Hitomi Hane, Shikai Saotome, Kenta Yoshida Shido waited at the entrance to the village, looking up as Fura came gliding down, landing on his shoulder. "Hey buddy, just a hot springs mission for my genin team. Your choice if you want to come." Shido said this as he stroked under the owl's chin. A small hoot of affection came from the owl, but the owl remained perched on Shido's shoulder. "But of course, you go wherever I do." Shido said with a smile on his face.
Shido looked around him. His team had dispersed to grab last minute things they may need for the mission. By the looks of it, Shido was the first one back. Even though Shido was the last one to go get the mission with his team, he was not normally late. But sometimes, Shido sleeps in a little, finding it hard to get himself out of bed. Once Shido was out of bed, he was bright eyed and ready to go, it was just a matter of getting the covers off.
As Shido immersed himself into his thoughts, he did not notice his pet lifting his weight off Shido's shoulder. Shido looked around and saw him perched on top of a nearby metal railing located on the roofs of the village. This would be the first time that the team would meet Fura. Seemed like Fura also realized this and wanted to wait on making his presence known to the genin team. "Well, it looks like it is almost time to go on our first mission." Shido whispered to himself, checking his watch.

N/a | Hitomi found herself immensely giddy that morning, so focused on the fact her team was doing a mission together that she almost forgot half of her supplies. Her father berated her the minute she ran back into the house, flying up the stairs and into her room as she scrambled to grab everything she needed. It wasn't all her fault she wanted to explain, her sensei had only told them of their mission when they'd gather together and specifically gave them time to grab extra items. But the leader of the Hane clan was not a man for excuses and Hitomi kept her mouth shut as she collected her supplies and muttered a quiet apology. After stuffing her pack neatly with an extra set of clothes, a towel, and a pair of working gloves, Hitomi was ready to go. She was late, that much the genin knew. Luckily (and in some cases unluckily) for Hitomi her sensei was the kind of person to amble in minutes later after everyone else. It made the young girl uncomfortable at times, so used to a rigid routine at home as she was, but Hitomi had learned to embrace her mentor's quirks and personality just as she hoped he would hers. After all, Shido Sensei was now and forever bound to his group of genin and they would all have to learn to work together. Throwing her pack over her shoulders and breaking into a jog down the village streets Hitomi made her way back to their meeting place. The cloth that covered her eyes flapped from the wind and movement, occasionally lifting up off her face so two bright yellow and clearly not human eyes blinked out. As Hitomi ran, closing the distance between her home and her sensei, she started to scan the street and so far also she could see was one lone figure, his posture slightly slouched. By the time Hitomi arrived, the owl had already flown away. "Shi-Shido Sensei," the Hane breathed, skidding to a stop before him as she bowed and tried to catch her breath. "I'm sorry for being late," and then, as Hitomi looked around, she realized none of her teammates had arrived yet. "Are we the only ones so far, Sensei?((Got template to work even on mobile )) |

- Kenta Yoshida - "a pessimist who transformed to an optimist in his prime" Kenta ran home at a steady pace, making sure not to exhaust himself before the mission even started. Excited, Kenta knew that this was his chance to finally get to know his teamates more. Once again, Kenta thought about how he would be late since he wasn't rushing home as fast as the other 3 did when they split up after hearing about the mission. The only thing he was told was that him and his team were going to help out at a hot springs. Everyone headed home to prepare for the mission at the same but he did not know the location of their houses but he had hoped they lived far enough that he wouldn't be the last one to the village gate.
Kenta opened up his door and was met with his father first. Kenta's father was a broad, strong, and confident ninja, placed among the top of his class and was known for his physical prowess. Asking him why he was in a rush, Kenta quickly spurted "GOING ON A MISSION TO A HOT SPRINGS, LEAVING NOW". Kenta thought of the few things he would need for an over the weekend type of mission. He grabbed an extra set of clothes, basic hygiene items, his ninja tools, and stuffed food into a small pack he put around his shoulder. As Kenta was leaving, he could hear his mother wish him good luck on his mission and to do his best. Kenta's mother was a very kind and smart woman. She was not very strong in her ninjutsu or taijutsu but she had the strategic mind in the family. She only stood a few inches taller than himself compared to his dad who was six foot.
Kenta didn't live far from the village gate and was able to get there and back to the outside with a decent time in between . As Kenta approached he had seen Hitomi and Shido but Shikai was no where in sight. You could tell Hitomi had just showed up herself but he wondered how long sensei had been there waiting. Kenta was now close enough to talk to them. " Well im glad to see i'm not the last one here at least", turning around to take a quick look behind him, he resumed, " I can't wait until Shikai shows up so we can get moving!"

‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay I’m on top of the world, ‘ay Waiting on this for a while now Paying my dues to the dirt I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay Take you with me if I can Been dreaming of this since a child I’m on top of the world. On Top Of The World Wow, oh wow. To claim that the boy was excited would be an understatement here; he was absolutely thrilled, no matter how small a task the team was given. It's been quite a while since he last left home for more than two days straight, and had to make sure everything was in order before leaving home, which would stand as the reason for taking him slightly longer than the rest of his team. Well, it can't be helped; a relatively tardy teacher eventually makes you think it's alright to arrive late. He was very looking forward to this little trip, and yet, took nothing with his package: only a bag with a set of clothing, hygiene pack and a few headbands with motivating writings over them. The Hot Springs were pretty close, so no food would be needed there; they will be staying at the workplace, or somewhere near anyway, which means they will be given uniform to work in and payed meals for their work. That's what Shikai had figured: they wouldn't expect a bunch of newbies to have so much money as to pay for three meals a day for three days, right?
"Okay. Let's go!" While he was certainly concerned for his flowers, at home was Saotome Tobihime, his mother, which was more than supporting of her son's new lifestyle. He would be leaving the house for a while, while she would tend his precious chrysanthemums. With that sorted out, the blond boy - still as flashy as ever - rocketed out of his door to the village gates, closing the gap in almost no time at all. Goes to show how much he was looking forward to this! "Saotome Shikai, reporting~!!" He energetically announced as he came to a stop in-front of his team. Looks like everyone was already here. "Oh, everybody's here again, huh! Then Sensei, Kenta-kun, Hitomin', good morning!" Just had to greet them a second time; but of course, the previous greeting didn't apply. They all scattered afterwards, that is. With a bright smile, he briefly removed his hat at the others, making a quick and polite courtesy just for the fun of it. Evidently, by the small laugh of joy that escaped his lips after.
With this, the entirety of Team 1 was present. Refusing to waste even a second, Shikai enthusiastically rushed out of the gates, then firmly posed, his finger pointing towards the exit. Looks like he wanted to take the lead on this one. That, or he was just really looking forward to working with everybody. "That said, since we're all here now, lets go! To the Hot Springs!!!"

Shido smiled at Hitomi as she arrived. "We're in no hurry. This mission should be nice and relaxed. Don't stress." Shido said in reply to Hitomi's worriness on the possibility of being late.
Shido thought in wonder as he watched Kenta approach moments later. "Is it a race with you guys, or something?" Shido asked rhetorically. Surprisingly, Shido thought Shikai would be the first back. With his seemingly pumped up energy...
And sure enough, moments later, Shido observed Shikai suddenly come up to them, bow a girlish greeting, then bound past them to the gate to get going. "Shikai, we'll get there by noon, even if we walk. There is no need to rush so much, we don't have a set time to be there." Shido said with a smile. "But on the other hand... love the energy, keep it up. Just don't tire yourself out too much." Shido stepped forward and patted Shikai on the head in a friendly way.
Shido nodded to Kenta and Hitomi to follow and started walking after Shikai, passing the front gate. As they continued their walk, it seemed Fura thought now was a good time to show himself. The owl swooped down and glided over the heads of the genin, seeming to want their attention just to make his presence known. A moment later and Fura landed on Hitomi's shoulder, seemingly to be attached to the bird tamer, understandably. Shido smiled to himself, keeping it quiet for now that this was his pet. At this point in time, they had already been walking for one and a half hours, and would reach the hot springs within another half hour.

