Fumiko is very petite, coming to an exact five feet and weighing it at one-hundred and twenty pounds. Straight and narrow would be the best way to describe her body type, as she is quite thin all around. Lacking what some might call 'feminine assets'. Her small frame is draped in long, bright blonde hair that reaches her hips. Atop her head is a rather large red ribbon (something her mother always dressed her in) that she is almost never without. She never puts her hair up, not even for a fight. Despite the fact that it could easily get in her way. Fumiko has a very sharp jaw line and deep, purple eyes that give her a doll-like appearance.This leads many to believe she is still just a child - something her personality does little to make up for.
While her preference for her non-combat gear are dresses and kimonos (not just for festivals), she usually understands that they are unfit for combat. Instead she opts for a more traditional shinobi dress that is designed for combat in varying color, with plain black leggings that reach mid-calf. Strapped to her thigh is a shuriken holster, and she does not carry anything else on her person. Her forehead protector is warn on her left arm.
Also worth noting is the eight foot long, golden Inland Taipan that is very often wrapped around her, weaving around her limbs as though it were an extension of her. Though the snake easily overwhelms her frame, forcing her to carry some of his length in her arms should he 'hitch a ride' while she's walking. Otherwise the snake is generally never far behind when he can't be on his owner. |
If you were to describe Fumiko in one word, it would be: odd. She's constantly looking at things with emotionless eyes and an expression that's seemingly impossible to read. This is her standard expression, no matter her mood. For most it takes years of friendship to be able to read her mood with the few visual cues. Though those well versed in reading body language may have an easier time.Unfortunately, this isn't the case for most of the people living in Iwagakure.
Both by choice and due to alienation by her peers, Fumiko prefers to spend her time with Shi, her Inland Taipan snake. The two are often found under a shady tree, Fumiko with a book in hand and the eight foot snake coiled in her lap. She is an intellectual who consumes books like a human consumes water to survive. Silently watching others from both afar and up close to learn and observe.
Though Fumiko's moral system may seem non-existant, she is generally a well meaning girl. She just primarily focuses on her physical needs such as sleeping and eating, both for her stomach and her mind. So long as these three needs are fulfilled, she is pleased. This mindset easily allows her to shadow just about anyone, ignoring their intentions or flaws. She can find interest in just about anyone, but will follow around those she finds extremely interesting so that she can continue to observe them
It's really a wonder why Fumiko even became a kunoichi with how little she cares about fighting. She puts as little effort forwards as possible. Preferring not to get her hands dirty, she instead relies primarily on genjutsu. Her snake Shi and Shoton jutsu act as last resorts. Though once she gets going with Shoton jutsu, it's hard to get her to stop, as she's enamored by the beauty of the crystals.

Fumiko was born in the long summer months to Mizuki and Shintaro Sato in Iwagakure. Her mother Mizuki Jinsoku was a crystal-user who retired from working as a Jounin when she was ready to have a child of her own. Shintaro, when he met Mizuki, was preparing to join the ranks of ANBU as one of their intelligence Division shinobi. His job would be to extract information - often by force - from shinboi for the greater good of Iwagakure, and he left to begin working shortly after Fumiko was born. Throughout her childhood, it was a rare occurence to be able to meet with her father. And as his job went on, he grew increasingly cold and tired, even towards his daughter. This tore the marriage between her parents apart, but Fumiko held strong. She seemed so unaffected by her fathers seemingly lack of compassion.
As the years past, Fumiko's personality only further continued down this path. It didn't exactly her many friends, except for Shi. To her mother's dismay, little Fumiko brought home the baby Inland Taipan when she was nine years old. The snake was known for being incredibly venomous, which terrified her mother. After all, what mother would want her nine year old playing with a snake who's bite would kill her in under an hour untreated? However, Shi was and still is an incredibly docile snake who would never strike unless unprovoked. He provided free pest control, watched over her daughter, and his name 'Shi' was so similar to her father's name, Mizuki couldn't say no.
Just a short year after Fumiko acquired Shi, her mother was asked to come out of retirement for a top secret mission. One that would benefit greatly from her Shotun jutsu. As with every morning her mother tied a long red ribbon in her hair, gave her a kiss on the cheek, and left. But her mother never walked through the door to the Sato home again. At the fragile age of ten she had lost her mother, but the child did not weep. She instead grew increasingly reclusive, enjoying only the company of her companion Shi. Her father returned home so that she wouldn't live alone, but is very rarely home as he's almost always busy with work.
Despite Fumiko's talent for genjutsu like her father, and even a rare kekkai genkai like Shotun jutsu, Fumiko still managed to frustrate her instructors. Not only was she not even worthy of an E-Rank in Taijutsu, but she refused to even participate in physical combat! Even when they were practicing the jutsus she was particularly good at or liked, Fumiko was always far too bored or tired to want to participate. Somehow, perhaps by the grace of instructors who didn't want the hassle of handling her, she graduated from the Shinobi Academy. Now a sixteen year old Genin, she has very little aspirations to climb in rank. However, those around her have urged her to join a team and do her part as a Kunoichi of Iwagakure. Though reluctant, Fumiko agreed to join a team, if only so she coud observe a wider audience. | ooc info
