Mission info: Got What it Takes...?If it wasn't because of the occasional chilly breeze Jena would have suffocated in the disgusting humidity of the Oto no Kuni. Out of all days to travel an extensive amount of distance by foot, not to mention the ever-changing terrain and the necessity to remain hidden and unnoticed, just then was she requested to embark on this journey to this new and yet growing land. Her body had trudged through the dirt soil, disguised by the dull grey cloak which ends fluttered in synch with the slapping wind. It did not last for long, and soon the heat took over. She swore that if it wasn't because of the scouting neutral Shinobi that lurked around, she would have ripped the cloak off her and swat her hand near her face to gather fake wind.
Yet no, she just couldn't. The girl side-glanced at the small hill's edge, where she was climbing to reach Otogakure. Surrounding her were countless rice fields, many of which were not being currently used by the scarce population. The scenery, a blend of vivid green, bright brown and shimmering transparency of the water. Although magnificent, created a sense of unfamiliarity inside her soul. Many of the Great Countries were shunning this growing one, play pretending that it was yet in its developing stage and required of more time to grow like them. Psh, how ridiculous. Now, gazing around at the land, she could see splotches of potential that could be beneficial to their surge. They had the land, but she need to see the ninja that made up the Village.
Speaking about that, Jena remembered with a jolt. She was beckoned here by the word of some head ninja that controlled the people with an eagle eye. They had requested a tad of aid with a somewhat troublesome Taijutsu-skilled Shinobi, and they had provided her hints of his appearance and his obvious whereabouts. With the words they've used, it was as if he went and came as he pleased, attempting to cause havoc among the social ranks and picking up fights out of the blue. They weren't going to be an organised and fearful Country with such a brainless man dragging about. Because of Oto no Kuni's abysmal separation from the other lands, Jena was willing to lend a hand. Not to mention that the little new technique the Otogakure ninja would teach her sure persuaded her to go see what seemed so bad. And she needed a time-out of all that running and spying business.
Later during the trek her feet halted, and Jena narrowed her eyes. Beyond a few more fields rised a structure that was partly hidden by quite the tree. Without a doubt, that was Otogakure. A few shadows departed from the gates, hurrying to leave to whatever their task was. Some walked plainly inside, two or three of the figures accompanied by other shadowy bodies. The distance blurred most of the details, but the Missing-Nin was glad to have finally neared upon the Village. Only by journeying for the rest of the day would she be able to safely enter Otogakure, and with that thought of, the girl started her path once more, quickening her pace.
"Let's see what this 'Hammer' guy is all about..."To be continued...

Relentless eyes rested upon the female figure partially hid by the dull grey cloak. Many of the Shinobi there were cloaked, as well, disguised with escalating hues of grey and black. A lot, if not all, of the gathered and dragging ninja had dark hairs and dropped eyes, expulsing an aura of danger and uncertainty. They were those sort of people that should not be messed with. Jena made a mental note of that. Her feet cracking the fragile dirt crust, the Missing-Nin kept wary of the Village, minding her way and planning her directions before-hand. She did not want to tangle in any unneeded fuss, let alone screw up a possibility of making future deals with the men here. She knew what had to be done in order to gain an acceptable reputation, especially now that she was to fend by her own. Perhaps she was just being used as a puppet of the kind, but she did not absolutely let that take a spotlight in her thoughts. She had to concentrate on the job, and nothing more.
The sharp magenta eyes thoroughly scanned and analysed. Jena wanted to take in as much detail of the growing Village as she could, perhaps for further evaluation. The ninjas did possess an intimidating image, mirrored with the narrowing, menacing eyes and their slightly curved posture. The few women that ventured through the streets had nice aspect, with pretty faces but with lips sealed. Their monotonous eyes were hammered to the ground, and their shoes made hasty and brisk movements. Despite this, the sky was clear and vegetation coiled itself through the walls. The always-glowing sun gave the terrain a suspicious gleam that was weird enough to be beautiful. Bizarre, really. The girl was truly distracted, so the loud boom that shattered Otogakure's hustle and bustle caused her to jump in reflex. With that she stopped walking any further, her eyes widened like all of the others did. They attempted to trace the source, but the sound fleeted away quickly.
