In this post we will detail all the of the rules and guidelines associated with the summoning jutsu (Kuchiyose no Jutsu) along with the creatures that are summoned using this technique. A summon is something that you will most likely pick up later on in your shinobi journey, however it is possible for you to start with the ability to summon as well. Before you can use a summon there are two prerequisites that have to be met; the first of which is to actually know the jutsu needed to summon the creature. It is as follows:

If you are choosing to start with this jutsu you must be chuunin rank or higher, or have taken ninjutsu as your primary skill. Regardless of how you got the skill, once you know how to perform Kuchiyose no Jutsu you can move on to the most important part about summoning. The contract. The following is everything that you need to know about your contract.
Contracts
First off, only one person may hold a contract with a certain species at any given time. There will be no exceptions to this rule. The only time a contract will be passed on is when the holder either dies or willfully loses it/gives it away. A person who holds the contract is considered the “Contract Owner”.
Second, the person holding the contract may choose up to two people to train in the art of summoning. This would essentially mean that they sign the contract that their master held. They would be able to summon the same species, but in return they will be unable to use the summoning animals if they choose to attack the contract owner. The only exception to this rule would be for training or sparring.
All members can only hold one contract. Their characters may be able to use other summons if they fall under the second rule but they can only be the contract owner for one summoning race.
If the contract owner dies or loses the scroll containing the contract the person who acquires it next becomes the new contract owner. All those who have previously signed the contract can still summon the creatures but the latter half of the second point still applies in that those summons cannot be used to attack the new contract owner.
Some additional points:
✘ It is possible to have it negotiated so that an entire clan can have the ability to summon the same species. If you are interested in this, contact an Administrator.
✘ Some species have an allegiance to a certain village or individual. A Summons’ loyalty is ironclad. To get any species to change their loyalties is nigh impossible and discussions of such are best talked about with Administration.
✘ Certain independent creatures can have their own Summoning Contracts.
There is one more piece of information that you need to know before creating your summon; and that is that each summon has their own rank. While the rank of the shinobi doing the summoning will affect what rank of creature gets summoned, it is still up to the individual creature to increase their rank. The following are the ranks that a summon can be.
E-Rank Summon: E-Rank summons are next to useless. This can be equated to a tadpole and is really only effective at allowing a shinobi to practice their summoning skills.
D-Rank Summon: D-Rank summons are usually small creatures that are able to provide moral support to their summoner but are ineffective in combat, sporting nothing more than basic taijutsu skills.
C-Rank Summon: C-Rank summons are able to understand how chakra works and can use basic jutsu. They are beginning to learn how to use elemental chakra and can provide basic offensive and defensive support in combat alongside their shinobi.
B-Rank Summon: B-Rank summons have grown to almost full size and have learned how to use their own unique techniques. They can hold their own in combat, with or without the support of their summoner.
A-Rank Summon: A-Rank summons have a wide array of unique jutsu and are capable of fully tapping into their chakra. At this point they are fully grown and are stronger than most average shinobi. Alongside their own unique jutsu they can also collaborate with their summoner to create devastating combos.
S-Rank Summon: S-Rank summons are legendary creatures with the ability to obliterate most foes. Their understanding of chakra and it's use goes beyond that of even jounin level shinobi and they are more than capable of taking the lead in even a heated combat scenario.
Finally, if your summoning contract allows you to summon more than one animal, you will have to include a completed application for each animal you can summon. These can all be in the same application thread however, as they all fall under the same contract. If you wish to update this list as you and your summons get stronger, you will also be permitted to do so.
Here is the summons template and a brief description of each field.
Name: What is your summon's name?
Species: What species of animal is your summon (the closest species, if it is a unique creature)?
Rank: What rank is your summon?
Description: Describe the physical and personality traits of your summon, along with any other important information.
Techniques: Provide information on what element your summon is affiliated with and any special techniques and jutsu that your summon knows. These jutsu do not need to be separately apped, so long as they are simple and well explained here.
Note: It is important to keep in mind that you do not need to have a contract with an animal to summon it and you can instead simply apply for one animal. You can also have more than one animal you can summon, while never having a contract with any. The contract function simply grants you more options and the potential to power up your summons over time. There are also other kinds of things you can summon, but it's best to discuss these details with the staff before getting too creative.
For those of you that do choose to go with a contract, below you will find the item you will need to fill out and post inside of the thread with all of the apped contract animals. Please modify the fields as necessary, but do not change the rank. These items are A-Rank, regardless of the animals they allow you to summon.
