HOPE IS JUST A RAY OF WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD SEE ❝ It was a beautiful summer day in August, and Keiko couldn't have been in a better place. Walking through the aisles of Konohagakure's Flower Shop, she set to tending to the fragile flowers her grandmother had entrusted to her. The urge to frown left her suddenly energized, and she pushed through the twinge of sadness with an even brighter smile. No crying. She reminded herself as she watered a chrysanthemum. The bright flower reminding her to keep the cheery tone she was known for. "Chiyo!" she laughed as the blue-green hummingbird flew around her, tickling her ear with her bill as a sign of affection before landing on her head. The little bird stuck out like a sore thumb against Keiko's pink hair. "Good afternoon, Keiko." a woman's voice, mature but not quite old called out over the bell on the door. "Good afternoon!" she called back, standing upright and walking back towards the front of the store. She recognized the woman as Miyako Oda, a frequent customer of Keiko's who especially loved Chrysanthemums. They were never for anyone in particular, at least, that's what she assumed. Miyako came in every Saturday for two bouquets of Chrysanthemums that were ready to be transferred to a vase. "I'll be just a moment." she said, setting her watering can down on the counter before heading to the back to retrieve the bouquets she'd prepared this morning. "Here you are!" she chirped from the darkness of the back room, eventually coming forward with the two bouquets and setting them on the counter. "Thank you, dear. The flowers grow so happily in your care." she commented, causing Keiko to blush ever so lightly from the compliment. "Will you be attending the festival next weekend?" the woman asked as she handed over the correct amount of ryo for her flowers. "Of course!" Keiko nodded, taking the ryo and completing the transaction before waving the woman off. "Now for the tiger lily's!" she nodded, refilling her watering can before heading over to the bright orange flowers. They always reminded of her of two orange-haired boys. And at the thought, she smiled rather fondly towards the tiger lily's. ooc: Tsukiya TsubasaMADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

The day had been long, and he just wanted it to be over. Not to mention the heat, he didn't mind it besides it was nothing compared to Sunagakure. Tsukiya was stationed there a couple months ago and, it was awful. But he did get to try several different kinds of food that, he wouldn't have gotten in Konoha. If given the chance to go back, he would take it in a heart beat. Though, that was about all, he really enjoyed about Sunagakure. It really didn't, measure up beautiful scenery like beyond the gates of Konoha had to offer.
After all, the fighting , re conning, and running he was wore out. Tsukiya thought after all, the other times that it he accidentally gave away there position. They would stop giving him recon assignments. He would never complain about it after all, he needed to work his way up the ladder. Finally his team arrived back into Konoha and, he decided that it was in the best interest to go visit Keiko. That would have to wait for now, he still needed to give his mission report.
Once he had taken care of business, he was now en route to her flower shop. Scratching at his, head as he walked through the streets. His eyes catching the beautiful blue sky, "I might as well make my self useful." He grumbled, having only a couple of hours til he had to make it home in order to fix dinner. Normally, he would just buy take out and say screw it. But he has grown accustomed to kicking dinner for Jiyuu, his father, and sometimes Daisuke. He knew that his cooking wasn't as extravagant as his mother's, but he tired. His hand reaching out to grasp a hold of the handle. Pushing it open and stepping through, "Well if it isn't my favorite florist." He stated, as he unbuttoned his vest. Walking over and leaning on the counter, his wrist bandaged up from earlier today.

HOPE IS JUST A RAY OF WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD SEE ❝ "Well if it isn't my favorite florist." The familiar voice rang over the bell of the door. It was tired and rough, but still every bit as warm as she remembered. Giving the tiger lily's one last dash of water, she smiled at them as though they were fully capable of registering her happiness. He had perfect timing. This man who was every bit as bright and orange as the tiger lily's she'd just watered. Heading towards the counter, she put the watering can down, her gaze immediately traveling to the wound on his wrist. Her lips drew into a frown, and without asking she took his wrist with gentle hands to examine it herself. She was no medical ninja, but at the very least, she'd see if he'd bandaged it himself or actually received proper first aid. "How was your mission?" she asked, satisfied with how his wrist was bandaged and releasing his hand. Chiyo eagerly flew over head, flying around Tsukiya before nesting in his bright orange locks. The hummingbird had grown rather fond of him, what with his frequent visits to her flower shop. Removing the apron that had been protecting her simple, white dress from the dirt and pollen of the shop, she neatly folded it before placing it in a cubby on her side of the counter. Compared to his rugged, worn appearance, she looked nothing like a kunoichi. And something about that bugged her. Not that she enjoyed returning with cuts and bruises, but, at least she'd have something to show for it. "It's been a while since we've been on a mission together." she thought aloud, "Perhaps I'll ask Hokage-sama for a mission. I can't play in the garden everyday." she laughed, looking around at the shop. MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