Words | A steady blush appeared on Hiromi's face as she turned her gaze away from her sensei. True, they were working at a spa and the mission was rather relaxing compared to catching lost pets or running errands. But Hitomi couldn't help herself, not when it came to her team and her duty. She didn't want to disappoint anyone. And, on top of that, the Hane girl was excited!
Some may have resented this kind of mission, perhaps even see it as beneath their skill level, but not Hitomi. Cleaning and working at the hot springs did sound a bit like menial labor, that was understandable, yet Hitomi saw it as a way for her to bond with Shikai and Kenta, tightening their bonds that would last a lifetime. There were stories of how teams of genin grew up to protect each other later in life or spent years trying to rescue a member if something happened to one of them. No one would know you or your fighting style better than your follow teammates and sensei. And, oh, how Hitomi longed for that, desperately needing it since her own blood brother treated her so coldly.
"Okay, Sensei!" she smiled back at him, her breath leveling as she collected herself. It wasn't long before her teammates appeared and Hitomi greeted them warmly again. Kenta seemed more at ease than Shikai, but both were eager, that Hitomi could feel. "I think we'll need that energy when we clean," the Hane piped in, once again feeding off of Shikai's contagious enthusiasm. "It will be hot at noon with the springs and sun."
Despite her words sounded like a motherly warning, Hitomi was just as eager as the rest to get going. Her footsteps trailed after her sensei as the group's pace was set. They walked for quite a while and Hitomi found herself surprised at how long it took to reach the springs. Yet no complaints could be found on the Hane's lips as she adjusted the weight of her pack and fell in line with her teammates.
Eventually a shadow loomed over the group and Hitomi didn't know if she was the first to see it. Probably not, but the genin was quick to recognize the outline: an owl. Peering up to the skies, Hitomi covered her eyes from the glare of midday sun, catching a flash of white before it silently descended. When the owl settled on Hitomi she knew a lot about it since it was no Hane bird and no wild owl would be out blindly in this time of day. The creature belonged to somebody, most likely Shido sensei.
"Good afternoon," Hitomi spoke to the owl, her own inner avian chakra building at her throat and ears. All in the Hane clan once bonded with a bird were fluent in speaking and listening to the words of the avian race. So what sounded like normal language to those around Hitomi when she spoke would also make sense to the owl as well, perhaps just a slight tinge of difference in dialect since Hitomi's own bird was a kestrel. And then, whenever the owl spoke and non-Hane heard hoots and chirps, Hitomi could translate. "You've got beautiful wings. When you were flying, I didn't hear you at all."
Then, still bearing the weight of the bird on her shoulder, Hitomi turned to her master. "Does this owl belong to you, sensei?".

- Kenta Yoshida - "a pessimist who transformed to an optimist in his prime" With Shikai showing up as enthusiastic as ever, team one had started the mission. Getting there was only the first part of the mission. Kenta was not quite sure how far the hot springs were from the village considering that he never left the village much by orders from his parents as he was growing up. Simply walking through the gate caused this feeling of adventure and action. Kenta was aware that this was only a mission to work at a hot springs and that no real action would take place but Kenta was able to appreciate the smaller things in life.
The walk to the hot springs took longer than Kenta had thought it would but they honestly hadn't been walking very long. He was excited and couldn't wait until they arrive and was able to help out. Kenta was so excited that he didn't notice how hot it was at first but not long after leaving the village the heat hit him. Luckily his mom had packed him some water for the trip there. hastily digging through his things, he found the bottle of water he had thrown into his pack on the way out of the door. As he poured the crystal clear water down his throat he hoped that his body would allow him to get there in one piece. He looked at the others and asked " i wonder what the temperature is right now, i'm burning up". Not wanting to hold anyone back, Kenta pulled himself together and sped up his pace.
After a bit of time on the road, he could tell that he was starting to slow his pace. he whispered to himself " not already...." Kenta knew his limits as he would train to his limits every chance he would get. His endurance would slowly increase but never at a very large rate, but either way he knew what his body could take. At this moment he noticed Hitomi slow her pace also, he thought that maybe she was getting a bit tired also which made him feel a little better but he would soon see the reason for her decrease in speed. A shadow flew around the sky above them, one in which he could not tell the breed right away but he knew it was a bird of some sort. Raising his arm above his eyes to try and see a bit better in the blazing sun, Kenta came to a stop. Soon after the bird swooped down and landed on Hitomi. Surprised, he took a step back to examine the situation further. He knew that the Hane Clan were close with avians but he didn't suspect random birds to just perch on their shoulders. He had now also realized that the bird that landed on her shoulder was an owl, one with very clean feathers but he had a feeling that it was not Hitomi's bird.
Hitomi once again surprised Kenta by talking to the bird, exchanging words with the owl while the owl seemed to reply to her with hoots. She had complimented it and to confirm his thoughts, she turned to Shido sensei and asked if it belonged to him. Shin of GS + Adox

