OUT OF CHARACTER! Unison Sign is officially open! We've completely overhauled the site giving it a new look, new backstory, and new role playing system. We're still rolling out information posts and making changes to the board but feel free to get started on your characters and jump into the role play whenever you're ready. Make sure you are familiar with all of our new threads before you do though!
IN CHARACTER With the release of the bijuu and chakra reappearing in humans, the world has become incredibly unstable. To protect themselves from discrimination and prepare for the trials ahead clans of shinobi have started to gather together to form villages. Two villages already exist and this has put pressure on other clans to start to come together under their own banners. Will you help create these villages or do everything you can to stop them?

Sometimes the darkness could feel so cold, especially when he was on the surface. In the Suoh compound, however, everything was so warm and Ryuunosuke loved it. He didn't mind being burned by the hot embers of the forge as he slaved over a new blade, or the stifling heat that filled his stone-walled home when he finally settled down for the night. He did mind the darkness on the surface, however. It was so cold above the ground. He didn't have the lava lakes and rivers to warm him up. No, he just had flimsy clothing that didn't seem to warm him enough. That's why he was sitting out on a bench, shivering away on the surface. He observed the buildings of Iwagakure, silently pinpointing where buildings may need to be fixed or foundations shifted. He'd agreed to train a genin team and they were spending their early morning hours trying to beat each other into the ground. Honestly, they were too rough with each other. Ryuu kept a close eye on the trio at all times, his eyesight much like a cats with this darkness. The moon was shrouded by fluffy clouds, making the sky even more dingy than usual. "Alright, kiddos! I'm going to teach you something new, alright?" he called from the bench, watching the three of them stop, nod, and then untangle themselves from their writhing heap. He pushed himself off of the bench, sauntering quickly over and pointing ahead. There was a sheer cliff face ahead of them, almost sanded smooth by the winds that ran along its edges. "You're going to run up the cliff using chakra," he noted casually, sending chakra to his feet. He started up the wall without a hitch, standing toward the top with his arms crossed, "It's this easy," he mused with a playful grin. No, it actually wasn't that easy, but he wasn't going to tell them that. "I want you to mark the stone with your kunai so I can see how high you guys get up the wall. Once you master this, we'll practice some other chakra control techniques."With that, Ryuu wandered back down the side of the cliff, going to stand back in the grass and observe. He glanced around from time to time, making sure that no one was going to sneak up on them. It was almost too quiet out, even with the grunting and panting coming from his students. It put him on alert. He watched behind him, none too focused on his students anymore. "'llo?" he called out, rubbing at his arms. Damnit, it was cold. "S'meone 't there?"Devro Ishiyama

Iwa is not for tourist. way too cold. |
Leaving an inn at the back at the exit, Devro was given a scroll from one of the inn keepers. The inn keeper assured him that the Tsuchikage's administration will be notified of the pick up. He spent the last three days locked up in his room only coming out at night. It was a simple pick up for the Mizukage. Normally, a team would do this kind of stuff, but the content was just some friendly chatter this time. He didn't dare open the scroll. It wasn't like him to be curious.
The air tonight was colder than what he was used to. Kiri was usually rainy, foggy, and or humid. Iwa was a different story all together. Sometimes it was hard to believe that his ancestors used to live in the Land of Earth. His family name was Yukimura, but his mind and body were back in the humidity of Kirigakure. A gust of wind hit him and he shook a little. His cloak covered that his Jounin vest and his long-sleeved attire. It was the least he could do to cover himself. He definitely felt like going home or training to help him warm up. The prior option seemed to be the best option.
On his way out the village, he noticed what he analysed as younger shinobi doing what seemed like chakra control exercises. The feeling was nostalgic to when he trained with his father, but that also brought up some negative memories as well. He quickly brushed off the memory and watched the group from a distance. There was another figure with them which he assumed to be their sensei. He watched for a while as the young shinobi failed, but progressively got better. Then he heard the sensei call out into the darkness and asking if someone was there.
Devro stepped out of the shadows while adjusting his cloak and blade on his back. He slowly moved toward the group, but remained a safe distance before responding. Lifting his left hand up, he grinned at the group. "Aye, I'm not from around here. I hail from Kirigakure. Just passing through is all. I didn't mean to disturb you. Though, it looks like you have a good group," he spoke pleasantly. It was odd for him to speak in a pleasant mood, but he didn't want to be rude or sound threatening. He waited a moment before moving closer. The moonlight started to reflect off of his piercings as he moved closer toward the man with golden hair. "I'm Devro Yukimura," as he moved his right hand up to motion a handshake.