His dark crimson eyes watched her carefully, as she continued to water the ever so bright tiger lily's. "They seem new or maybe I just don't remember" He said, his voice having a bit of a roughness to it. Though he did enjoy how the tiger lily's were a similar color to his hair. His eyes following her to the counter where, his gaze met he hands on his wrist. A sigh of air escaping from his lips, "It's just a burn one of them had Katon." He stated, looking up into her eyes implying the rest of the story. Knowing that, he would receive an ear full if the bandage wasn't wrapped properly, "I wrapped it well enough" He pointed out, even though forgetting to put some burn ointment on the wound. Having probably gave her to much information, but he already knew she would find out eventually.
After hearing the pink-haired kunoichis question, "It was fine at first just a normal reconnaissance mission." He replied, "Then one of there own returned after scouting spotted us. ". He stated, his eyes looking back up into hers "So naturally I had to make sure we neutralized the enemy, and got out alive." He divulged, though his voice held a sort of sadness to it. It had partially to do with him, but mostly due to the simple fact he was a giant beacon for sensory shinobi's. Also for the simple fact that he felt his leadership skills sometimes faltered. His hand running through his hair, before Chiyo finally rested in his hair. A smile crossing his features, his hand lifting into to air, a single finger held up for Chiyo to perch on.
"Yeah, or next time I am allowed to pick my own squad I will pick you." He spoke, though there was something behind those words. He didn't want to risk the chance of bringing Keiko along only for her to get injured or worse. It wouldn't be an issue if half the missons he received didn't involve combat. In a sense saying caring for her safety, but shouldn't all friends. "C'mon it can't be that bad." He spoke with a grin on his face. | Notes: another shit post from vex Tags: Keiko HanaWords: |

