Welcome to Unison Sign! We are a reimagined Naruto site taking place in an alternate world to the one from the canon. The continent we live on has greatly destabilized since the emergence of chakra. Bijuu now roam the earth and secrets from centuries ago are being discovered. To protect themselves and to better prepare for the road ahead, clans of shinobi have started to band together in groups and are setting up villages in which they can reside free of discrimination. Join us as we build this world from the ground up.

OUT OF CHARACTER! Unison Sign is officially open! We've completely overhauled the site giving it a new look, new backstory, and new role playing system. We're still rolling out information posts and making changes to the board but feel free to get started on your characters and jump into the role play whenever you're ready. Make sure you are familiar with all of our new threads before you do though!
IN CHARACTER With the release of the bijuu and chakra reappearing in humans, the world has become incredibly unstable. To protect themselves from discrimination and prepare for the trials ahead clans of shinobi have started to gather together to form villages. Two villages already exist and this has put pressure on other clans to start to come together under their own banners. Will you help create these villages or do everything you can to stop them?

I beg for attention in small doses.
Leave the scene smelling of dead roses. [attr="class","scrollyl"] "It's hooooooot," the woman whined, throwing her arms above her head and falling backwards onto the cool, hardwood floor of her clan compound. She was melting. By the end of the day she'd be nothing but a puddle, a sad excuse of a shinobi. What a way to go out, eh? Death by the miserable heat. Haruka usually preferred warmer weather to the cold, though perhaps that was more instinct than preference. However, this weather was absolutely miserable. It sucked the energy out of everyone she saw, and it only baited her into yet another cat nap. "So much for training today," she mumbled, closing her eyes and willing the muggy air away. Rolling onto her side, she was prepared to give in and just sleep the day away when she saw a familiar figure in the distance. "Hmm~" she mused, pushing herself up off the floor and using Shunshin no Jutsu to close the distance between the two.
Juro~ her eyes narrowed like a predatory cat that had closed in on it's prey, and her lips pulled into a mischievous grin. He was drawing again, though she couldn't quite see what from here. Well, this just wouldn't do. She was hot, miserable and oh so bored. Yet there he was, drawing away so contently. So peacefully! Like the sun wasn't blazing high up in the sky with the intention to burn Kumogakure down to a thin crisp.
Crouching down, the kunoichi took a very animalistic stance. Like a cat ready to pounce, she kept her sights on Juro as she formed a quick cat hand seal and focused her chakra to every joint and muscle in her body. After a moment, she was enveloped in a puff of white smoke, and from it emerged a small, black cat. She launched herself into the air, using Juro's chest as a landing pad and giving a triumphant meow. Clearly, she'd stuck the landing! Oh, he hated the heat, but at least being able to draw was taking his mind off of it. He was stretched out in the grass, shirt off, and leaning up a bit with his head under a pillow. There was a bird resting in a tree in his line of vision, so he had decided to sketch it. It never really moved, so he could really focus on getting the details right. If only a certain kitty could be a little quieter about her ambush. He was clued in from the moment she fell silent. These types of ambushes weren't unusual and to be honest, this was the usual type of day for him to get a ball of fur throwing itself at him. He sort of paused in his actual drawing, trailing his pencil just above the paper but not touching it. There was no way he was going to let one of his drawings be ruined because his friend decided to pounce on him. He remained aware of her position, a slight smirk on his features, though that was probably shadowed by his hair. He didn't have to wait long, because suddenly there was a cat on his chest. He abandoned his sketch book, reaching his hands out carefully, "Keep those claws in, Haru."Ronin's voice warned her, but he seemed more amused than anything. He then started to stroke her back with his hands, smoothing down her fur. A slight chuckle escaped him and he shook his head, "You're hot, so you change into an animal with not only one coat of fur, but two?" He focused on stroking her ears, making a face at the fact that she trailed her tail under his nose. Leaning his head away, he sneezed before putting his attention back on her. "You guys are lucky I'm not allergic to cats," he grumbled. Pondering what to do now that Haru was probably stuck in her human form for a while, he hummed toward her, "How about a swim, Haru? Or we can get that blood working and spar."▲ |