On Top Of The World Shikai found himself enjoying the teacher's hand over his hat. Their difference in height wasn't too vast, and they were both men, but the boy still felt assured thanks to the gesture; like a sense of protection. He laughed to himself silently, closing his eyes as the hand petted him. Almost like a feline. You could be certain the boy was ready to move out now on this mission, any interferences aside. "Hehe... Yes! Okay!! March!!" He yelled out energetically, starting a lively stroll to the hot springs, basically taking the vanguard. Leading the team with a marching walk, arms moving with his body, matching his legs' wider spread.
...They've been walking for an hour and a half, yet the boy on the front didn't seem phased at all by neither the heat, the exhaustion nor the way that just didn't show the hot springs anywhere near. In fact... "♪ Hot springs, hot springs... Going to the hot springs! ♫" ...He seemed very much into it. The little song he made was befitting of a happy child, rather a Shinobi or someone going to work. Hearing the footsteps behind him, Shikai could confirm that Shido, Hitomi and Kenta were behind him, walking as well, matched with his skipping pace. Maybe it was best if he let them rest a bit...? ...No, no. The sooner they got to the hot springs, the sooner they get to work, and therefore the better their pay will be and the more satisfied the clients will be! Besides, Sensei did say that they'll reach there in three hours regardless if they run or walk there. So just a simple three-hour walk would be okay. Until he heard one of his teammates making a complain.
He stopped, turned and looked over to Kenta, noticing the boy was already panting, sweating even and holding on to a water bottle. Poor guy must have not been too used to walking around in the heat, huh. "Huh... I don't feel too hot though." The blond looked genuinely confused; he was wearing long garments and a fluffy coat, not to mention black boots. If anybody should have suffered from heat it should have undoubtedly been that energy bomb. And yet, he didn't seem phased. He just smiled at the boy. "But if it's hard for you, want me to carry you? Hehehe!" He was kidding, of course. Hopefully Kenta could bode with his humor. Instead of 'carrying' the guy, Shikai removed his hat and handed it to his teammate to at least get some protection from the sun. "Just kidding. But this should help you out! Take good care of it, yeah?" With that, Shikai resumed his stroll.
After a short while, Shikai stopped hearing as many footsteps as earlier, meaning the team came to a halt. Turning around, the blond found out that Hitomi was now accompanied by a bird. Not just any bird, but an owl. Aside from the fact owls were nocturnal birds which made finding one rather rare during daytime, he was now witnessing the Hane Clan's avian affinity first hand. But to think it got to this level? "Woah, Hitomin!" His smile beamed, excited about this occurrence. He was intrigued, obviously enough. "You can even befriend birds you've never met before? That's so cool! Your clan is really something!!" Flattery flattery, but in truth he was a little jealous. Shikai wanted to play with the white owl a little too, thinking it would be friendly to him as well.
Likely, this one was the only one not to suspect the owl belonged to the Sensei...