The male body of a Sound Shinobi flew through an alley's mouth, clashing with the ground and rolling through it. Dust followed his way, and the movement in which he was deployed on the street seemed as if he was flung without much trouble. Some gasped, other fled from the scene. Jena couldn't really explain what had happened, standing there silently. No one approached the man that was now struggling to get on his knees, coughing up a great deal of blood that splattered the brownish floor. Surging from the darkened hole of the alleyway came a man of great height, burly build, wide shoulders and muscly arms. His small round eyes were slitted in glee, scarred lips twitched in a demonic smirk. He stomped through the stricken people, his irises glaring at the tormented man. With a strong hand that looked suited to crush a kunai, he clutched the dirty hair of the victim and lifted him into the air as if he were weightless. He held the hurt man at eye level, mocking his strained face muscles with a spit. "I told you about the scroll, Hishi," the monstrous man growled in a baritone voice.
The Sound Shinobi trembled, not only by agony, but fear. Jena had slyly made it past some of the Otogakure ninja with expert stealth, and was witnessing the horrendous scene. Could that be-? The description the message had contained matched the brute perfectly. Not to mention that the only method he could have used to send the young Shinobi flying like a pebble was through the usage of hard-trained Taijutsu. The mark of a shoe was engraved on the dusty flak jacket, now that she saw closely. "H-Hammer, I-" The man supposedly named Hishi stuttered, swallowing hard. Jena had to pay close attention, otherwise she would only catch unintelligible gibberish. "The Forbidden Jutsu is b-banned from Otogakure! The s-s-scroll is under close g-guard and I don't have acc-" "Oh, really?" Hammer broke in, chuckling, shaking his head. "You had the scroll in your hands, and you gave it away to those idiotic authorities. I'll gather all of the Forbidden Jutsu. Nothing can stop me."
Not wasting more breath, Hammer lunged the male body with a swift thrust of his arm. The ninja hit a nearby wall that cracked with the force, and let out an echoing thud. The blow had knocked out the soul off the body, that limped on the dirt floor and breathed no more. Jena stared at the corpse, a serious expression taking over her foreign complexion. The strength the brute had... Not only was he trained on the arts of Taijutsu, but with the ridiculous shaping of muscles and bones. No wonder why they had given word to her to come as quickly as she could. Her sight now trailing off to Hammer, she took a moment to examine his movements, how he posed victoriously and how he grinned as if he was Shinobi number one in the world. If he was actually out in search of Forbidden Jutsus, then the man had to be considered a menace to the Country. Hey, he could even just go wherever he went killing off people like this and learning prohibited tactics.
It's not as if the Missing-Nin could do anything with the dead Otogakure ninja. Who knows, perhaps there had been others like him, mercilessly murdered for showcase. It would have been obvious by now that no one was courageous enough to step against the brute, let alone engage in battle. The head ninja could be scurrying in hiding, and the guards scrambling away for their pitiful lives. Well, she had to give them that. Hammer was definitely going to be an issue. She was a long-range Shinobi, and he, surely, a close-range combatant. The katana strapped to her back would be of no practical use, and even had the risk of breaking at his grasp. Her Taijutsu wasn't polished enough to bare the burden of his power. What to do, what to do... Jena raised her head from her former pondering position, recognising the bulky figure of Hammer nonchalantly storming through the main street, Shinobi parting ways for his tremendous build. He had the muscle alright, but... what about the brains?
Jena knew what had to be done.To be continued...