HOPE IS JUST A RAY OF WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD SEE ❝ At the word 'burn' her brows furrowed and her lips pursed in clear dislike of the word. Despite her firm belief in the Will of Fire, Keiko greatly disliked the element of fire. The flames could never tell friend from foe, and they could only ever destroy. Besides, it only seemed fitting that a florist disliked fire. Flowers and fire never mixed well. Retrieving his wrist with a light grip, she used her free hand to grab a pouch from behind the counter that contained first aid supplies. "Geez," she breathed, gently unwrapping the bandages on his wrist. "Your chakra is visible even to a newborn baby!" she said, pulling off the bandages he'd wrapped around the wound. This certainly hadn't been the first time his 'loud' chakra had given away his position, and unfortunately, it likely wouldn't be the last. Even as she looked at him now, without using any sensory techniques, she could feel his chakra radiating like a wildfire unleashed upon a forest. Untamed and wild as it combed through the area around him. "You still haven't found a way to suppress it?" she frowned, popping the cap off a tube of burn ointment. "This may sting a bit." she warned softly before applying a small dollop of the ointment to his wound. Unraveling a fresh set of bandages, she took her time, slowly and carefully wrapping his wound. She lacked more advanced medical knowledge, but at the very least she could give him adequate first aid. Once she'd finished wrapping his wrist, she brought his wrist to her lips, gently kissing it like a mother would kiss their child's 'owie'. "There," she laughed, releasing his wrist so that she could put away her supplies. "Make sure you get it checked at the hospital." she said in a mock stern tone, smiling as Tsukiya interacted with Chiyo. "It's not bad, necessarily. But what was the point in becoming a kunoichi if I was just going to spend all of my time running this shop? I'll never get any better like this." she said, her hand clenching into a fist. She'd never make ANBU like this. Though she wasn't exactly confident she'd make it with her current set of abilities, regardless. She still relied far too heavily on her genjutsu techniques and long-ranged attacks. "Besides," she said, perking back up. "Someone's got to watch you!" she laughed, nudging him playfully. That look that crossed her features, he knew right away what she was thinking. Knowing her distaste for fire, due to its general destructive nature. To be honest, he didn't blame her for it either. He did dislike it as well, more so the elemental nature used by Konoha's shinobi. But it seemed he always managed to get burnt or hit by a giant fireball. Plus it was most common among most villagers except for him and a collective few. Maybe it made himself special, he really didn't know if he ever felt that special among his clan.
His dark crimson eyes followed her hand to her supplies. "You know I'll be fine right?" He asked, his eyes now tracing back up to hers. Keiko was one of the persons who always helped bandaged him up on missions. Especially when he couldn't even do it himself, and well he knew that she was just helping him out, trying to make sure his injuries don't get serious. Or was there more to it that made him think different. It was the things like this that made, him question what his relationship was with Keiko. Watching her take his wrist, knowing already where she was going with this.
Though he never minded at all, better her then any doctors. One thing he hated was hospitals, the smell, just the environment of it all made him cringe when he has to go. A grin crossing his features in response to her joke. "Probably." Is all that came from his mouth as his eyes now followed the burn cream she was preparing to use. "It's a work in progress, me and my dad are working on it." He said in response to her, as her hands wiped it onto his wound. His brow raising at the kiss on his wrist. "Well at least I have you to count on, if I ever need patching up." He stated, looking around the shop, and well he is not used to it looking so empty. "Yeah, well you should know by now that won't happen." His tone serious, nope he wouldn't step into a hospital if he absolutely needed to.
He knew she wanted more action, and if she ever wanted in he would always allow it. Only if the mission at hand was dangerous that, he was even worried. Would he be worried with her tagging along. "I know, I do but look I will come to you next time." He stated, his eyes showing promise. Definitely seeing that determination in her eyes, one thing he liked about Keiko. She knew what she wanted, and well they shared a similar dream. To work up the chain and become part of the ANBU Black Ops, "Hah, really?" He spoke with a smile on his face.

HOPE IS JUST A RAY OF WHAT EVERYONE SHOULD SEE ❝ "I'd help you if I could, but I'm used to pushing my chakra out, not back in." she said in reference to her kekkai genkai. Though she'd never had a problem with being spotted on recon. Her chakra pool was larger than most, but still not nearly as large as Tsukiya's. And his chakra had a sort of loud temperament to it that demanded attention. It made his life a lot harder, and that worried her. Despite his strength, he always came home with injuries. How am I supposed to protect him if I'm not there? She frowned at the thought, but her smile quickly returned at his promise to invite her on further missions. "Ah~" she hummed, the word coming out in a soft sigh. "I've probably grown rusty! After all, tending to flowers don't keep you on your toes." she laughed, making a mental note to make time to train. Just as she couldn't protect Tsuki if she wasn't there, she couldn't protect him if she was weak either. She'd just end up being a liability. Just like she had when they were Genin. Her fist tightened at the thought, her free hand moving to rest on her hip, pressing down on the scar that was hidden by her clothing. Quickly reverting back to her cheery demeanor, she looked back up at Tsuki. "Yes, really~" she stuck out her tongue, grabbing his hand and the keys to the shop, dragging him towards the door and outside. Locking up the shop, she slipped the keys into a small bag she'd brought along. "How does food sound?" she asked, running through a list of restaurants and food stands. Of course, a home cooked meal was an option as well. Her Grandmother had taught Keiko many of her family recipes. But her grandmother wasn't here anymore, and going home or even to work was a constant reminder of that. "N-Not that this is a d-date or anything!" she corrected herself as the thought slipped into her mind. Her cheeks grew warm and she immediately turned away from him to hide the flush of crimson on her cheeks. Both of her hands cupped her face, willing the color and embarrassment to fade. ooc: sorry for the wait! MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS
