biography Kazama was born shortly after the Great Shinobi War, when Sunagakure was left in a weakened, poor state. Kazama's parents, being no more than simple traders, found themselves struggling to put food on the table in such a worn-down economy. With a new mouth to feed around the house as well, the family was struggling to make ends meet. When Kazama was still young, it was decided between his parents that continuing to live as merchants simply wasn't possible. With a call for more Shinobi following the war, Kazama's parents discussed the matter and eventually agreed to enlist as Shinobi, even though they were both already adults. Because his parents were often put on missions out of the country, Kazama's parents more often than not left him in the care of a family friend, usually only getting to see him for a few weeks at a time before leaving again for several weeks. Despite the fact the he would often be distanced from his parents, Kazama still desired to follow in their footsteps and become a Shinobi. At the age of eight he enrolled in the local Shinobi Academy and studied hard. In the academy he performed well and by the age of twelve he was eventually granted the rank of Genin and sorted onto a team. After being sorted onto a team, Kazama began to notice the world around him more - particularly the village. Even years after the war the Kazekage was taking jobs on behalf of Konoha in exchange for resources. The people disliked the Kazekage's methods, feeling that they had now essentially become Konoha's lapdogs - especially considering how they had once been enemies. Despite their criticisms, Kazama found himself sympathizing with the Kazekage, rationalizing that it must be necessary to work for Konoha if the Kazekage believed it to be so. The fact his parents were dependent on missions to make a living swayed him more so. At the age of eightteen Kazama and his teammates participated in a Chuunin Exam, fighting tooth and nail against other teams from other countries. Despite how rough and dangerous the exam had been, Kazama and his teammates were nevertheless able to attain the rank of Chuunin. It was at this time that Kazama's desire to be a Shinobi grew from more than simply desiring to be like his parents or as a means of making a living - he desired to make his Village strong again, and so was willing to lend a hand to the Kazekage if it meant Sunagakure's economy could stabilize. Now able to join his parents on missions, Kazama frequently found himself allying with them as he went on numerous missions beyond Sunagakure's borders. Whether it was bodyguard work, espionage or sabotage, Kazama frequently found himself putting himself in danger, much like back when he had participated in the Chuunin Exam. He never lost his drive to do what he could to improve Sunagakure's standing, but being out in the field often made him question if any progress was being made, or if any progress was happening fast enough. He refused to believe that any efforts on the part of the Shinobi for the sake of strengthening Sunagakure were in vain, but the many dangerous missions he participated in began to make him weary. As Kazama began to enter his late twenties, he already began to feel somewhat exhausted. The missions Sunagakure did on behalf of Konoha were taxing, and although the village was improving, it felt as though the village hadn't become strong so much as it had become dependent upon Konoha's wealth. Kazama felt strong doubts about the Kazekage's plans, but despite this he refrained from voicing his doubts. By the time Kazama hit thirty, he ended up obtaining the rank of Jounin for his years of service. Not long after Kazama became a Jounin, things began to go downhill. On a mission on behalf of Konoha, Kazama's group - consisting of himself and his parents - were ambushed by rogue Shinobi. During the skirmish many of Kazama's group were killed, including his own parents. Just barely managing to escape, Kazama ended up returning to Sunagakure a changed man. In his mind, the sacrifices the Shinobi of Sunagakure were making on behalf of another country were no longer justified by the Kazekage's plans. Becoming a harsh critic of the Kazekage, Kazama began to only take on missions that directly benefitted the village itself while vying for the seat of Kazekage himself. Despite this, when the Kazekage finally passed away, Kazama was overlooked for the position of Kazekage in favour of a younger candidate. Despite his skepticism of the young woman, Kazama decided to wait before judging her, keeping a close eye on how she continued on from where the last Kazekage had left. Deciding to leave active service on the front lines however, Kazama decided to stay in the village as a Jounin Sensei, intending on teaching a younger generation. | ooc info ☆ NAME Lao ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS N/A ☆ FACE CLAIM BLEACH Yhwach, fūma kazama THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO LAO.