As a shadow in the darkness, the magenta-eyed Missing-Nin rapidly scurried through the rice fields surrounding Otogakure, her eyes tracing down her designated prey. Like a predator, she fell flat on the ground without producing a loud echo, and kept leaping through the terrain. Her cloak messily flipped and swayed with each fast step, the front bursting open and partially revealing her inner garments. She decided to stay by the borders of the cultivation areas, aiming to remain unnoticed by the gruff and towering man that trudged through the barren path in the center. She glared, eyes narrowed like a feline in hunting pose. In a second, Jena dug her feet within the ground, staying still and immobile, crouched behind an array of shrubbery. The brute had halted, his hands finding support at his hips and examining the landscape before him. His shoulders lifted quickly and descended, a sign of him gathering a mouthful of oxygen for his needy lungs.
No weapons upon him, she noted. He must rely heavily on those accentuated and toned muscles, which is why she ought to keep favourable distance if she did not want to end up like powder. She considered that her own build was of no match to stand up to even one swatting of his hand. Why, the bony and meaty extremity would crack her skull apart without any limitation. Having to repair broken bones wasn't on her plans for the day. Could she attack with her trustworthy Ninjutsu? What about Genjutsu? The Otogakure Shinobi could be weak of mind, and so vulnerable to the latter of the two. Tactics were all so hard to plan properly with so little time. For as long as the girl desired to keep studying on the ninja, she came to the conclusion that she should delay no longer.
Bending her knees lower, Jena gave a bounce out of the bushes, leaves rustling at the wind force released from the impulse. She calculated the jump in anticipation, landing some feet away from the back of the male. She had recognised him flinch with the rustling of the little leaves, and in silence she let the seconds sink in. "Oi, Hammer guy," she yelled forth, voice firm and beckoning. The male Shinobi with intimidating build hesitated for a moment, perhaps puzzled as to how anyone dared address him directly. Then, he shifted his shoulders and spine to turn, his square face and tiny eyes staring at the much smaller body of the Missing. "And I wonder why a pretty face like you is wondering about these lands," Hammer growled then, a smirk playing along the tone. "Those eyes tell me you must be that missy Hoshikuzu who has come to force me into submission."
So much for hiding about like a rat.
Jena bit the corner of her lips from the inside, her hands mirrored the same position Hammer's were as, placed upon her curved hips. Why had she even bothered... She should have expected it, although her being an unwelcomed and surprising mystery would have been more favourable. How much more did he learn of her? From whom did he learn? Making a completely unrelated entrance, a gush of chilly wind brushed through the fields, bumping into the two solitary figures. The girl's jet-black hair let the breeze toy with it, the locks following in synch with wave-like movements. Her eyes locked on the mocking grin of the bulky man, she resisted the urge to retrieve Yuugure and slice his coarse throat in half. Unfortunately, she was only ordered to return him alive and with no wishes to continue shattering the peace of Otogakure. What a pity.
"They have to be dumber than I thought," Hammer snickered, spitting half-way through. "They had to send a girl, hadn't they? You runt." "If I were you I'd keep your tongue silenced," the Missing-Nin snapped back. "Next thing you know your tongue won't be in the same place."
The wind ceased, and so did the tension of the situation. How much she desired to rip the skin off and dig the blade within. The brute was not only stupid, but loud. Great, wonderful combo. Well at least the Sound ninja would have one dumb-head less to care of. The male Shinobi now accommodated himself to be more comfortable, his huge body facing hers. What a smug face he possessed, and it infuriated Jena to even lay a glance upon it. On the contrary, this motivated her to end the mission as soon as possible. "Heh, let me see your hand," the brute said, holding his left hand forward and openly. Jena sensed this churning wish to slice it off, yet silenced it. "The cursed hand, mind you. The symbol of your destiny and demise." "Do you speak crap as often as this?" The female Shinobi blurted, her eyes narrowing hazardously. "I honestly do not have time for this. Kneel down and surrender, it'll be the best offer I give." "Hahaha, don't make me laugh!" Hammer roughly snarled, irises glimmering in contempt. "It is you who should be fleeing. The wolf has foolishly fallen for the powerful bear's ruse."
