This post is a work in progress. Please note that changes may be made to any of the information contained in this post.
In this post we'll go over some general world information to give you an idea of what the country is like so that you can get a better feel for where you're role playing. Keep in mind this information may be updated as the site changes.
Population - The majority of the continent's population was living around the base of the volcano when it erupted. After the eruption most of these humans were killed, either during the initial event or in the aftermath that followed. The humans that had chosen not to migrate to the volcano when the bijuu were sealed remained largely in their respective territories. They were not nearly as impacted by the eruption and some weren't aware of it until after news had spread with the survivors. These countries weren't nearly as populated though so there has been a noticeable decline in how many humans are currently on the continent. Cities remain heavily populated but it is much less likely to encounter other people when you're in the countryside or traveling.
It should also be noted that the ratio of non-shinobi to shinobi humans is greatly skewed in favour of the non-shinobi. There are probably ten non-shinobi for every shinobi on the continent.
Technology - When compared to the original series, our world is not quite as technologically advanced. Things like two-way radios and televisions do not exist in most areas. There is one city that runs on electricity located in Kazan no Kuni, known as Kakushin. This city has developed machines that can run off of steam power and most of their city is powered by this or hydroelectricity. Because this city is currently secluded this technology has not been distributed to the other nations so don't expect to find these devices anywhere else just yet.
Transportation - As one would imagine, transportation is primarily done via horse and wagon. While shinobi are capable of covering vast amounts of land in a relatively short period of time on foot, the size of our continent is quite a bit larger than the original canon, it makes traveling this way less practical except for those out on covert missions. Traveling from one side of the country to the other can take many weeks by conventional methods.
