Welcome to Unison Sign! We are a reimagined Naruto site taking place in an alternate world to the one from the canon. The continent we live on has greatly destabilized since the emergence of chakra. Bijuu now roam the earth and secrets from centuries ago are being discovered. To protect themselves and to better prepare for the road ahead, clans of shinobi have started to band together in groups and are setting up villages in which they can reside free of discrimination. Join us as we build this world from the ground up.

some info
OUT OF CHARACTER! Unison Sign is officially open! We've completely overhauled the site giving it a new look, new backstory, and new role playing system. We're still rolling out information posts and making changes to the board but feel free to get started on your characters and jump into the role play whenever you're ready. Make sure you are familiar with all of our new threads before you do though!
IN CHARACTER With the release of the bijuu and chakra reappearing in humans, the world has become incredibly unstable. To protect themselves from discrimination and prepare for the trials ahead clans of shinobi have started to gather together to form villages. Two villages already exist and this has put pressure on other clans to start to come together under their own banners. Will you help create these villages or do everything you can to stop them?

i'm not empty and all i loved, i loved alone Notes: Welp. I dunno what to say. Thanks for agreeing to this. Sorry if the post sucks. And if it was wangsty, I'm feeling a bit down right now. Tagged: @meitachibana Words: 452 | Kiyoshi was used to training alone. Okay, that was the a bit inaccurate, he trained alone, period. How he had managed to get so far without relying on others was a mystery, but he'd done it, and for that, he was proud. In fact, there wasn't really a time when he wasn't alone, at least not anymore. Though he may not have let it show, the teen did get lonely. He wasn't completely unfeeling, after all, regardless of how much of a bastard he acted towards others his age.
Just because he was lonely didn't mean he was about to go running back to them with his tail between his legs though. That was a line he couldn't and wouldn't cross. He had his pride to think about, after all, and tarnishing it was one of the only things he'd refuse to do, even if it meant it'd cost his life. If he didn't have his pride, then where else would his will to live be? It was one of only things he had left, besides himself. He'd long since forsaken everything else. Friends? Family? He didn't have any of those that he would willingly acknowledge, not yet at least, not yet.
He wouldn't ask for help from any of them.
But then, who else would he ask? His spirit was too stubborn and prideful to go to anyone for help, but at the same time, he realized that he couldn't do everything alone. He wasn't that arrogant, no, and he knew he needed help in training and just in life in general. Had a mentor simply been assigned to him, he would have had no qualms with bending his head and going along with it. But as of yet, he didn't have a mentor assigned to him, and so, he'd had no choice but to ask for help and submit a temporary mentor request form. He hadn't expected that he'd be assigned to the Raikage of all people, though.
Speaking of the Raikage... It was the leader of the village! Though he usually didn't care much about people, even Kiyoshi couldn't help but be a little nervous. Had it been anyone else, he'd probably have showed up late, but it he wasn't too keen on making the head of the whole village mad, so he'd ended up getting to the meeting spot an hour earlier. He didn't mind, anyway, he could just sleep the time off. It was nearing noon, after all, and as a result of his bird bonding, he was more of a night owl. Settling into a vacant corner of the island turtle, Kiyoshi stretched himself out and let himself quietly drift into the familiar grasp of dreams. |