At this point it seemed comical, a joke even. The Missing was up to her neck with his nonsense. "If so you wish to fight me," Hammer continued. "I will not stop you."
"I cannot say no to such lovely proposal," Jena shrugged, separating her feet and hands from their formal places. She adapted a challenging posture, her heart beating fast and adrenaline rushing through her veins. "Come at me, brute."To be continued...

Jena should've seen it coming.
The instant she pronounced the insult Hammer launched his heavy body into the air, a leg stretched forward and aiming a smashing blow to her head. Fate was by her side on that turn, as she shifted her feet and glided to her left, missing the flying leg by mere distance. The attack hit the ground instead, making tiny rocks blast into the sky and the soil crack open because of the force. She could feel the wisps of wind that accompanied the rapid move and heard the tough thump of the hit, and a ball of ice lodged in her stomach as she landed. How was a brute such as that able to move so quickly?! The Otogakure ninja repositioned himself, standing erect and studying the indent on the golden floor. He did not let Jena hesitate any second longer, as he rushed to her with quick feet and an arm pulled backward. Are you kidding?
With a Shunshin no Jutsu, the Missing-Nin managed to evade the gruff arm that slashed the air with ferocious strength. She paced in a blink of an eye behind him, watching his incredible ability to sequence attack after attack faster than usual. He just delivered his hit, stood up and went straight for the kill once more. Again she was countered with a swing of his arm, and the chakra concentration was so intense she could even hear it hiss through his veins. This time the move caught her by surprise, and Hammer sent the tinier girl blasted through the clearing. She ended up by the border of the hill, her cloak dirtied and partly open. She swore that if he had stained the claws on her jacket she would cut his eyes out. Kneeling to analyse her clothes, by the corner of her eye a bulging figure stomped to her hastily. Good Lord of Hell!
As soon as the male Shinobi was near reach, Jena boosted her weight upon one leg and kicked up with her other. The surprising move made Hammer jolt, flexing his neck backward to dodge the high kick. Performing the Konoha Senpuu, the girl fooled the man, hoisted her body with her hands and used the remaining leg to hit his stomach with all her physical strength. Hammer gritted his teeth, yet showed no sign of pain at the counterattack. She repeated the Jutsu in succession, landing kicks that did little to no damage. She fumed at her feeble attempts, and as she went to attack the man's groin to make a change to the turn, the ninja grasped her leg with his meaty hand and tossed her away. Again she rolled on the dirt, landing with her head facing the sky. The Missing let out a sigh of frustration, until she saw a towering shape glaring down at her. That smirk again. Wow, she really wanted to hurt him. Bad.
Suddenly, and quite abruptly, he lifted one of his feet, shrouding her face with its shadow. Reacting by fate, Jena rolled on her side just when the brute fiercely stomped the ground. The resounding echo of the thump made her body tremble. That was a close one. Waiting would mean trying to get herself killed, so she speedily knelt and ran forward, standing as she did so. Stopping, she spun around with one of her heels and narrowed her eyes. The man stood there, fingers fidgeting in anticipation. Jena grabbed the chance and concentrated on her chakra pool, readying a move. Sadly, the opponent foresaw this, and pulled his leg up before bringing it down to the earth crust, clashing and creating multiple cracks. It was then that columns of stone arose from their slumber, a straight line of them heading to the female ninja.
While she successfully dodged a couple of them, some pillars of stone actually surged perfectly and hit her frail skin, cutting it open or leaving a tiny bruise. She thought she was out of it, when out of nowhere Hammer vanished and came back behind her, one of his knees aiming for her ribcage. With a confident swing, the man sent the girl flying, again. This time she did not bother move, mainly because a sickening thump resounded within her. Yep, something was broken in there. The male chuckled from far off, nearing the hurt ninja. Jena coughed once and rolled on her back, her arms holding her torso and eyes narrowed to slits. The shadow of the brute loomed above her, and she faintly noticed the figure kneel down beside her. "Any last words, you pitiful runt?" He literally spat, a fist raised in preannounced victory. "Actually, yeah," she confessed, imitating a nonchalant tone, as if nothing had hurt her. "Kanashibari no Jutsu."
