‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay I’m on top of the world, ‘ay Waiting on this for a while now Paying my dues to the dirt I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay Take you with me if I can Been dreaming of this since a child I’m on top of the world. On Top Of The World When you repeat the same thing constantly and dedicatedly on a regular routine on set times of the day or week, it becomes a part of your lifestyle in no time; a part that is hard to be detached from. You could call those habits. Some people are forced into them, some adopt them willingly on their way. Regardless, it's those small, insignificant events and details that can eventually fully complete your day.
Shikai adjusted himself since the seedlings bloomed, to spend some of his time with his precious flowers every single day; keeping track of their growth rate, size, condition and so on. He always had a much more peaceful aura around him as he sprouted water over the soil, thoroughly wetting it and keeping the flowers well-fed for the day. Even so, his energetic smile was just the same as usual; perhaps the small garden secluded from wind but bathed in sunlight was the main point of difference. "And... There we go! All done for now, right?" Obviously, there was no answer; to anyone else, anyway. He might be a bit crazy to interpret a positive answer in no sound or sight at all. Perhaps it was because of his own special attachment to those chrysanthemums.
It turned into a habit of Shikai's to attend his personal garden first thing after breakfast. He believed that a positive attitude and dedicated care will provide happy flowers, satisfied with their gardener. Above that point though, he was mostly having fun with the plants. Among the activities Shikai found himself doing through his days, this one was always the most peaceful and gentle; even if he was to meditate. Every day, starting with this relaxing pace, it wasn't bad at all. "Hehe... Well, I suppose that's that. You guys watch out for too much sunbathing, alright? ...Okay! Time for me to go!" He said, then left the garden. It was time to start off. What should he do today? It was enough that he woke up rather late, sleeping in after staying awake for so long at night (around 12 AM would be an accurate assumption). Training for today would probably be more effective due to his good night's rest. But, by this hour, most people should be up already. Maybe he could go out scouting items in shops or whatever.
Regardless, every day had to begin with the same ceremony.
Jumping up to his rooftop, taking a small glance at the crowds walking around, Shikai decided to pay no mind at all to their thoughts about his little habit. He inhaled in as much as possible and put both hands by the corners of mouth; letting out a loud yell, for the large sphere to hear and acknowledge his presence today as well.
"Good morning, sun~~!!!"
It's likely to assume that Shikai was the only person in all of Kumogakure that had such a ceremony, showing his appreciation for the sun, rising another day to light everything. Jumping down enthusiastically from his rooftop with a hand over his hat, the boy began wandering off into town. He was now fully ready for a day out!

i'm not empty and all i loved, i loved alone | Unlike a certain blond gardener, Kiyoshi started his day by rolling off the wrong side of the bed...roll. He groaned a little, and splayed himself out on the bare floor of his room, pressing a cheek into the cool wooden tiling. He hated mornings, hated the way the sun always insisted on rising again. They were his weakness, and if there was any time better to catch him with his mask off, then it was in the morning, before he had any tea.
Tea had always been an integral part of his morning routine, especially since he never bothered to eat breakfast. For a growing boy of fourteen, Kiyoshi ate surprisingly little, and he often skipped out on meals. Whereas he sometimes skipped lunch and dinner interchangeably, he always, always skipped breakfast. But tea (or well, just caffeine) was still a must. He had always been something of an insomniac, mostly because by some (mis)fortune, he'd bonded with a nocturnal bird, and so he always had trouble falling asleep when he needed to. Come time the sun graced the world with its presence again, he, unlike most people, was ready to pass out from his lack of rest.
Well, he had caffeine and he made sure to take lots of naps (most of them unwelcome), so he would live.
Now that he was awake anyway, he was high-tailing it out of the house. To the pale-haired teen, the Hane clan house was simply another roof over his head, another place to rest his wings for the night. In all truth, there wasn't much he was attached to within the building. His room was bare, save for his bedroll and a chest of drawers that held most, if not all of his personal belongings, and the only thing that he could really call his was a small tea set. Consisting of beautifully handcrafted ceramics, the set, a teapot a matching yunomi was his treasure.