Leave the scene smelling of dead roses. [attr="class","scrollyl"] It was a delicate dance, trailing across Juro's bare chest with half-retracted claws. She was careful not to nick his skin, but let them drag just enough for him to feel them against his skin. She hoped it might tickle, but getting any sort of rouse out of the composed man was enough to entertain her. Besides, the smirk on his face meant he'd anticipated her ambush. Not that she expected any less from him, but Haru wanted to feel in control for just a moment. As his hands glided across her fur, she instantly retracted her claws and rubbed her head against his hand. A soft, gradual purr emitting from her tiny frame until he pulled away to sneeze. She had to admit, he was right about one thing - this fur was like a damn oven!
Sitting on his chest, her tail flicked back and forth as Juro listed off things they could do. Though she found her attention drifting off, with her golden eyes landing on the sketchbook he'd set aside. Her head tilted to the side slightly. As if the movement would help her see the drawing better. It was a beautiful bird, as always. She truly admired that Juro had such a lovely talent outside of stabbing people.
I've got a better idea, she thought, gaze honing in on the pencil he'd been using moments ago. Just as quick on her paws as she was on her feet, the cat had the pencil in her mouth in a second. Careful not to bite down on it so hard she'd snap it, she took off running. Prompting him to chase her if he wanted his pencil back anytime soon. Keeping her distance, she occasionally used Shunshin no Jutsu to propel herself further ahead, staying just out of his reach. She'd need the boost with such little legs. Little paws couldn't take the same strides her long legs could, but she wouldn't give in so easily!
After several minutes of darting in and around the clan compound, Haru found herself at a body of water much too big for her current form. End of the line. Quickly, her gaze flickered from rock to bush, and bush to...tree! Darting up the tree, she trotted across a very thin, weak branch. One Juro certainly wouldn't be standing on. It seemed so much as an acorn falling would snap the twig, and it was already bending beneath her weight. Did she just? He stared with a blank expression at his suddenly barren chest. She was gone. Glancing toward his sketchpad, alarm shot through him. Damnit. Not again. Huffing, he pushed himself to his feet rather quickly, rubbing at his shoulders. He'd give her a bit of a head start, he guessed. He had so many more pencil's back in the apartment, though this was the only one he had on him today. Besides, it was clear that Haru wanted to play. And he was gonna play right along with her game of cat and, well, Ronin. He glanced down at the sketchpad, waving toward his brother to watch his things before he shot after Haru. He was quick on his feet for such a small man, but he wasn't nearly as fast as a cat using that stupid jutsu. He pushed himself to go faster, weaving through the various forms of the Saito clan members and over the buildings. He skid to a stop atop one of the many buildings, looking up at Haru in the tree. She had his pencil still, thank goodness. Glancing down at the water, he smirked slightly. He didn't mind getting wet. It was hot as hell out here. In fact, he took the leap off the building and landed on top of the water, looking up at Haru. "So, you can either drop that pencil, or..." he mused, pulling out a kunai. "Or I can drop that branch of yours." He kept a smile on his features, waving the kunai in Haru's view. He'd make good on that promise, too. He didn't care if he had to clean up a wet cat, he'd drop her into the water without a second thought. "Because let's face it, you and I both know that it's stupidly hot out and that I'm not against dropping felines into cold water," his smile broke into a challenging grin as he watched his best friend. ▲ |

Leave the scene smelling of dead roses. [attr="class","scrollyl"] The branch wavered under he weight, and golden eyes glared down at the body of water below as if to dare it to reach up and snatch her right off in a wave. It may have been hot as hell, but there was nothing worse than soaked fur. Nothing. Still, Haru was one to finish what she'd started. She wouldn't be giving in to Juro so easily, especially not when he looked so smug down there. Acting as though he'd already won as he nimbly twirled a kunai and threatened to have her join him for a swim. Had her mouth not been carefully clamped down on his pencil, she might have hissed back defiantly in response. Mind racing, she began formulating a battle plan. She had to think quickly, as she didn't trust Juro to give her all day. The man looked all too eager to see her take a dip in the water.
And perhaps that's exactly what she'd do.
Crouching down, she firmly pressed her weight into her paws and her eyes honed in on her target: Juro's head. Using Shunshin no Jutsu, she disappeared from the branch in a second. Causing the stressed wood to snap and fall to the water below. Landing atop Juro's head, she was careful not to maim him with her claws. And in one more fluid movement, she had canceled her clan jutsu right as she jumped from his head to the water in a puff of white smoke. "Ah~" she breathed, reveling in the feeling of cool water against her warm skin. With a smirk she sat behind Juro in the water, waiting for him to turn around. He'd been using chakra to stay on top of the water, but what a shame it was that he hadn't experienced how refreshing this was for himself. Her lips curved upward into a mischievous grin that was likely a dead giveaway as to her plans, and she moved her arms to splash a large wave of water towards Juro.

He knew she would make some sort of an escape. It was in her nature, after all. He didn't make a move when she leapt forward, landing on his head for a split second before bounding toward the water. Turning slowly, Ronin watched his best friend in the water, a bit of a frown on his features. "You know how hard it is to get pencils to dry? They turn all weird..." he almost whined, but caught himself before the noise came out. There was no way he was going to be whiny over a pencil. Something of which he had quite a few more of. Still frowning, though, he dropped into the water right as she went to splash him, dunking himself under. Ronin could be classified as a fish when you put him in a body of water. He swam toward and around Haru, coming up behind her and snagging the pencil right out of her hand. He thwacked the back of her head with it lightly before throwing it back toward the tree. "Waste of a perfectly good drawing pencil, too. You owe me," he said with a chuckle, obviously just playing. He wouldn't take anything from her even if she went out and bought him a new set of pencils right then and there. He had piles and piles of them, so it wasn't any real loss. Humming to himself, he dipped back under the surface before letting just his head stay above the water. "This was a great idea, Haru," he mused, seeming very comfortable now. It was way better than baking in the hot sun like an egg cracked onto concrete. "How have your injuries been?" he finally asked after a few long moments, his expression turning concerned. "I can take a look at them if you need me to. I'd rather be safe than sorry, if I'm honest," rubbing the back of his neck, he reached forward, playing his fingers through Haru's hair. "Want me to put it up in a bun for you? Could help keep your neck cool," Ronin mused. He was turning into "Mother Ronin" suddenly, fussing over his best friend as usual. This was normal, and to any passing individual who knew the two friends, it would be nothing new to them. ▲ |
