Name: Shi, "Shi-kun"
Species: Inland Taipan (Snake)
Rank: B-Rank
Description: Shi is a golden Indian Taipan with flecks of brown scales. Inland Taipan's are known for being extremely venomous, and their venom could easily kill a man in 30-45 minutes depending on the severity of the bite. However, they are generally incredibly docile and would rather avoid confrontation. Biting only when they feel threatened or trapped. They are an incredibly uncommon snake to see, as they generally avoid humans. Shi is eight feet long and easily overwhelms his owner's small frame. The snake thoroughly enjoys weaving himself around her limbs and coiling in her lap.
Fumiko met Shi when she was just nine years old, and the two have been inseparable ever since. Much to the dismay of shopkeepers and shinobi alike, Shi is either wrapped around Fumiko or close behind her at all times. It wasn't until Fumiko attended the Shinobi Academy that an instructor suggest the snake be trained as a combat pet. Though docile and largely lazy, the snake is very protective over it's loving owner. Her training was fairly lax, and as such the 'orders' she gives Shi don't really seem like orders at all. Shi seems to act more on protective and natural instincts, utilizing the skills he's learned.
Techniques:
- Camoflauge: Shi is able to shed his golden skin in favor of blending in with his surroundings. Though the snake seems particularly fond of his natural golden hue, and is quick to shed his skin to return to it.
- The Snake Pit: Shi is capable of infiltrating the illusions Fumiko creates through Genjutsu, and can even manipulate the illusion. Often coiling around her enemy or causing a pit of snakes identical to Shi to form below them. He sometimes even bites if the enemy has particularly ticked the snake off.
- Venomous Fang: This is Shi's only offensive ability. He is able to make a replica of his two fangs, shooting them out at a target or even allowing Fumiko to dislodge the fangs from his mouth to be thrown like kunai/needles. The fangs are laced in the potent Inland Taipan poison and extremely toxic.