Shido smiled and gave a soft whistle. Fura spread his wings and lifted off Hitomi's shoulder, next landing on Shido's shoulder. Shido stroked under Fura's chin. "This is Fura. He helps me out in battles and he wanted to meet my team, so he is coming along on the mission."
After walking a bit longer, Shido noted that Kenta was right... it was a bit too hot. Knowing how the weather usually is, though, Shido knew that it would cool down dramatically once night time hit. And sure enough, their journey came to an end...
As the team came upon a bend in some of the land's rocks, they saw a fairly big structure. They had arrived at their destination. Shido halted. "Okay team. We'll get ourselves checked in and explain to them what we're there for. Once we have a couple hours of rest and eating, we'll officially start the mission to help them. Now remember, this is a mission and we are representing Kumo, so with that being said, stay on your best behavior." Shido paused, thinking for a moment. As he did so, Fura lifted his wings and flew off, disappearing behind the hot springs building. "Kenta, try your best, this could help your endurance, and try not to go into your other personality. Shikai, keep up your energy and it will help, but don't go over board. And Hitomi, I think you'll do great connecting with the customers, just be sure to smile. And me... I shall work on not sitting back and watching you work. I'll actually help."
The team walked into the building and Shido talked to the front desk. They were officially checked in. Shido walked back to the team. "We'll be sharing a room on the second floor. It is now..." Shido checked his watch. "11:48am. We will begin work at 2:30pm. And the staff said they can have food to our room by 12:30pm. So from now until 2:30pm, you're free to do whatever you please. However, since we're shinobi, I do recommend coming to do a training session with me at 1:00pm, if you do not know how to walk on water. If you can walk on water, don't feel like you have to come. If you cannot walk on water... well, you don't have to come, but I highly suggest it." Shido then lead them to their room on the second floor.

448 Team One love <3 I'M SEARCHING FOR A PARADISE Hitomi cooed at the beast on her shoulder, bowing her head low as she honored the owl. She could tell, especially since it was Shido sensei’s pet, that the bird was stronger than she was and a creature that large could easily rip apart her own kestrel form. And in the Hane clan, if you were connected to an owl it was something to be revered, a privilege, as all knew of how deadly such birds were. Silent killers. Assassins of the night.
The owl was heavy on her shoulders, his talons digging into her robe and the soft flesh underneath. It didn’t hurt her, Hitomi figured the owl knew she was one of Sensei’s students, but it did feel like a small pinch. She was used to such sensation.
The girl wanted to talk to her new acquaintance more, but before she could say anything she heard Shikai’s voice. Hitomi glanced over at him, flushing under his compliments. Shikai’s compliments were nothing new to Hitomi, not after training with him, but he always seemed so sincere with them that no matter how many times he said something it still made the girl color from embarrassment. Usually praise faded with overuse but Shikai’s, just like his energy level, never did. She was oblivious to the jealousy it was hiding underneath.
“Ah, thank you, thank you,” Hitomi said, turning her attention back to the owl. “Did you want to know what he said?” she questioned, looking at Shikai and her other teammate. “Kenta-kun?”
But before either could answer the owl pushed off of Hitomi’s shoulder, gliding back to its rightful master. Her shoulder felt empty and a small part of Hitomi wondered what it would have been like if the Hane’s history had kept their birds as pets and not infused themselves with the animals. “Fura,” the genin repeated under her breath. “He is lovely, sensei.”
She didn’t say anything else after that, following the lead of their reserved teacher. The sun bore down on Hitomi and even she started to feel sweaty and overheated just like Kenta complained of earlier. Hitomi could feel the back of her dress, a brown color so it only made the heat worse, cling to her skin as her body warmed. Thankfully, they made it do the spa quickly after that and as Shido sensei spoke, Hitomi reached for her water container and took a sip.
It felt like a lot of information to take in so Hitomi listened intently, nodding her head every time Shido sensei directed something to her personally. “Yes, sir!”
Not knowing what else to do with their large chunk of free time, Hitomi followed behind the rest, admiring the spa and surroundings as they were checked in. “I’ll come to training,” she piped in, turning to her teammates hoping they would do the same. She desperately wanted to hang out with them and Kenta felt like all but a mystery to her since they hadn’t practiced alone together before this.
“Are you guys coming?”