Anyway, after the usual, teeth-brushing and face-washing, Kiyoshi sat down and had a nice cup of tea. From the light streaming in through the window, it was nearly dawn. He sighed. Though most of the house was probably still asleep at the moment, some of the Hane were early risers, so he would have to finish his tea quick. Three gulps and a hurried clean-up later and the teen was out the door, dressed in his usual ninja attire.
Even at such an odd hour of the day, there were already shinobi bustling about. Most were probably either returning or leaving the village on missions. Others would be Anbu and the like, guarding the village even while its inhabitants slept. All in all though, it was quiet. Perfect for a nap or an early morning walk. A yawn decided on the former, and the silver-haired boy shunshin-ed to a quiet park bench. From there, he proceeded to lay down to take a nap, the warmth of the brightening morning light working a spell on tired eyes.
A few hours later, and a loud "Good morning sun~~!!" dragged him back into the realm of consciousness, and he almost groaned again. Who in the world was positive enough to greet even the sun!? The Hane refused to even try to wrap his mind around it. If anything, he hated the sun, and there were many a time when he'd wished for it never to rise again. But it did, every day, like clockwork.
Well, whatever. Not like he could stay in one place for too long anyway, lest someone—like his sister or parents—caught him out. He wasn't particularly fond of running into people either, so he decided to wander. With another Shunshin no Jutsu, the kite was off, and he landed himself somewhere random in the village. A smile graced his face, neither happy nor sad: a pokerface. Well, time to go spend another day alone. |

I'm bored to death in heaven And down alone in hell I am the fallen angel By all means, the girl probably had no worse place to lose her way other than Kumogakure.
Despite the ridiculous... misfortune, Jena had to admit that the Land of Lightning had its beauty and wonders. The jagged and claw-like mountains presented a hazardous difficulty to daring trekkers, the levitating, empty splotches of white lingering near the peaks. With it came a gruff gust of slicing wind, more like an adornment than a necessary detail. Sure, the scenery would have been more enjoyable if it were not because of the fluttering strands of her short black hair slapping her face continuously, rendering the situation completely unsatisfying. The Missing-Nin could have used of hair clips at the moment, yet she had never experienced such a wind in her travels. This was her first travel trespassing the borders of Kaminari no Kuni, and to be truly honest, she knew it was the worst.
She could have foreseen said weather by the mountainous terrain and scarce vegetation, but perhaps her mind was yet too clouded with all the discretion matters and the likes. Jena had set-off at foot near the early hours of the day, the hovering golden globe barely even reaching the horizon and meek splashes of pink and orange disguising the navy blue of the night. To avoid any prying Kumo-nins' eyes she had to move rapidly through the still darkened biome, the protruding rocks and uneven boulders generously offering the female chances to hide momentarily. Any suspicious movement was soon disregarded by the guarding Shinobi, and they were quick to scan the remaining corners of the area with consecutive Shunshin no Jutsu. Imagine this whole process times fifteen, plus the raging and hostile wind, plus her cloak resulting stuck between squished rocks, plus stopping every ten minutes to assure she was taking the correct path, plus scavenging for more ninja, trained or wild animals that might leap upon her in just a heartbeat.
How troublesome the life of a Missing could prove to be. Actually, the sightseeing and the stolen goods or information could ease the pressure, and make the girl feel the journey was worth doing. But she'd had it with the bloody wind and the forsaken asymmetrical labyrinth of the land and the damned Kumogakure Jounins scouting the outskirts. Next time she was stopping by she'd make sure to travel at more convenient seasons of the year and hours of the day. Jena dragged on through the crusty soil, a gloved hand repetitively raising to the transpiring neck to massage it, her fingers already skilled with so much practice. It was right then that her magenta irises spotted up ahead a series of bizarre architecture jutting out of the brownish mountains, becoming more common with each passing step. This was it, she had finally made it to Kumogakure.
Finally.