It was a tad too late when Hammer realised the trap. Her hands had clasped together and performed seals when the man's little eyes were focused on the injured Missing-Nin. His eyes widened as he attempted to move a muscle. She could see him using all of his force to break the Jutsu, but it was of no use. He was entirely immobile. Hooray, finally she had the advantage. Getting up from her former position, the female Shinobi took a fair distance away from the angered ninja, that frowned and growled at Jena's cunning plan. Hah, brains over brawns after all! Now was the time to act, and what better thing to do than shrivel up and shatter what was left of his sanity? "Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu," she announced, hands moving in seals and her chakra flowing energetically. A whirlpool of leaves drifted violently upon the clearing, and, in a wave, enveloped the still Hammer in a tornado of green.
Jena scurried off to a side, examining what had been originated from the Genjutsu. The storm of leaves dissipated, leaving behind a dumb-stricken brute whose eyes darted nervously. It was then that he halted, and began sweating nervously. He muttered and shook within the illusion, unable to move and heart obviously beating fast. She was known for not paying much attention to the revealed fear of the victim, and would instead think of a move that should follow on. Ah, perfect~. She guessed she would disrupt the effect of the Jutsu, but it was now or never. Her fingers slithering to her Shuriken holster, and retrieving one of said weapon, her magenta eyes bathed in contempt as she scanned the fearing pose of the once strong and burly man. That was when she smirked quite evilly. "Soushuriken no Jutsu..."
Hammer could've heard the dangerous hiss of the fast Shuriken, yet he was ever so absorbed within the Genjutsu that payed no notice whatsoever. Good. A very thin and almost invisible thread had been attached to the weapon, and behind the scenes Jena played with this sort of puppet. She pulled, then, and the Shuriken rapidly changed course, spinning toward the Otogakure ninja's arm. The unexpected cut from the black tool made him flinch, yet he could do no more than stand against the pain. The girl repeated the process, examining slash after slash and blood dripping from said wounds. Soon enough his skin was decorated with countless scratches, scarlet liquid oozing steadfast. Hm, the attack did not deal as much damage, but it was a start. The female leaped out of hiding, standing before the frozen guy. Shrugging to herself, Jena giggled as a foot went straight for his jaw, colliding agonisingly. Hammer's eyes squeezed shut, yet his muscles remained still.
The girl just kept on like this, aiming for different parts of the body as the paralysing Jutsu lost effectiveness. Soon he sustained his body with both his cut arms and chest growing big with exhausted lungs. Did she really put her best strength with those moves? Oh well, the two tricks surely did the jist of it. "Did you have a fun time?" Jena mocked, puffing slightly. "I sure as hell did. You should never underestimate your opponent, you stupid brute." "You defeated me," the Otogakure ninja gasped for breaths, visibly agonising with the slashes and wounds. "You beat me fare and square. I surrender, take me as you must and end with my life." "No, I won't kill you. In fact, I'll be handing you over to the Otogakure authorities, they shall know what to do with you and those stolen scrolls. And remember, if you ever think you can escape and do what you please, I swear on my own soul that I will find you, and I will hunt you down."
Hammer glanced at the ground in shame, taking note of her threatening promise. He knew she would comply with her words, so he struggled to stand and bowed to her. The whole ritual was... kind of comforting for Jena. It made her feel important, even. "And don't you dare try to run away on the road," was the only warning the Missing gave before the male Shinobi was escorted back to the Sound Village, head low and hands tied to his back. What a hassle of a man.END
