier, going in unprepared had been the end for many pranksters. Oh, and ninja too.
((Sure, we can end it here. ^_^))