Even so there was yet another task at hand for her to safely cross the village's gates. Jena was unsure if word had gotten here or not, but reckoning most Missing's statuses with their former homes, the guards probably had more of a concept about her than the citizens themselves. If she could scurry in without attracting too much attention from them, then she would be free to go about in Kumogakure as she wished. Discrete, of course, but as she wished. The cloak the girl was sporting was a good start, for example. Most travellers of distant lands found great use in identifying themselves with such a garment, the greyish colours standing out from other hues. Her normal attire, currently being used and hidden behind the long cloak, could be considered a no-go, being an eye-magnet because of the rareness of it. What was left now was her face, the eyes and the complexion giving away her name.
Perhaps a slight and easy Genjutsu to the foolish eyes of the Jounin standing ahead could solve the issue at hand. The man was accompanied by another comrade, assisting him on his duties. The latter of the two seemed already busy enough with a squad of brats attempting to convince the adult to join in their innocent game. This dispute, nonetheless, was of no importance to the first Shinobi, arms crossed and glare inspecting the passing individuals. Luckily not on the sight range of the male, the Missing-Nin took the advantage and performed a couple of hand-seals in quick fashion. Directing her technique to the eyeballs of the Jounin, the chakra enveloped her head and slithered around her features. In a couple of moments, Jena was no longer how Jena looked. Her hair had adopted a wavy-long goldenrod texture, while her irises were replaced with a bright green tone. Yet this was all what the girl wanted the man to see.
Noticing the unfamiliar profile the Jounin called the female near. He had his deliberations as well as his doubts, and he did not go as far as prodding her face to test its validity. After all, manners were manners, no? With a sigh and a shrug of his right shoulder, the male had agreed to let her through, on the condition that he did not trust anybody that walked through these doors, and that he had his eye upon all. The girl forced a cheeky grin and a cutesy giggle, thanking the Jounin to grant her the opportunity to visit the grand village. With those words and that fake emotion, she skipped through the open doors hastily and out of the guards' view. This meant that the Genjutsu had vanished, although it was only effective for the previous event. "Hah, imbeciles," Jena smirked, releasing the expression for a second before concentrating back into seriousness.
Up ahead, the only thing that had made her eyes widen was a humongous, blue, dome-like facility perched on the crack of two peaks. Many more homes and establishments were constructed upon the mighty heights, the colours of them contrasting the murky dark brown of the background. Well, maybe the trip did pay off after all. Jena wanted to make sure to take note of every single detail Kumogakure had, and so demanded herself to mirror a tourist in search of attractions and views. For hours she strolled and trudged, amidst the districts and alleyways. She could have sworn she was headed in circles a few times already, but brushed the sensation away for the moment's sake. In due time, yeah... She was uttermost lost.
Later on, a piercing and surprising shout caused the Missing-Nin to halt in her tracks. What in the-?! What was that? Jena glanced around, her eyes darting for the source of the 'greeting'. Just then a boy of golden hair and blue eyes bounced off of a rooftop, his hand holding up a hat and his feet taking him in her direction. Who in hell had so much strength at these hours to scream like that, especially when it's for nobody in particular? Well she had to give him kudos for being energetic and hyped, yeah. Hmm, now that she noticed, the boy did seem different than the other faces bulging about. There was this... air about him that pulled the power within you and made you want to jog at least a marathon from Hi no Kuni to Mizu no Kuni. He also had this amiable aura beaming from him. Perhaps we could be eager to help her? It wasn't wise and much of a desirable option to engage in conversation, but hey, she could also get some nifty background on Kumogakure if she was smart with her words.
"Er, excuse me," the female Shinobi muttered, eyes locked on the blond boy, a beckoning hand lifted to call his focus. "It's... sort of idiotic to mention, but I'm rather... lost. I've done so many walks here and there that I'm unable to place myself well. Could you perhaps be of assistance to me? A guide of any kind should not bother me at all."
And then, the fast blur of a figure shocked the undercover Missing, making her flinch and spin around to the source . She grew used to mistake brisk movements for an ambush on her, and so she forged lightning reflexes to laxly escape the uncomfortable crowd of enemy Shinobi. Yet now, it was only this boy boasting of his Shunshin no Jutsu. "Tch," Jena grunted, displeased at having readied for nothing.