Post by Amaterasu Tachibana on Aug 8, 2014 13:21:04 GMT -7
"Ooooooohhhh. Ama, the little birdie is sleepingggg..." Ares whispered down at Amaterasu as they entered into the clearing where Mei had instructed them to meet her new student. His head hovered close to the Kumo jounin's ear, his eyes trained on the sleeping form across the open cleaning. Amaterasu's hand trailed up to wrap around one of Ares's horns, keeping him close, as well as making sure the large animal didn't trot right over and wake up their student yet. She had a plan for this situation. It would ensure that he never took a nap when he was supposed to be training. Just because his sensei hadn't showed up yet, didn't mean that he couldn't be stretching or preparing himself for the day of training.
Amaterasu glanced toward Ares with a playful smile on her features, silently able to communicate her plan before she let Ares go. Padding forward into the center of the clearing and then right toward the tree that Kiyoshi had nestled himself into, she started with a few hand signs, her gaze on her new student. Why was she here and why was she screwing with the young genin? Truth was, Amaterasu had only returned to the village a few days before, and upon her arrival, her sister had promoted her to tokubetsu jounin and given her a student to look after. A genin who didn't yet have a sensei. That worked for Amaterasu and Ares perfectly, because they knew that the Hane were beast masters of sorts. So when Mei had instructed Amaterasu to meet this genin for training, in place of the Raikage herself (seeing as the woman was always buried in work), Amaterasu couldn't refuse the chance to put herself out there.
Though, that also meant that she couldn't resist the urge to scare the heck out of a little sleeping urchin. "Mokuton: Stocks," she muttered, watching as the tree around Kiyoshi grew and formed, moving the genin into a position in which he was caught in chakra suppressing stocks. Ares, on the other hand, had let out a burst of Katon chakra to his hooves and his horns, setting them on fire. They roared in a soft, crackling blaze. Amaterasu stood before the stocks with her arms crossed over her chest, Ares standing at her shoulder.
"Good morning, Kiyoshi Hane," Amaterasu said with a playful smile. "My name is Amaterasu, and this is Ares. The Raikage decided to send us to train you in her place. I've been assigned as your jounin-sensei, so we'll be working together for a long time. However, the first lesson that you're going to learn from me is not to fall asleep when you should be training. I may not arrive on time or when you do, but that means you get started without me," she said, her voice remaining playful and sweet. She wouldn't be mean. That wasn't who she was. She was a gentle soul, though she knew that this was one point that she needed to hit home with. i'm not empty and all i loved, i loved alone | Dreams. When he dreamed, it seemed as if all of time had stopped, the air still with the permeating silence. He knew he was alone, didn't have to look around like he had the first time. For a moment, he sat, waiting. Then, gradually, his surroundings changed, faint outlines appearing in the paleness of his surroundings. A cold gust of wind rose goosebumps along his skin, and before long, the cold had faded into a numb warmth. A single breath, eyes fluttering closed. So today it was snow. Today, he was at the edge of the world.
For a moment, there was peace, and he could feel himself slipping away, even in a dream. This overwhelming sense of emptiness was a welcome balm to the inner turmoil he experienced daily. It was his way of forgetting, if only for a moment. The wind that blew tore at his clothes and hair, tearing away his thoughts until he was left with nothing but a vague sense of who he was and why he was there. His state of lethargy didn't last long, however, and there was a tug on his body. No! He knew what it meant, and he didn't want to wake, didn't want to leave this dream. Not yet, not yet. Frozen fingers, barely able to bend themselves, tried to grasp the snow and keep his dream-surroundings in place, but the effort was in vain. The coldness disappeared, and he was plucked into a world of warmth.
Kiyoshi's consciousness returned slowly, and tired red eyes blinked. Sleep always made his body realize just how exhausted it was, and waking from a dream as nice as the one he'd been having made it all the harder to stay awake. But bleary as he was, even Kiyoshi couldn't ignore the cold metal wrapped around his neck and wrists, restraining his movements. As his senses slowly came back to him, he could feel that he was on his knees: a position of humiliation.
The low growl that rumbled in the back of his throat came instinctively, feral and not birdlike at all. Dazed as he was, the teen had yet to get a grasp on his emotions, and though ruby red orbs still held the glaze of sleep, a flicker of anger pierced through them, brightening his eyes. It was to this sense of fury that Kiyoshi fully awoke to, and as he revived, he fought off the urge to bare his teeth and act on any primal instincts that threatened to arise. The effort to school his face back into its usual nonchalance was a struggle, and though he successfully managed to smooth his face out into his usual smile, his eyes retained their sharp edge of hatred.
"Sensei, huh?" he asked, voice just as pleasant as said sensei. How wonderful. This Amaterasu hadn't won any brownie points by restraining him in his sleep, and any senses of submission and trust he might have granted her in the beginning were lost in an instant, gone with the wind. But Amaterasu... Wasn't that the name of the Kazekage's sister? At least he knew her family name, which she had neglected to mention, now. He probably had a letter waiting for him back at home about this new sensei of his, and he sighed at the thought.
"Pleasure to meet you, Tachibana-san." His title of choice showed that he had yet to acknowledge the Jounin as his sensei. "Clear as crystal," he chirped back just as sweetly, though he knew it was a lesson he was going to disregard completely, if just to spite this woman. "As for starting without you... Well, I came here to train with you, not without you, late or not." Normally, he would've kept such a comment to himself, but he was still smarting with anger from his rude wake-up call. |