Post by Ryuunosuke Suoh on Jun 21, 2015 17:44:04 GMT -7
Ryuu almost wanted to apologize for his lazy manner of speech. It came from being down underground all the time. Clipped speech was the fastest to get a point across, especially when working over the scalding forges. Fashioning weaponry wasn't an eloquent trade, so he never found need to be. Unless he was speaking to his students or on important business in which he needed to make an impression, he spoke lazily. Clearing his throat, he crossed his arms over his chest, eyeing the Kirigakure man who came out of the shadows. He knew someone was there, but even a Suoh's nighttime vision wasn't top notch. "Welcome to Iwagakure, then, Devro. My name is Ryuunosuke Suoh," he noted, sounding out his words carefully. He hated having to repeat himself because of his own ability to speak like a normal human being. "I thank you. They're rookies, but they try very hard. I have to commend them on their dedication," he mused. This team was possibly one of the most inspired and formidable teams that he had ever had the pleasure of training. He loved training genin, though he'd only done so for a few years. His first few teams had all passed the chuunin exams. He didn't mean to feel full of himself, but he knew it was because he'd pushed just hard enough to instill perseverance and bravery into his students. Pausing for a moment, Ryuu looked the other man up and now, curiosity on his features. "Has anyone given you the tour of Iwagakure yet, or have you only just arrived?" he asked lightly, trailing his gaze back to his students. One of them was sitting at the top of the cliff. The young lady of the group. He noted that she had fine chakra control, feeling rather proud of the girl. She would do quite well if he had anything to do with it. The two boys were bickering between one another, trying to figure out just how their teammate had already climbed to the top of the cliff. Ryuu admired their teamwork, but he knew that one could not teach the other chakra control. While they could guide each other, it had to be learned, felt, through ones own abilities. Ryuunosuke himself remembered struggling after his accident. When the new limbs had been implanted onto him, he had to work extra hard on chakra control. It had lead to many sleepless nights, bumps, scrapes, and bruises. His own sensei had been so proud of him for overcoming his disabilities. "Because if they haven't, I'd be glad to show you around. We are allies, after all," Ryuu noted, friendly as could be. Devro Ishiyama

The female genin made it to the top of the cliff caused him to chuckle lightly. The other genin started to quarrel with each other. The scene reminded him of his own genin group. Though, he usually broke up fight rather than watch his comrades go at it. It kind of made him wish that he had his own genin team, but he was nervous about taking up a team. Being in groups of shinobi closer to his rank became normal. Having to keep a close watch on a younger generation would be a new experience for him. An experience that he questioned the possibility of having at all.
"To answer your question, I have been here a few days. Though, I haven't had a chance to get a good look at your village. I'll gladly accept your offer to tour the village. It's an honor to be guided be a member of the great Suoh clan," he spoke eagerly. A tour would be a nice change of pace. The mountainous surroundings of Iwa were a sight to behold. The thought of training here would be magnificent. The rocky geography would prove pretty useful with his Earth Release. It was one of those things that set him apart from the rest of Kiri. He had the Lava Release Kekkai Genkai. When his mother was a shinobi, she was a profound Boil Release ninjutsu user, but his father was also a Lava Release user like Devro was. Most Kiri shinobi had a natural affinity for water which caused him some grieve among his fellow shinobi. Not being able to use water ninjutsu in a village that primarily focused on the element was almost abominable.
Another light breeze blew across his skin. He felt a shiver roll through his spine once more. There was an uncertainty that he may never get adjusted to the weather here. He had to remember that it would take more than a couple of days to get adjusted. One new that if a village attempted to attack Iwagakure, they would have another thing coming. Iwa was built to last like most villages, but the geography made it different from others. As long as it wasn't snowing, he was going to complain to much about the cold air.
Looking back at the genin, he decided to speak up. "Hey, you two," he spoke firmly, "If you stopped bickering, it would be possible to actually develop the technique appropriately instead of wasting energy on yourselves. Don't do yourself and your sensei an injustice. Push yourself past your limits and you will become more than capable shinobi." Looking back at Ryuu, he nodded his head and started to feel a bit embarrassed. The words just slipped out. He normally wouldn't let others now how he saw things, but he saw an opportunity and acted on it. "Forgive me, Ryuunosuke. I was out of place to give your students direction," he apologized while rubbing the back of his head.
